THese people have called me now over 10 times after my 22 year old son who workes all the time.
They said if I didn't pay the amount they were giving me they were coming to arrest him, we got into an argument after I pressed them for information. I am scared because he called me every name in the book, I don't think I have ever been called the names he called me they all started with bloody, and he also called my 80 year old mother awful names. He then called back and said he was coming to get me and he had my sons social security number and he would see to it that he ruined his life. I kinda wished I had'nt mad them mad!

I originally received a call from Mike Johnson, he stated that I owed $989.96 for an unpaid payday advance loan. My husband paid $545 to him. Also, I got another call frim Justin Jerman stating that I still owed $250.00., again my husband paid this.  On 9-1-11 I received another call from Tom O'Brien and he stated that he was with the Department of Justice.  I have found that this is a fraud and all of these men that keep calling and harrasing me are the same man just using different names and they all are indian as the only thing they can do is call and scream at me that I owe them money and they will see to it that I lose my job, my home and everything I have in the bank and will also do jail time it I don't pay.  Per my local Police Department, this is a fraud/scam and I am not to pay them any more money and I have now gones to my back for a credit back of all there payment.

I received calls from this number daily both my cell and work... When I asked why he was calling all he would said is that it is a federal matter and that I have felony charges against me and if I dont speak with him he will have officers at my office the next day to pick me up... I told him to do just that.. I also told him that my husband is a police officer and I am to advise him that our conversation is being recorded... He immediately hung up the phone... Two days later, same call, same conversation.. Told him if he wanted to have me arrested then I will be waiting for him.. He then asked my what my work address was, really???? I proceeded to tell him that our conversation was being recorded and that I have filed a police report for the harrasement from his number.. These people are relentless they will keep calling and continue to be nasty to you... Do not provide them with any of your information and what ever you do "DO NOT CALL THEM BACK" then can connect into your mobile or home number and rack up $$$$ in charges...

You can file a mountain of complaints, but it will do no good.   Officer Sean Martin is a complete fraud.  This is a criminal gang based in India that  makes these calls demanding immediate payment or get sued or arrested or fired or something.  Unless you can get the Indian government to take action, (fat chance) they will call till doomsday.    The FBI has some info on this at FBI.GOV, but it won't stop the calls.   Best bet is to just block their number and make your employees aware of what is going on.   If he calls again, simply tell him you know he is a crook and (you, your employee etc) have no intention of  paying him anything no matter how many times he calls.   Once he's convinced you're a dry hole, he'll eventually move on.   The US government and state department really aren't doing anything about it, but you may want to send a complaint to your congressman about this.  Maybe enough heat will get them to do something.

I received a call from a gentleman with an Indian accent requesting to speak with my employee. I requested his name and company information and he expressed that his name was Officer Sean Martin and that he was with the criminal bureau of investigation. I attempted to ask him how he obtained our number and that is when he became combative and called me a "bloody b----". (very rude) He continued to call throughout the day and I will be filing a complaint.
See directions below on how to file a complaint.

How to Complain about a Debt Collector: Tips on Suing
What can I do if a debt collector violates the law?

If you have exhausted all strategies in dealing with the debt collector as described in this guide and the collector continues to use illegal, unfair and abusive practices, you may file a complaint, sue the collector, or both. We explain how to file a complaint below, and provide tips for suing a collector at the end of this section.

?Federal Trade Commission. (www.ftc.gov) The FTC is the government agency that enforces the FDCPA. It may bring an action in federal district court against a debt collector that violates the law. Understandably, the agency does not have the resources to bring a court action on behalf of an individual or against every collector about which it receives a complaint. But the agency can and does take action against the most egregious offenders.
The FTC's primary source of information about abusive collection practices is through consumer complaints. It offers an online complaint form on its web site, www.ftc.gov. The address for mailing complaints is provided in References, Part 11.

To learn more about the types of debt collector complaints the FTC receives and actions it has brought against collectors, see the agency's most recent report to Congress on the FDCPA, www.ftc.gov/opa/2006/04/fyi0621.htm.

?State Attorney General or State Office of Consumer Protection. State officials may enforce the FDCPA as well as state collection laws. Before submitting a complaint to your state officials, check to see if your state has its own collection law (see Part 5 and Attachment A). When writing your complaint letter, be sure to describe a collection agency's actions that violate the FDCPA as well as those that violate the law in your state. Keep detailed notes, correspondence, and recordings of any documents or messages that may indicate the collector has violated state or federal laws.
?Debt Collector Associations. The American Collectors Association is a national organization made up of member collection agencies. To become a member, a collection agency must agree to follow the FDCPA and a set of industry standards. A complaint against a member debt collector may be made through the organization's web site, www.acainternational.org/intcontent.aspx (click on "Contact ACA"), or by writing the Association at the address in Part 11 at the end of this guide.
Debt collectors may also be members of a statewide association. In California, that's the California Association of Collectors. This state organization's web site has a list of member collectors (see Part 11). To find out whether a collector association has been organized in your state, consult the white pages of your telephone director or try an Internet search.

What should I include in a complaint to a government agency?

Here are some general tips about writing a complaint letter:

?Get organized before you begin to write your complaint. This is where your file will come in handy. Keep good notes of dates, representative's names, and details of any conversations, correspondence or personal contact. Keep originals of all correspondence you send and receive.
?Create a chronology or timeline from your file. Always start with the date of the first contact by the debt collector. Your chronology does not have to be elaborate. It can be as simple as putting all your notes, letters and other documents in date order. Attach copies, not originals, of any documents, like a paid receipt, that support your version of events and strengthen your arguments. Keep your originals in your file.
?Select only major points or important details to include in your complaint. Not every contact by a debt collector amounts to an abusive practice. For instance, it is not necessary to include every telephone call made from a debt collector in your complaint letter -- unless the telephone calls are made at odd hours, are harassing, or are calls made to your employer after the collector has been informed that you are not permitted to accept such calls.
?Summarize minor points. Frequent contacts that did not include abusive practices, may simply be noted in a summary statement. For example, "Between January 1 and February 1, the collection agency contacted me fifteen times." If you are unsure about what should be included in your complaint, review the prohibited practices under the FDCPA explained in Part 2 and Part 3 in this guide and in publications in the References section in Part 11.
?Start your letter by giving the first date you were contacted by the collection agency. This is a critical date. It can go a long way in supporting your complaint or lawsuit if the problem cannot be resolved otherwise. The original date of contact can establish, for example, that you have been attempting to resolve the problem directly with the collector for a long time. This date can also show that the collection agency did not, as required by law, follow up a telephone contact with a written notice within the five days required by law.
?The tone of your letter should be business-like and to the point. To hold the attention of the agency official or others who read your complaint, you should briefly state who, what, and when. Be concise. Simply explain the actions by the collector you feel were abusive and violations of the law.
May I sue a collection agency?

Yes. The FDCPA allows individuals and class action plaintiffs to sue in federal or state court within a year of the violation. Under the FDCPA, if you win, you may recover actual damages plus up to $1,000. Attorney fees and court costs may also be recovered. Members of a class action may recover actual damages plus a total of $500,000 or one percent of the net worth of the debt collector. Attachment A to this guide, www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs27plus.htm, may have information about collection laws in your state.

There are many private practice attorneys who specialize in assisting consumers who have experienced violations of state and federal debt collection laws. The web site of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, www.naca.net, provides a directory of member attorneys. The search process enables you to find attorneys near you and to specify those with debt collection experience, http://members.naca.net/findanattorney/ .

This Guy called my husband's cell phone and left a message saying he was investigating a criminal case. Since my husband was working I called and the guy who had a bad attitude answered and I asked to talk to  " officer " Shawn Martin..or so he likes to be called that. All he said is that my husband took out a loan and how they wanted to take us to the Federal court in PA. And how our court hearing is Tomorrow Morning at 10 unless we pay him 598.00. Now thats when I started getting angry. Because he wasnt listening to me. And I know that you have to be served papers..to take us to court. So I gave him attitude saying fine arrest me and hung up on him. Then he called back threatening me saying he is going to make my life a li0ving hell..and he is going to arrest my husband in 30 minutes..lol. Needless to say..he called back less then 5 minutes..acting like that conversation 5 minutes go did not take place. He started asking about me...what size figure am I? I said I was going to call my local authorites on him..and I hung up. I called that company back and asked to talk to a***ole's supervisor and he asked me the same question what is my figure. This number is fraud..don't give them money..and call your local police!!

Well I have recieved numerous call today at work from "James Brown". James had a very thick indian accent and claimed that he was calling from the B.C.I. (Bureau of Criminal Investigations) in Texas. He advised me that I was going to jail for a cash advance and cited me my full social security number. I advised him that I have never been in Texas and that he is mistaken. I promptly hung up. Then he called my employer back and I had his message placed into voicemail. The idiot left a voice mail message claiming I was going to jail again and that he was sending mobsters after me. He left the same number of: (409) 655-3009. The hilarious part of this is that I work for a law firm. I promptly called my boss and notified a few other attorneys and had them listen to the voice mail. We all concluded this is a scam and notifed the authorities. So whatever you do, do not pay these people money. Notify the FBI and you local police and if you can get them to leave you a message.

I have recieved close to 50 calls from this number from "John McClain" sexually harassing me.  He originally was calling for whomever had my number before I did, and then called me another 48 times.
When I asked to talk to his supervisor; the supervisor only told me that he was going to "take him into his cabin and kick him"
I'm not sure how that was going to help; but I filed a police report anyway

I received a call from a Indian speaking man who said his name was Officer David Cooper with the Bureau Criminal Investigation (BCI) and that I have had many serious complaints allegations against me concerning my the use of my SSN#, his message said if I did not call him asap after hearing his message then he will be forced to download my files to file charges against me and have a warrant for my arrest for fraud. I was at work freaking out in my office thinking what the beep is this guy talking about so I and called the # back that he left 409 655-3009 ext 3174 so I called this # and a man (Indian access) answers “ BCI how may I direct your call, I asked for officer Cooper, they put me through to him, which sounded bogus, the operator just pressed the # keys and I could hear it beeping like they where supposedly putting me through to this Office Coopers extension, then a man came on the line, who said he was glad I called him back promptly that it could be a serious risk for myself if I didn’t intend to clear up this matter. I asked him what the charges are and what did I supposedly do, he tells me “I took a loan out from a payday loan company for 300.00  and I did not pay it back and that criminal charges would be filed  against me if I didn’t take care of this debt that I owed. He proceeded to tell me my bank, and he had my SSN# when he spouted off my SSN# I was almost in a panic I started to feel sick, the guy wouldn’t stop to listen to me,  he asked what I intended to do to take care of this matter. He then gives me his name which this time it’s not officer David Cooper but officer Samuel Baxter I hadn’t realized it was a different name at that moment then the one he left on my voice mail until I had my co-worker listen to my message and realized he said a different name .  I told him I wasn’t going to do anything until I check my account that this money was “supposedly” deposited into, and would need some time to do that,  He told me if I did not intend to clear up this matter immediately  I would be facing criminal charges and the police would issuing  a warrant for my arrest. He even told me the name of the town I live in and had my email address. He told me I had until 5:00 pm pacific time to contact him with my intentions. I asked him where he was calling from, because the caller id on my phone said it was from Ontario Canada I tried calling that # first before I called the 409 # and it just gave you an operator recording it was not a valid #.  It scared me enough to talk to a co-worker about it and she said you have been scammed that anytime you get a 409 area code it’s going to be a scam, she Googled the phone # and it came up to this website and many more, I started reading other peoples complaints and they were saying the same thing I had just went through. I  read the article from abc news and I was so mad, as soon as I got home I checked my account all the way back to Jan and of course I knew that I hadn’t overlooked a 300.00 deposit to my account. I then received another call and he leaves a message on my voice mail at 4:30 , which he told me I had to call him by 5:00 pm,  he threatens me with intent to proceed with filing the charges, since I was not making it clear to him that I was making the right choice to clear this matter up and that I could avoid criminal charges if I would clear the debt and that he would be able to process payment to take care of these serious charges against me, if I didn’t contact him by 5:00, I then called him as soon as I heard that message, and let him know I have filed a complaint with the FBI fraud department, I filled out the complaint at the internet website and if he ever called me and harassed me again I would be making every attempt in public forums, newspaper articles about the scam you have going on and I will write my congressman and send copies of the voice mails that I received to the District Attorney for my area and see what can we do. I said “DON’T YOU EVER CALL MY # AGAIN” you #%#^#& son of *&^$&$%$ . I didn’t get another call from the fraud.
