I never give to these phone solicitors.  My daughter worked for one of those companies, what a ripoff.  The charities got nothing.. And I don't answer spoofed phone numbers either.

They call at least once every month and they always use my first name like they have know me.  They never address me as Mrs. Bahr.  They don't take NO for an answer and you have to literally be rude and hang up on them.  The news has told us that the police never call and solicit for money on the phone so I don't think that this is a legitimate place. of business.  On my caller ID is always comes up unknown caller instead of the name of a place or the name Fraternal Order of the Police.  In my opinion I feel this is a source of harassment because I continue getting the phone calls over and over.  If I said no and that was the end of it than there wouldn't be a problem but when you continue to call every month thinking the answer is going to change well like I stated it is harassment.  Thank you for taking my complaint.

Received a call from this number at about 20:30 on Sunday night.  My wife answered.  Caller asked for me using my first name.  She told him I wasn't here.  He asked if she was my wife.  She told him yes.  He hung up.

Wait.  This guy bought a franchise from the Fraternal Order of Police to solicit money on their behalf.  He paid $5K and will give the police 10% of whatever he collects.  The rest goes into his pocket.

Caller with heavy foreign accent said he was with the Sheriff's Association. I explained I NEVER GIVE MONEY TO ANY ORGANIZATION that calls and begs for it. No way. Bad practice. It is OBSCENE that Maryland law enforcement allows this kind of behavior to go on. Having been a police officer in a previous career it shames the profession that this is even allowed. Get your money some other way.

I will also not give a dime to the State Police. Their officers are some of the most UNSAFE on our highways. I am fed up seeing FOP and FP plated vehicles as well as cruisers breaking the traffic laws every day.

i received a call this evening.  also 'unknown', glad i did not pick up in time.  searched phone number, found this site.  want to add as i am also on the 'do not call' list.

Slight correction: He SAID he represented the FOP. You cannot know who is actually calling you, thanks to "spoofed" caller IDs. And as it says in an article on this site:

When it comes to donations, NEVER make donations over the phone. If you want to donate, donate directly to the beneficiary not the solicitor. This way 100% of your money will go to the charity not 10-15% as it often happens when donations are made through a telemarketer or even 0% if the money goes to a scammer.

Got a call a couple of days ago. Talked to a man representing the F O P asking for a donation. These organizations keep most of the money they collect, so I don't give it to them. I typed it as "ignore" in the contacts on my iPhone. That way I will know to not answer it.

Something is seriously wrong here. The caller ID says "out of area" even though the number is in my area code! Seems to me like the number is spoofed, which means the caller is up to no good. But anyway, the bottom line is NEVER give ANY money to ANYONE who calls like this. It's the only way to stop these calls.

Fraternal Order of Police, Cops wanting you to donate.  I had to tell this guy three times that I already donated.  He would not take no for an answer.
