I always get the last couple words in my voicemail... "your vehicle." It's really annoying and they call at any time of day. I called back and get a recording that "they are sorry if they reached the number in error they only purchase and call business listings." I get calls from a Nevada number that only hangs up and they have the same recording if you call back. You can press 1 to remove your number but they just call back from a different number. They never actually talk to me even if I answer so I don't get the point...

a voice recording of a woman calls at least twice a week from various numbers saying my warranty on my car is up...so annoying and i dont know how to block it i always just hang up...

These people call every few days about a vehicle warranty expiring!  How can I prevent them from doing this  in the future!!!!  It's a scam!!!!

Today was the first time I received a call from this number (408-587-2143) and was not home, but it recorded on my call display.  I do not use an answering machine.  The call was listed as being from HELP LINE -- a new one for me!  My usual action is to not answer calls where I do not know the identifying number/ID, then I come in and look on this web site.  The other messages I saw today are all from the summer of 2008, it appears.  So maybe someone else is using this number now.  There is no reason I should be called by any "help line" so it looks like a major scam.  I am reporting it because I think folks might be fooled by the "help line" ID.  It should be totally illegal to falsify caller ID info like this, in my opinion.  I'm also on the federal "Do Not Call" register, so I will be reporting there, as well.

I experienced the same problems that others are complaining about with these calls.  Their hanging up the phone when I asked them to identify themselves made me just furious.  I finally got pissed and told one of the girls, "I heard your mother has a nice t**t," or "I'd rather pay pennies to get laid by your mom."  This girl gasped, as if not expecting such a raunchy response.  In reality, I had no interest in doing the above activities, but it was lots of fun to piss back at them.  I call it turning lemons into lemonade.  After doing that a couple of times, the calls finally ceased.  I later told my dad what I said to them, and he said to me, "Tim, that is so crude and rude and unacceptable to speak to somebody like that," but I don't care.  Hanging up the phone is like a punch in the face, and anyone who does it to me WILL suffer the consequences.

I'm getting automated call from 408-587-2143 stating that my warranty is going to expire. I have asked them not to call me and take my number off their calling list and when I try to explain that I have already asked to to take my number off, they just hung up on me.  I get calls like this every single day.

THIS IS A SCAM!  It is prorbably one of those schemes designed to search out working US phone numbers, which probably originates overseas.. so the FTC can't do much about them.   From what I hear..these Scum make up numbers then, then attempt to "capture" the working phone numbers to sell.. if you answer their call, call them back, or push the # to get taken all their "caller list"  they got your number..and you think they care about honoring your request not to call you again?   Wake up, people.. Americans are being stalked by everthing from I.f. terrorists, to Porn addicts and predatory-hacking thieves from around the world.. good luck

I figured it out guys.  I got the number from the website Maryann posted- 603-685-0200.  She asked for the car and year.  I told her I have a 2007 Maserati.  She said they don't cover those.  She was pleasant, took down my phone number, and said I would not be receiving calls anymore.
The only thing that would make this complete is if I could afford a Maserati!

Hello. I received calls from multiple numbers (below are only three). I asked to be removed each time and then I started to receive calls from an unknown number.  Finally I acted as if I wanted to sign up for the warantee and asked for the company contact information.  It's available at www.generalwarrantyservices.com.  I submitted a complaint about their marketing practices at the New Hampshire Better Business Bureau, and emailed every employee they have listed on their site that I have done so.

Calls I received (only within the last 12 days) have been from 408-587-2143, 818-870-8115, and 909-842-8171.

I encourage you to file a complaint as well.

I received a text saying a friend of mine left a message for me, the text said to call 408-970-9000 to listen to the message.. I'm sure this is a scam, my friend never sent that to me

Like everyone else, I'm getting an automated call stating that my auto warranty has expired.  I've pressed 2 to be taken off the list, I've pressed 1 to speak to a live person and was hung up on, and I've tried calling back the numbers with no luck.  Today I filed a complaint with the FCC.  Hopefully, the calls will stop.  Here are just some of the numbers I've recieved the call from:
