I left them a message (Sacramento Bee) that if they called my number again, I would take action....well, these dumbasses called again and the BBB just got back to me with a successful case number.  I sent the BBB my complaint, detailed as similar to all the complaints in the forum, and now have a case to work with.  Absolutely tired of companies thinking your phone number is theirs to play with.  I wholeheartedly recommend each and every one of you to open a case to the BBB, that may get their attention.  Regardless of what or who is behind these calls (It is some media group working for the Sacramento Bee), a single request to stop calling is all that should be needed.  They also try to switch numbers around.  Well, below is my case to prove it can be done.

They have done this too me as well. I get the same name when calling the number back. Getting tired of these j*** off's that keep calling our cell phones, etc.

They call every day and hang up when I answer. When I dial back an answering machine comes on and says Standard Media Group. I have left messages not to call me or face legal action. According to 800notes.com they are trying to sell subscriptions. They are in violation of the Federal Do Not Call list and laws. They have done this 4 times in the last 3 days alone.

Called me, i did not pick puc b/c don't recognize the number. No message left

Kept calling like it was drunk ex-gf.  Called it back and a Chinese/Asian lady answered.  I think it was about buying virtual gold for WoW.  Googled it and there it is, safemmogold and mmogoldsonline.

This number has called me twice and left no message.

i answered and it was the santa cruz chronicle paper offer.
i asked nicely to stop calling me and she instantly hung up on me.

Just got this call about 10 minutes ago. I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.

I got a call on my cellular phone a few minutes ago. It is a lady trying to lure me into subscription of a newspaper.

No message left.  Called back, and was told it was "Turnkey Solutions."  Googling that name yields an enterprise software partner with HP.  Unlikely that this is the real caller identity.  This all seems scammish.

They called me up on my land line and when I picked it up the message says that it is Turnkey Solutions. I dont know what the heck is that...

As the phone rang with this #, I immediately google the # and got me to this page. I pick up the phone and said "thank you for calling san jose mercury news paper, would you like to subscribe to our daily news paper delivery today?" hahahah they hung up and I bet they will never call again hahahahah!

Got two calls from this number. Caller id said saratoga CA. didnt answer as i didnt know anyone from saratoga and do not recognize the number. No message left either.

trying to sell subscriptions to San Francisco Chronicle

Received a missed call on my cell phone from this number. Didn't answer it - they didn't leave a voicemail.

They called me too and hung up when it got to voicemail. I didn't answer it since I Didn't recognize the number...

I got call twice, first time I didn't answer, 2nd time, A lady asked me about some thing. I asked her to repeat. When I try to call, it giving busy sound.

hung up as soon as we answered.

asked if my parents were available, i said no then they hung up. it was a lady
