Called our mid-fl landline at 5.48p on 4/14/14, a Monday.  They left no msg of course, caller id reads Orlando FL.

Just for your information the police or fire department does not solicit over the phone...So, those calls are bogas...

No message left called the number back and it said mailbox if full and sour punch data limit has been reached???

vmail only captured "Goodbye" on their message - haha. looks like it's a telemarketer from the rest of the responses.

They called at 6:04 PM PST, and the only noise on the voicemail was what sounded to me like someone burping into the phone. They left a 1-second message.

I answered this call "Due to technical difficulties on our end we are unable to talk to you at this time.  Please accept our sincere apologies"  (click)


Stupid annoyance.   If they can't talk, why call ?

They leave messages that are along the lines of "Due to technical difficulties....."  If you pick up, there's a live person that claims he's from a police department or something like that. I can't wait to say "due to technical difficulties, we are unable to talk to you. Please accept our sincere apologies." and hang up!!

i got call from this number recording play "power outage at 8pm"

This caller SNJS WEST CA on my caller Id. Never leaves a message, and hangs up when I answer. Reporting number to the Federal Trade Commission.

Someone called me at home and asked for Mr. ______  (<my maiden name).  My husband said "nope, wrong number" and hung up.

7/1/2013-Keep getting a call from SNJS WEST 408-459-0631.  When I answer it the caller said "Due to technical difficulties we are unable to talk"...  No message is left when the answering machine picks up the call.....  I wish the NSA would crack down on this group!!!

I get these calls constantly.  I once made the mistake of answering the phone and now my phone number is held hostage.  It's outrageous that we have no recourse.

Just got a call with a recorded message something like 'due to technical difficulties we are unable to talk to you personally - good bye'. If they are from some kind of charity they sure than heck don't get my $. Bunch of creeps.

Calls all time of the day for a week.. No one on the other line..STOP!!!

These people keep calling and hanging up. I want them to stop calling me!

Answered a call from this number.  A recording "apologized" for the technical difficulties and not being able to take my call at this time.  I called the number and got a recorded sales pitch for event tickets.  Block this one.

Nope, it's a land line, not U-verse, though it is ATT.  I didn't get a voicemail, either.  I called the number back and they were talking about shows that have been donated, so maybe they are selling the tickets for charity?

Same message. Can't stop them.

Got call from this number today and yesterday. Caller ID is San Jose. The man claimed he is police officer from San Jose.

To anyone who is a Comcast phone customer- apparently they have a service that I just learned of whereby one can block specific numbers (yay!).  Guess which number I blocked first? You got it.  Here's how:  To activate Call Screening from your home phone
1.Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
2.Press *60.
3.Follow the prompts to activate and deactivate the feature - and to add, delete or review the numbers on your list. When creating your list, include the area code for local and long distance numbers.

I have received countless calls from this number.  The first several were automated with the same message described by others, "Due to technical difficulties we are unable to speak with you..." ?!?!  The calls have been as late as a couple minutes before 9pm on two occasions.  I have called back several times attempting to reach someone and complain.  No such luck.  There is a message that you all are all too familiar with-  "We apologize for any inconvenience...we are exempt from the Do Not Call List as we work for non-profit organizations.."  Yeah right.  I read the FCC rules for the exemption.  3rd party contractors are NOT exempt...only the non-profit entity itself.  Then the message says something about selling tickets for a benefit, but there is no actual attempt to sell tickets of any kind?  The message concludes by offering to place you on their private do not call list if you leave your full name, address, and phone number at the tone??! I think not.  I left my phone number only with a nasty message that I was reporting them to the police if they called me again, which I did!  Did this stop them? Nope.  Several calls while I was away last week.  Call tonight at almost 9pm, but an actual woman on the phone this time.  She claimed she worked on behalf of the Santa Cruz Police Department? I seriously doubt that! The SCPD doesn't engage in harassing behavior for donations. I told her off.  I told her I had already reported that # to the Do Not Call Registry and was sick of their calls. I told her it was almost 9pm at night! She apologized and hung up.  Anyone want to guess whether the calls will stop?  Yeah, me neither.

shouldn't we all answer in case these nuts are casing our homes to see who is home and who is not in order to invade?

Received a call from this number at 6PM this evening. Same prerecorded message reported by others, saying "Due to technical difficulties, we are unable to complete this call. Please accept our apologies."  They then hung up. I then called the number (thinking it was from a business contact), and it answered with another prerecorded message saying, "Due to technical difficulties, we were not able to complete our previous call to your home. Please accept our apologies. The call was concerning a sales opportunity..." I then immediately hung up and did not listen to the remainder of the message.

Definitely a scam, NOT a police charity. (BTW, there a numerous KNOWN scams out there claiming to be a police or fire department charity of some sort, but they are NOT affiliated with any such government agency, they are just scammers mining for your credit card and identity information. DO NOT RESPOND. Contact your local police/fire department directly, if you are interested in contributing to any of their charity drives, etc.)

Just got my first call from this number.  Got a recording saying they were not able to connect the call and disconnected.  Caller ID showed YMAX COMMS CORP and did a Google search on that.  Several websites about harassing calls.  I don't know the company and have no reason there is any relationship.  Fortunately they called my VoIP number and I have added them to my scammers list so it's good bye!

I've been getting the same exact phone calls as well...

Answered and there was silence.  When I said 'hello' again, also got the recording about a technical difficulty, apology that the call couldn't be completed, etc.

The only reason I answered was because it seemed more legit than most, was in a neighboring area code where I do a lot of business, etc.

They're still canvassing the San Jose area.
