Kids Support Network works year round to raise funds to give assistance and support to local disadvantaged families with children mostly by contacting the general public by phone but not limited to such.  Behind the scenes they support local organizations with charitable donations as well as raise funds for the Back to School Back-Pack campaign and Christmas for the Kids.

It is unfortunate that not all will understand the dynamics or the fundamentals required to keep such a program functioning.  While diligently striving to support those less fortunate over the years there will be some level of malice due to a misinformed populace.

Please note, this organization has many facets and avenues it travels to spread support throughout the community including local churches, DSS, schools & shelters and yes while collecting the communities donations the do willingly offer to pick up non-monetary contributions for disbursement at no cost to you.

FAI (Fraternal Aid) is simply for disbursement of funds.  To quote Wikipedia:  "A benefit society or mutual aid society is an organization, or voluntary association formed to provide mutual aid, benefit, or insurance for relief from sundry difficulties.

New technologies have provided yet more new opportunities for humanity to support itself through mutual aid. Recent authors have described the networked affiliations that produce collaborative projects.[citation needed] In modern Asia rotating credit associations organized within communities or workplaces were widespread through the early 20th century and continue in our time.[4] Habitat for Humanity in the United States is a leading example of shared credit and labor pooled to help low-income people afford adequate housing.".

When choosing a charity it is best to consider the facts.  Over time Kids Support Network has grown in it?s outreach capabilities and will continue to support as many as it can.  All donations are 100% tax deductible, a receipt is given.  No collection of financial information is solicited and is actually discouraged.

With the support of neighbors and community it is proven that when times are tough Americans stick together.  This link has been added for your convenience and consideration when researching.

I just received a call this same telephone number. Very slick caller. Got real chummy and polite. He claimed that his charity was primarily supported by Project Echo, Catholic Charities et al and focused on kids in the Huntington area. I knew he was reading a script because we live in Huntingtown not Huntington. We would have heard about this group I'm sure if our church was giving to it. Sounds fishy to me.

Got a call from Kids Support Network looking for donations. Looked up this charity on the MD Sec of State's website. According to the MD Sec of State, in 2008, this so called charity spent 99% of the money it collected on management and fund raising fees. It's a sham! Don't throw your money away. And get this, the MD Sec of State site says that they are in compliance with state requirements! Go figure. Surprised? I’m not. Some politician in Annapolis or Baltimore must be getting paid pretty well.

This is a fraudulent organization. I worked for Art Miller for a short time, and in that time I witnessed enough for me to know this organization as one you don't want to give anything to. Art Miller also owns the Jobs for Students ( JSF ) organization. They'll call you, and pitch you the Christmas for Kids campaign. Then a week later they'll call you with someone different, and pitch the Jobs for Students. Donations to either go in to the pocket of Art Miller. I was one of those unfortunate individuals who were terminated from employment with the organization because, and I quote " You aren't producing enough SALES ". Contributers were regularly refered to as customers, and contributions are referred to as sales. I was told on regular occasions never to mention our certification with the Secretary of state, or the work we did with other organizations. I did some checking, and it turns out that they DO NOT work with other organizations in the local area. If anyone ever calls you, or mails you something from the Jobs for Students, Kids Support Network, or the Christmas for Kids don't give them ANYTHING ! I can tell you at least 70n percent of contributions will not go to the community. It'll go right in Art Millers Pocket.

Received call from woman saying a truck would be in my area tomorrow and did I want to give something for a charity called Kids Support Network, as part of their annual Christmas drive to help provide gifts to local children in the county social service program.  Said they would leave a receipt for me.  I assumed she was talking about a clothing donation and said I had nothing to give.  Did some research on the Kids Support Network of Glen Burnie, MD.  Documents filed by this organization, run by Art Miller aka Albert A. Miller III, indicate that 72 percent of the funds collected in 2006 went for fundraising, not helping kids!  Their IRS form 990 shows that they took in $197,000 and paid an organization called FAI Registered Fundraising $126,000 in 2006 (and $90,000 in 2005).  A google search shows that FAI is Fraternal Aid INC, a fundraising organization housed at 7143 E Furnace Branch Road, Glen Burnie. Kids Support Network is at 7123 E Furnace Branch.  Hummm . . . www.kidssupportnetwork.org
