We also had placed something for sale on Craig's List and received the following email message.  
The name on his email address is Tailor Frank at taylor.frank@ymail.com.  He never responded to my telling him if he was still interested to email me back and I`d give him my address.  THIS IS A SCAMMER!  BEWARE!

Should have known it was a scam when an out of state number wanted to look at an item in Illinois.  This board is great.

i just responded on craigslist dam I spent 10 minutes typing my response to them. what a waste hey at least I did not call lol, I have good spam protection so its fine...

Got the exact same e-mail related to a CL posting in Charlotte, NC.  In our case, it was not so cut and dried.  We have a university here and there are many people with out of town number while attending school.

In any case, this one from "Sophia Brown" at 410-779-9861 IS A SCAM!  If you give them the info, you will be on every telemarketers list in the country!

I got a message today and wondered because my ad says it must be picked up so an out-of-state phone number tipped me off.

I was helping my mother in law sell furniture and got the same thing - unfortunately for us it went so far as to get the check, but it was lost, luckily, before a check was sent back for $$ they sent for shippping that we didn't want to handle, we got a letter stating that the check sent to us was counterfeit.  the name used was Sandra Tomas and there are other names and addresses sent for shipping details.  This is terrible.  Where can we report all the information we got from them to have them tracked??

Got the exact same message today about a PC I'm selling in NY; only difference is he wanted to "meet" on Saturday.

I had the same scam sent to me.
My wife thought I was paranoid but an out of state request for a $600 Bed, Right.
I had the same thought as you had with your rowboat.

We received the same exact message but they used the name Isabella Moor.
