i received an email from this david cust. about a job from craigslist. and the omega.com belongs to another company omega engineering not omega technology. the corp numbers don't match. none of it lines up and this particular number is all over google with different company name associated with it. I have seen several of these jobs unfortunately, they are preying on the unemployed and desperate. I had one guy Rick Daniels offer a work from home position. they sent a check for $1700 for office equipment. He said deposit the check into my account and then transfer the funds to the 3rd party shipper. nothing matched up, from the company listed on the fedex envelope to the name and bank written on the check. i called the bank and the company the check was written to verify and it was a bad check. So, stay as far away as possible from these types of situations

THIS IS A SCAM. You are supposed to cash the check at your bank, and buy office items. The check $amount is MUCH larger than what is needed and you will be asked to Western Union the excess amount back to the criminal. After a few days, the check will come up bad. The cash you wired the criminal is gone forever, your account may be in the red and accrue bank fees, and you can be prosecuted for passing a bad check. There is no job and the office items you're supposed to buy are irrelevant props in the play. The criminal only wants the cash you wire him. The details of this scam may vary a bit but the 2 things that stay the same are an excessively large check and you have to wire excess money back to the criminal. Don't do it, this is a scam.

This is 100% a scam, this guy David cust poses as a manager for omega technologies but is actually not linked with the company at all. His objective is telling people they are hired and that they need supplies to work for the company and that he will provide the check so you can purchase the materials, but in reality the check he sends is fake, there is no bank name on the check, but the majority of banks will cash this fake check assuming its a state check. Then immediately after David cust will ask you to hurry up and send the check thru moneygram to a lady named Tasha fowler(972-975-2718) so that she can supposedly send you the supplies. The reason David cust asks you to hurry up and send the check is because he only has a short time before the bank realizes the check was illegitimate and fraud. After a couple of days the bank will evaluate the actual check and put your account in negative whatever the amount is, and by the time you send the money to this random person it will be to late and there will be no way to retrace it. So this a warning from scam finder to stay away from this guy and anyone who wants to involve you with sending money, if you think logically why would you need to send the money, why cant they do it? Please be careful and reason before you do anything there is alot of scammers out there.

I got an email saying that it was a job position for customer service representative and it said in the email that i was going to get paid 22 dollars an hour taht is too good to be true so that sounded kinda iffy. I have been a victim of a scam before and I now know to be very careful at this job search thing because some people are honest but most of them are scammers.

Be EXTREMELY careful if you are not experienced in spotting a scam. This is highly suspicious and unfortunatley these scammers are taking advantage of people desparate to find a job. I too recieved this email from 'David Cust." at  COMPANY NAME : OMEGA TECHNOLOGIES                          www.omega.com(410-390-8943) listing the pricipal responsibilities and questionnaire as everyone has outlined above. Here was my response:

"Sorry, this NOT the job I applied for. I am not interested in THIS job as it this sounds very much like a scam than an actual job, find someone else stupid enough to go through with this".

BE VERY CAREFUL ALL!! IF YOU RECEIVE A CHECK DO NOT DEPOSIT IN YOUR ACCT NOR CASH IT. YOUR BANK MAY GIVE YOU THE CASH BUT IN A FEW DAYS THE BANK WILL CONTACT TO TELL YOU THE CHECK IS NO GOOD AND THEY WANT THEIR MONEY BACK, MEANWHILE YOU'VE SENT THIS MONEY TO THE SCAMMER, THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE THEIR ILLGOTTEN MONEY...NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.

OK, so I got in touch with Omega Engineering- that's the company's whos website is listed on this email you get when you answer the craigslist ad.  The website and this particular company (Omega Engineering) is legit.  But that's all that's legit here.  I've gotten correspondences from 2 people at Omega Engineering (the legit company) that this is a scam that they obviously have nothing to do with and they are aware that their website and a link to their web page is being used in connection with this scam.

I received the exact same email that J. Ruley posted.  It was a craigslist ad I responded too also, and got the email the same day I responded to the ad.  While the website listed on the email (www.omega.com) seems to be legit, the email itself just raises a feeling of suspicion- a gut feeling I guess.  I called the number listed on the website and the number listed on the email- 2 totally different things.  The number listed on the email seems to go to a private voicemail.  The number from the website seems to be a lefit company.  Don't have definite proof but I have a strong feeling that this is definitely some kind of scam.

I got the same message from this guy, David Cust. (figured it was fishy cause he didn't spell out his last name and most company's that are legitimately responding to your job application or e-mail response to one of their ads don't 'over kill-it' with a whole bunch of up front detail and 'too good to be true' promises like "you'll get paid 1,750 after a two week training")  He/they even type w/an accent, weird.

Here's what they/he e-mailed me:  (Oh! yeah, and Omega Engineering is legit.  Would definitely like to be apart of their organization.  Googled them. Quite impressive.)

Vickv, the same exact thing happened to me and they actually sent me a check for $2700 that is drawn under the Florida Federal Reserve Bank. But here is the kicker:  They send you an email after the check has ben delivered to you telling you to deposit the check into you account and that the funds will be avilable overnight, then they want you to send them a vivid photo or snapshot of the deposit receipt "for their records".  BULLCRAP!  I am about to e-mail them now to tell them I am sending the check back and reporting them to the BBB and the FTC because this is a straight scam!  Why do I have to deposit the check into my account if I am to my office materials with it?  I think not, that is a clever way for them to get your bank account information and use it!  Not me...they can play this trick on someon else.
