I got a message from them they wanted my card number.

I received a text message too saying, "SunEastFCU requests all members to contact our SecurityDepartment at: 4086547686" The text is from a Pennsylvania phone number and started around July 30th, 2009. The text is not legit and the cell phone owner did NOT send out this message. I have personally spoken with the owner of the cell phone number and he is extremely upset about this. He has recorded a voice mail that the number is not legit nor is the company. Please do not report his phone number, the text is from. He is not responsible. I will post this warning under his phone number on the reverse look up as well. Please do not file any complaints with any websites. Just make a note about it. The more notes that are filed under THIS reverse phone number look up will be investigated. I got the same text message! It said to call 408-654-7686.

got a txt stating they wanted me to call this number and talk to Sun East Credit union, Security Dept.  the person who sent it forgot to take off his cell number it is  from 610-496-0008.  I called and got this dude Chris's voice mail stating he wasn't available and his mailbox was full.

Received a text message today to call SunEeastFCU security department 408-654-7686 from 610-496-0008, I don't even have an account or CC from there at all.

NORFOLK ? It?s been awhile since Ross Anderson lived in Hampton Roads, but he still has a cell phone number with the 757 area code. As he left a dentist appointment in his current home state of Florida, he found the phone loaded up with messages from people in our area, people the 33-year-old didn?t know.

 

?Anything you can imagine,? Anderson describes them, ?voice messages, anything from, you know, cursing at me, calling me names. I?ve been reported. I?m being reported. ?You?re going to jail.??

 

Anderson says the source of his troubles was a text message. The callers received it, as did others who chose to send their own text messages in response to it. Everyone believed Anderson sent the original which read: ?MSG:?AmphibiousBaseNavalBaseFCU"requests all members to contact our security department?,?? finishing up with a contact number in California. The text message showed it originated from Anderson?s cell phone, listing his number at the top of it.

 

?It?s not me. By no means is it me, and that?s it. The ones that called me up with dirty messages, sorry, but it wasn?t me.?

 

13News called the number listed in California. A recorded message asks, in part, ?Please, follow the next steps to easily reactivate your card within a few minutes.? It goes on to say, ?You will be asked to provide three additional pieces of information, including your card number?Please, enter your 16-digit card number.?

 

Some websites flag the telephone number as a ploy to get financial information, with several people warning others not to fall for it. A few of those warnings say the number has been attached to other ?credit unions? with the same goal of learning personal information. Those same websites now list Anderson?s cell phone number, despite the fact that he has nothing to do with situation, other than having his  number misused by someone he doesn?t know.

 

?It?s a total violation,? he says. ?This is annoying me to death.?

I ALSO GOT THIS MESSAGE TO CALL FOOTHILLS C.U. @ 408-654-7686 BUT THERE WAS A LOCAL NUMBER ON THAT TEXT BEFORE THE MESSAGE. I CALLED THEM TO TELL THEM WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS THEY ARE, FIRST OFF I DONT BELONG TO ANY BANK BY THAT NAME, I TOLD THEM THIER RECORDING SUCKED IT DIDNT EVEN SOUND REAL AND I ALSO TOLD THEM THAT GOD WOULD PUNISH THEM IN THE AFTERLIFE FOR BEING THIEFS AND LIARS.

I had the same message, but it was from 747-285-0000

I got one too and it is a scam!!! I called and it was a recorded message and they asked me for my credit card number.  I didn't give it to them.  I called my bank and they are reporting the number as well.  THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!

I just got the exact same message. I did not call them.

I just received the text message from AmphibiousBaseNavalBaseFCU with the call back number of 408-654-7686. I don't even have a card with this company. I'm not wasting my minutes to call them. I'm glad I have unlimited texts. Also, the caller ID is weird, it says 10101000002. But the message says FRM: 757-285-0000

This is an SMS text message phishing scam.  Is is apparently nationwide using several different credit union names.

Got a call from Amphibious Base FCU asking for all memebers to call their securtiy department @ 408-654-7686.  BS...not me!

Same scam this time Foothills CU from 303-472-2846 stating "request all members to contact our security department toady at 4086547686 for a security update.

I also received a text that said I neeed to contact the AmphibiousBaseNavalBaseFCU @ 408-654-7686 and they only want your credit card info to re-activate you card... The text came from the # 757-328-0000. Don't give in the this BS!!!!  When I called back it said it was a Sprint PCS cellphone

You can't...anymore than you can stop someone from calling you and using up your minutes.

This is definitely a phishing scam to get you to reveal you personal account # and password.

Received similar text this morning from same number that read,

On July 20th I received this message,

I also got a text today that stated "request all members to contact our security department toady at 4086547886." how can i stop from receiving this i get charges for tex messages.......

text message from place claiming to be SunEastFCU; told me to call that number.  I think it's just a phishing scam -- I've gotten numerous texts from that place.
