I filed a complaint with Charter Communication about calling me on my cell phone.  They stopped calling from that number but now I am receiving calls from 480-543-1256 and now from this number.  All appear to be from Charter.  How does this company get away with it?  I called Verizon and they say there is nothing they can do.

Same here. They call every freaking day, even on the weekends, sometimes twice or more per day. They never leave a message and I never answer numbers I don't know.

I got a call from them today when I wasn't near my cell phone.  I tried to return the call, but it wouldn't go through.  I just disconnected my Charter service.  Do you suppose that's why they're calling?  To get me to re-up?  Comcast did it when I cancelled them, and I had to threaten to sue in order to get them to stop.

Got a call from this number at 6:17 PM PST today. I didn't pick up. I never do if I don't recognize the number. They left no message.

Received a call from this marketing company to ask why I had recently disconnected from Charter cable.  Extremely rude man hung up on me as I was explaining the better value of Dish Network.  I called back and left a message of my own indicating my displeasure with receiving such a rude call!

I dropped the internet service for DSL that is more reliable. I don't know why they keep calling should be a way to stop them.

I have been receiving the same phone calls from 1-410-774-8196. I was able to obtain the Corp. Office phone # of Charter. I called and was on hold for some time. When I finally got a human voice I was told that they could and certainly would take care of my problem. They are going to take my name and number off all of their marketing calls. Hopefully this will work. For all of those getting these calls, call the corp. office of Charter at 314-965-0555. Good luck!

This # 410 774-8196 calls me at least 2x during the day and when I have answered there is no one there... it just goes dead. It is wasting my cell phone minutes. I just cancel the call now when i recognize the number but it is an inconvienence. Make it stop... please.

These guys keep calling me on my cellphone. Looking for someone named Wayne. I've told them many times that I am NOT this person and to please stop calling me.

I have been called 5 times in the last 5 days from 410-774-8196.  I screen my calls and don't answer from area codes I don't recognize.  Anyway I have logged into my charter account and filled out the form to tell them to not contact me which is listed somewhere on this site.  I used there live chat feature to request privacy as well (although I made it a specific point to tell them I wanted my services made private when I signed up for services a year ago at my new home).  Today I received two more calls from the above number.  I have answered it a few times and it tells me to they are calling on behalf of charter and if I have questions to dial a long distance number.  Today I emailed Charter and told them if I continue to receive calls by Friday I am going to cancel there service.  I will call Charter directly on Wednesday if I keep getting calls by Friday I will cancel service.  Meanwhile I added the number as a contact to my cell phone and set the ringer to silent for that caller.  All I can say now is I guess I can't wait to get satellite because after years of "service" from charter I have come to expect nothing but the worst service at the highest price. ;-)

After numerous calls and no one answering I finally got a Charter Rep on the line.

These guys were justifying calling me when I told them not too.  Super Annoying.

This number has been calling me twice a day for the past week and of course not leaving a message.  I picked up tonight...no one on the other end.  Thank god for this site!  I am a Charter customer in CT. I just followed the advice to update my privacy policy on my Charter account, so hopefully this will take care of the calls.
I don't hate telemarketers, but you need to either leave a message or don't call back at all if someone doesn't pick up ---or you need to actually say something when they do!  Seems like Charter has chosen a terrible marketing company that doesn't have a clue what they're doing and the marketing company should be sued for harrassment.

Charter shows up on the Caller ID.  They have called three and four times a day, 7 days a week, for the past 3 weeks.  I have reported it on the do not call list and may have no choice but to take it to the local police.  It is beyond harrassment.  They tried to sell me something but I told them no and to remove my name and number from their calling list.  Now they leave three and four messages on my machine, "Hello Hello Hello" or if I answer I get some message to call some long distance number I cannot call because I don't carry long distance service and don't plan to use my cell phone minutes either.  I tried using my call block feature but it said that service was unavailable for the number.

Calls a couple times a day but I don't answer. They never leave a message either. Kinda annoying.

They have been calling me one to two times a day. What kind of marketing firm refuses to leave messages. Now that I know it's stupid Charter calling, I'll be sure to pay a visit to my local office and tell them to stop, else face a harassment complaint. Who knew you'd sell your telephone soul to them for service?! Oy!

At 5:25 PM everyday Charter calls and never leaves a message on the answering machine.  If you are on the national "do not call list" it doesn't apply to companies that you have as a service provider (as they may have a legimate reason to call you).  I wish they would give up!

This number has called my cell numerous times, all times of day, never leaving a message.  When I called back, I got a recording saying it was a Marketing company.

Aug 4 2007 10:17 AM called left no message. They are calling nearly every day. If it is Charter Cable Co. they need to get a life. I can use a different internet provider.

called, I answered, no one there except static.  I hung up as I have no desire to wait around for a salesperson.  I do have Charter.

They have been calling twice a day everyday for about a week. No message...just a hang-up. I think the poor little lambs at Charter are very very shy...like little mice. Unless of course they are sending you your obscene $150 plus per month cable bill. I remember paying $35 a month and I'm NOT THAT GDARN OLD!!

They keep calling and I decided to search and found this site.  I am definitely e-mailing this to them and telling them this is why I don't want their service anymore.  I mean jeez people do work for a living.

Charter continually calls me at least once a day to offer --- get this -- their charter internet phone.  How many times can you say "no."  They even called on a Saturday.  I am on do not call but that means nothing to them.

Received this call from Charter after dumping their crappy internet service.  Never had a call from Charter before this.  I had to tell the guy four or five times to put me on the do not call list.
