I get a call from this number everyday but don't know who it is so i won't be answering.

this # has been calling since 2nd week of august 2008. Don't know, so i don't answer. (and they do not leave msgs) hopeful scammer of some sort?

The person called me two times, once last night at 10 AM, and today at 5. Never answered, but is bothering me. I hope he will not start calling me often.

SJ Mercury news from what I can gather. Have been getting one a day for the past couple weeks. Just got another few minutes ago and it will be their last. They are now blocked, one of the few good things about VOIP.

Call the number back and you will here a recorded message to repeat your phone # twice and you will then be removed from the call list. And yes it is for the SJ Mercury news.

The number apparently belongs to the San Jose Mercury News. They keep calling me from this number trying to sell me a subscription. Telling them no doesn't work...they keep calling, sometimes twice a day. Guess I'll just block the number...they should eventually go away.

San Jose Mercury news truly is harassing people with their telemarketing. I cancelled my account, and have asked 3 separate people to stop calling and I still get calls.

As others have already reported, this caller calls numbers letting their phones ring, and then RUDELY hangs up with NO message. Telephone numbers most certainly on the DNC list too!  Other online places I've found that are reporting the same calls by this caller are http://whocalled.us/lookup/4088081302 and http://phoneowner.info/Number.aspx/4088081302 .  This behaviour must stop!

I receive calls from this phone number at least once a day on my work line.

Unfortunately, when I have picked up, they try to sell me a subscription to the San Jose Mercury News. I have not been taken off their list in spite of me saying that I'm not interested and that I would like to be taken off the list. I envy the people that pick up these calls and get either no one on the other end or a hang up.

This is very poor business practice as I have told everyone I know in the San Jose area not to subscribe to their paper. Word of mouth is the best way to kill a business, and this is a legitimate complaint. Why subscribe to a newspaper that harasses their target audience when I can get my news instantly for free?

Calls me 1 time a day...stupid a** holes

They call every night at the same time after 8pm. I just called them back and got the automated message giving me directions to have my number removed. I just registered my cell phone with the Do Not call registry. In any event I'm gonna send in a complaint to the San Jose Mercury and I suggest everyone let them know that as long as they continue to hire these people to harass people we will NEVER read there paper.

It's a subscription call from the San Jose Mercury News.

Called my work to sell the tri valley newspaper.. while other sales people in that office are calling the other open lines on our switchboard from the same number.

Got a call on my cellphone today. Did not pick up. No message left.

Unknown caller...

I did not answer the phone call as I screen all my incoming calls.

But whoever it was calling did not get me, as I have caller ID on my phone.

If I don't know who's calling I don't pick-up.

Received call from this number but when call answered, no one there.  Tried calling the number but there's no answer.

i'v got 2 of these calls 18th, 2 on the 19th, and 2 on the 20th. some where 9am - 12pm. i'v called back on the 18th but the mailboxs where full
then agen on the 20th i called back i pessed 0, 0, 0, 0. i got mailbox i left a mesage it as me to repeat the mesage. here it is the 20th and more
came in.

This place keeps calling me too.  If anyone knows how to get rid of them please let me know.

THEY ARE F****N ANNOYING

Hello there, just got the call from them, I called the number back and if you listen to the greeting the whole way through you will find that all you have to do is leave a message with your phone number and request that you be removed from their calling list.  I just did that and I hope they stop calling.  I will keep you all posted.

This is the third time they called my house so if they call again I'm going to speak either in Japanese,Spanish Or Italian they are so freaking annoying. Last time i pretended to be a Arabic seller and they still called WTF
