These idiots call at least two times per day. Never leave a message. Picked up the phone and did not answer in hopes that they would think that the phone was out of order, but to no avail.

From what I've heard, these are not really from the police department, even though they say they are. Police departments have been warning people for years not to give to these people, as they are scammers.

this number is special sales call, its about benefit shows trying to sale tickets, there was no whey to leave message to take my number off there call list so I will just block there number

someone soliciting for Santa Clara County Deputy Sheriff office.... want to send a ticket to some basketball game than I send a check back when I get the ticket. Not sure who is doing their telemarketing but it's a 'boiler room'

Another one. Same recording, same nonsense.
I called back and left a nasty voice message. Don't know if it'll help, but maybe if more of us did that they'd get the message...
Or am I being naive?
As for the "technical difficulties", they're probably due to over-dialing -- when the auto-dialers make more calls than there are agents to speak.

The same story for me as described by many people. Machine answers when you pick up, and when you call back. There no way to tell them to stop. These calls come once, sometimes more, a day. I'm going to report them to do not call registry. Maybe it will help stoping these calls

Same here. Answered and got "Sorry due to technical difficulties....".
Called back and got a recording.
They purport to be selling $40 tickets to an unnamed event to benefit an unnamed non-profit.
They claim to be working for multiple non-profits, hence, exempt from the DoNotCall List.
They say they will remove you from their in-house list if you leave a message...
I'm worried it might be a pre-scam run to find numbers where someone answers...

First call came in 2/21/2014 @ 6:13 p.m. Second call came in 2/22/2014 @ noon.
Based on the caller's mo from previous posts, caller may be a scammer attempting to solicit donations for alleged police sponsored youth programs. Because the calls encompass more than the callers local area, it appears NOT to be "your" local police department making the calls.

We just got a call from this number. (2/20/2014 @ 2022 hrs.) It's from the "police department" trying to raise money for their PAL Program, burn foundations, etc. I did get a call the other day from this number, and when i answered, it said there were "technical difficulties" so I hung up. I really wish they were not exempt from the no-call lists.

Nobody to tell to take me off their calling list.
