Caller calls all the time and hangs up

I believe this number is for the PAL, Police Athletic League.  They are looking for donations, which may include tickets to the circus.  At least that was my experience.

I googled and went to http://sbcommunity.forumotion.com/.  Apparently, this seems to be some kind of secretive messaging for someone else inside the home from other anonymous callers.  If you take a look at their forum, they asked questions about retrieving messages from their inboxes.

My husband admitted that he met a girl he was very attracted to overseas in Quatar and wanted "a not long term relationship" with her, but "he didn't do anything"  All of the sudden, ever since he has been home, we started getting these SBC messaging phone calls the past couple of months.   Prior to this, I have been receiving phone calls from females saying, "I'm sorry, I must have the wrong number" as soon as I answer the phone...not sure if this was her way of signaling him that she wants to talk to him.  I've been just going crazy over this and would very much like to find out how to get a hold of these messages.  

If anyone knows about this, please help me.  Thank you.

I've started getting calls from SBC messaging also, but the number on my called ID is 510-981-4570. I recently changed my home phone # and immediately registered with the 'do not call' list as well. What gives?

SBC Messaging is a one person operation out of Berkeley, CA. She (or he) probably uses "disposable" phone numbers to confuse automated attempts to block their calls via your teleco's call blocking feature.

The do not call list exempts charity organizations & business which you have done business with in the past.  Personally, I rarely give my real telephone number out to anyone I do not know and trust. As a matter of fact, I have been known to provide the non emergency number to a law enforcement agency when requested by a business that I do not patronize on a regular basis. Mean spirited I guess,

I keep getting a call from this number saying "sorry couldn't speak to you because of an error on our end".  Please see that whoever it is stops calling

I got calls from this number many times. Do not leave any message and just blank call I guess to check if anyone is at home or not. I am a fraud victim and I am wondering if identity thief is using this service to check if I am picking phone or not. Do u have any more information and how can we stop getting calls from this number ?

Caller ID said SBC MESSAGING. I didn't recognize this caller so I let my answering service take the call - no message - just the recording of the phone hanging up. The previous post on this site mentioning the "$40 family ticket" offer makes me think this is some sort of scam.

policy deputy claiming a bull-riding event at "cow palace" is to raise cash for disabled kids and costs $40 for a ticket for 5 people. I asked for a website and he said "what for? I'm telling you about it now." Apart from the fact that I don't approve of bull riding, unless they can point to event details in newspaper/internet I'm not going to be interested in any such event.

I GET MANY CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER AT VARIOUS TIMES OF THE DAY/NIGHT. HOWEVER I DON'T PICK UP ON CALLS FROM UNKNOWN NUMBERS & THEY NEVER LEAVE MESSAGES ON MY VOICEMAIL. IT'S STARTING TO SOUND LIKE A SCAM BASED ON WHAT I'VE READ HERE.WHERE DO WE REPORT THIS TYPE OF ACTIVITY? IS IT EVEN ILLEGAL? OR JUST A
NUISSANCE?

Please report this to the FCC at the following link:  esupport.fcc.gov.  The more of us who report it, the more likely these annoying calls will finally stop.

As soon as I see a call is from an unknown caller, I pick up and IMMEDIATELY disconnect so I don't have to listen to the phone ringing or my answering machine.  My "Do Not Call" status is current, why do I keep getting calls from these people?

I get about 5 to 10 calls a day caller id says SBC Messaging but the number is 714-830-0564.
As stated they never leave a message and I am on the do not call list. So sick of them

WHY would you put your phone number on here? Now you WILL be bombarded by scammers. Either ignore the calls, or block them. NEVER post your phone number. Do you really homestly think they are going to abide by your request? The answer is no - you are leaving yourself open to A LOT of unwanted calls.

I get at least one call a day from SBC Messaging  They never leave a message.  I am on the do not solicit call list and still they call,  very annoying!

They are right.  Charities are exempt from the Do Not Call law.  Even when the charity hires a telemarketer to make the calls and the calling company keeps 70% or more of every donation to cover expenses.  

I never donate to anyone who calls me.

I just got a call from this number,  He claimed that because it is a
charity they are not subject to the do not call list.  :-(

I get a call every night at 8:30pm and it wakes up our baby. Every night.

SBC messaging on caller ID. I pick it up and it says "sorry goodbye".

I think a computer is predictive-dialing random numbers, then if you pick up, it marks the number as "active". They can resell this list of 'verified' numbers...

Also added my number to Do not call list. It's been months since I added my number but they still keep calling.

408-865-9431 has called every day for several weeks.   Digital Readout says it is from SBC Messaging.  I am on DO NOT CALL List and want these annoying calls to cease.    

How can I make these calls stop?

Picked up the phone because I thought it might be official.  Caller ID said SBC Messaging.  It was a firefighter fundraising call!   Annoying.

I got the call last night and this morning.  The message was a partial message.  Something to do with "Please accept our sincere apology."

Repeated  calls and hang ups. When I  called the number displayed I am told about tickets that can be purchased for a nonprofit.
I am very upset about this intrusion.

I have gotten repeated calls that show up as "SBC Messaging".  When they are answered there is no response.  The callerID does not show up as they calls are received in the 408 area code, but forwarded to a number in the 510 area code.  I got this thread by googling SBC messaging

Got the same apology run-around... 408 865 9448 and calling every other day.  We are on a don't call list, but...

got a call from SBC Messaging but no one saying anything.  I called back this number and it is recorded message for selling some family ticket.
