Got a no response phone call on my cell phone this morning from ATX Telecommunications Services Landline in Crofton, MD 410-774-8549. So I hit options on my cell phone and put LOCK on it, so they can't call me again :) I did a telephone reverse look up to find out who they were prior to the lock out.

Direct TV calling to try to sell a HBO package.

This number has called me twice in the same day- when I return call it I get a hokey recording saying "DirecTV" this is likely a hoax.

Thanks for the info about DirecTV.  I just canceled my 'free' introductory premium package that was part of the deal when I changed to DirecTV but I don't answer any call that doesn't identify itself.  These calls are from companies that do 'cold calls' and don't really have anything to do with DirecTV or the other companies they represent.  They are just telemarketers.  I think the only way we will get rid of these annoying calls is to require that the name of the business shows on the caller i.d., not just some vague 'out of area', 800 service or, in this case, Maryland.  I may have answered if it said it was from DirecTV because I do business with them but I won't ever answer if the callers won't identify themselves.

Caller identified herself as "calling on behalf of Directv".  Offered resubscription to a recently-canceled sports package at what was supposed to be a discounted rate-- but it was the same rate I'd just canceled.

It's a little fishy-- I only signed up for the package in the first place to get one single football game; Directv then failed to process the order and I didn't get the game I needed.  I told them I had no other use for the subscription.  That doesn't mean they didn't authorize this, but it's rather annoying!

FYI. If you have a service the company can call you even if you are on the Do Not Call lust.

I keep calling Direct TV stating some on is using their name. Direct TV states it is not one of their phone numbers. I stated I called back several times and got a message stating this is Direct TV, but due to high volumne calls, to leave your name and number and they would call me back. This is been going on with me now 7 days a week for about 3 weeks now.

I suggested every one keep calling the main Direct TV Co. and put pressure on their supervisors. It is obvious that some one is using their name, which ia a violation. It also sounds like a pass employee that knew how to call the telephone company and have the necessary information to set this account up. The only way I can see this being stopped is by Direct TV to take legal action to have this impersonator stopped. They tell you they will, but I see this has been going on since 2009, so they are not doing anything. So it is up to everyone receiving these calls to keep calling Direct TV, threatening to stop their service if they do not take action against this person. It sounds to me like some one that used to work for them and now with another television service and they know our phone numbers. So let's start flooding our complaints directly to Direct TV.

Yeah, I am also a Direct TV customer and received this call from them at exactly 8:45 pm PST.

STOP these harassing phone calls to my cell phone. I do not want them. When I answer they hang up on me and if I call back I either get a busy signal or a recording asking for my name and number. I want this to stop!

I usually just hang up on them.  If there is no ID and I don't know them I pick and then hang up.

Received this call that woke me up out of a sound sleep at 9AM or so.  I let the voicemail get it.  They didn't leave a message..  Annoying!

I have received calls for 3 days from the 410 number  and so I called the 800 number and told them I had cancelled DirecTV so I dont understand why they keep on calling me.  The lady said it was because I cancelled and the automated number was reminding me to send back the receivers. Well, that isn't the reason, because I got the call BEFORE I cancelled.  I told the lady do not be giving me a "general response".  Take me off that mailing list because I know it is a promotional number.  Those of you that have said that it is promotional are right because  when I called back that number the first time, it did say you do qualify for a promotion and we would like to talk to you.  DirecTV has major problems with Customer Service, I have truly found this out.    I am glad I decided to cancel.  What a racket!
