This is Bank of America. I reported fraudulent charges on my account and this is the Fraud section (Card Services) of BOA. They were returning my call. Not a scam.

My answering machine had a hang up call today 9/29 at 9 something am. The caller id gave "Cockysvl md and the number 410-229-6957.
I called the number to ask what they wanted, and the recorded message says "This is an unattended number, please call 1-888-680-6945."
When I call, it asks for my party's extension. I tried zero and it replied that it must be a 5 digit number. I tried 5 zeros and it went to a fast beep and disconnected.
I'll try to guess an extension and get hold of someone and tell them to not call me ever again.
I'm on the "Do not call registry" and have an unlisted, unpublished number. Are auto dialers in Fl illegal?
I don't do business with Bank of America that I know of (one of my credit card's banks may have recently been acquired by BoA with out my realizing it).
I am not late on any payments, and have no clue what this could be other than a solicitation or a scam.

It was a legitimate call. I called B of A and asked about it and they confirmed that there were notations in my file that I had just been called and my income and place of employmen were updated. The caller knew the last 4 digits of my account and did not ask for birthday, SS# or any other detailed info, plus they knew my last payment amount and date.
Always good to be cautious and I was relieved to find out it was a real call.

This number called me this morning, but I was not able to answer it. It did not leave a voice mail. So I did not know who it was. However, last night, I called up BOA to increase my credit limit. The guy I talked to gave me a number to call to verify if the request was approved. It is a different number from this one. After reading all the posts here, I suspect it is a number from a credit card company, not sure though if it is BOA. I will be careful though in giving out any info to this number.

Definate scam- called, tried to fish personal information. Very suspicious. Called "Card Services"- I told them that I was on the do not call list and I am not kidding, the representitive told me to F*$# off and hung up! Do not trust these scumbags in any context, they are not from Bank of America or any other legitimate card services, report to police if they call you.

I don't know who this is...they never left a message. I do not have a BOA credit card only checking/savings account with them. I did apply for a CSR position with them but they called from a local number. BOA has my real number for banking intrests and I put my google number on my resume which is the number this company called.

Called 5 times today. Appeared to be a fax. I attempted to fax the same number and it advised to call 302 453 9930. Which I did call and spoke to Dianna who advised that the number belonged to FIA Card Services.

I can't believe I fell for this. They left a message saying they were Bank of America and knew our names. They asked us to call 1-888-831-4181. Since we were not behind on anything I became concerned. They were so convincing that I verified my address and SSN. When they said they just wanted to "reacquaint" with customers and asked my income I said they were making me feel uncomfortable and they politely said goodbye. I call BOC and they could not verify either of those numbers. Now I'm paying for extra ID theft protection. (the caller ID should have been a red flag!) Geeeesh!

They called and screamed and claimed to be a senior manager @ BOA. I tried to called the number back 4102296957, it said the number is not in service.

The call was from Cockeysville MD on caller ID. The guy said he was from Bank of America and I should call back and that this was not a "sales call." He first wanted my DOB and then asked for my mother's maiden name, which I refused to provide. I told them to just let me speak to the person (and I gave his name) who left me the message. He said he did not know if he could do that...??? I told them that I had no idea who they were and I was not not giving out any information. He said he was going to pull up my account, put me on hold, and then came back on and started asking more questions saying my account had "come up for review." I didn't believe him. I haven't used this card in quite a while - I had to agree to stop using it or they would raise my rate to a much higher one. So I would be very careful about this. Don't give them any information.

My husband and I both got calls from this number several times since two months ago. They said that they are FIA card service and said they are calling about about our credit card, but the fact is that that creadit card was already closed by us at least 1 year ago. They asked us to verify our personal information like SSN ect. and we refused them because we are not sure if this is scam or not. Since then, they kept calling us and left messages day and night, which is so annoying. Finally, after long disucssion with them, we asked them not call us anymore and they agreed. Hopefully we will not be bothered by them anymore.

I also receive a call from this number, they call my home, business and cell, finally I answer thinking it must be important,he said he was from bank of america and wanted to resolved some issue with my credit report, then he said before he could I should verified my birth date,I told him I would not give personal information over the phone,he still insisted he need to know if I was who I said I was so I should say yes or no,he had all my information and still could not tell me what he was trying to do,I did not confirm anything with him,he got it from somewhere so I am just waiting to see when my bills come then I will deal with it and the right person then.

I got a call from this number. Introduced himself as a Senior Credit Analyst and wanted to talk to me about some business request I had put in recently with Bank of America. Initially I refused to give out my information and asked him several questions as to find he is a Legit. He gave all my details as they were on the file in front of him and THEN said that he is calling in order or increase/deny my request to change the credit limit on my Bank of America Credit Card. We went through all the questions regarding my income, rental, and other personal expenses. After the detailing, he congratulated me and said that my credit limit will be increased to $12,000.00. As I was online, immediately checked my credit limit and saw that my limit was increased to Twelve Thousand Dollars.
It was a legitimate Caller. Dont panic but be cautious

This is Bank of America calling from a Baltimore number. They don't use 800 numbers to call out. It just dials from a local number. It's legit.

It is Bank of America. They are reducing everyone's credit limit. You can't do anything about it.

Who knows whether this number is legitimate or not. I was polite at first and asked them to send the information to me by mail without giving them a bit of information. When he told me they didn't do things by mail, I ditched the call. If they are legitimate, they will send information with full details via the USPS.
