National Cancer Coalition soliciting donations

I keep getting calls from this MD #--I'm in SC. These are unsolicited calls from an online pharmacy--always a recording. They call my house 3-4 times a day. If it doesn't stop, I'm reporting to the phone company & having them block the number.

I put this number on my *80 blocked list.  They call all day, I dont know who, they didnt say anything on the phone when I answered.

This week they are collecting for the International Cancer Coalition.  Call back gets a message that they are collecting for Anne Arundel Firefighters.  I smell dishonesty.  Where is the  Maryland Attorney General?  This scam is growing.

I received a call too asking for me by my first name, like they personally knew me. My son stated I wasn't home. I also did a reverse phone search and only found the number was a landline in Elkridge so I called it back and it stated Welcome to Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters Association Campaign Information Line. I don't even live in Anne Arundel County! I hate calls at home after business hours, especially when they ask for you by your first name.....like they know you!!!!!

i was called by this number a little heated that the number was local and unrecanisable, so i whent to do research the foundation exists but way up north not in elkridge MD wich is like not far from me so any help i need please respond cause i will find this person if they call again.

interesting, i just googled this number, received a few days ago. i didn't know what the search results would be, but wow, this has been an eye-opener! all of our phones are listed on the do not call list, but we do give to charities--the caller id usually says who they are. due to the current financial climate, we can't give as much as we usually would, and have been met with no real resistance--these are legit organizations we give to. there have been a whole lot of others, whose caller id displays a specific number or city, but no organization. i either don't answer, or answer and ask to be taken off their lists, and add that there's a penalty for calling back.

thank you to all who have responded to this particular phone number. i'm going to start checking some of the others to see if some of the calls we've been getting are the same kind of thing...

yea i just got a call from the same number and did not answer.checked my answering machine and it was a bunch of static, then a click.i dont have comcast, but i do have verizon. also we are on the do not call list. this number shows up on my caller i d all the time. i live in western md.it shows up local call-- thats not local to me!!!

I went and looked up the number on reverse phone directory and it gave me a longitude and latitude of the land line. It's 39.22 -76.72. I googled earthed it and it's right at the 895 Harbor Tunnel, Interstate 95 intersection in  Maryland off of Old Lawyers Hill Rd. Since I'm so close to them maybe I'll go and shove my phone up someones a**!! Then tell them to call themselves...lol

PS My called ID said this number is in Elkridge, MD

I've been receiving these calls regularly asking for donations. I found out Comcast sold my phone number and probably thousands more. So much for unlisted phone numbers!!! Comcast just got an ear full from me and agreed to change my number. I said why? So you can sell it again.

got 2 calls from this number in the last few days. did not leave a message nor did I try to return the call. I normally do not answer unfamiliar calls.

I have received this call twice. Once on 07/28/2009 @ 754 pm and the second at 246 pm (Sunday) 2 Aug 09.  After all of her "information" was spilled out to me- I told her that I had some questions.  First I wanted to know how she received our number since we are on the National Do Not Call List.  She could not give me a straight answer.  I asked her where she was located and she told me that she didn't know, then she said up north, then she said that she could transfer me to her manager.  I told her not to contact our number again.  I found out that it is a Verizon landline where she called from-so I contacted Verizon and the gentleman told me that Verizon owns ALL landlines in the state of Maryland (not Comcast since they are ran through coaxial cable).Companies like Cavalier rent those lines from Verizon-that explains why the number was stated that it belonged to Verizon.  I contacted the FCC (advise from the Verizon gentleman) and filed a complaint.  This phone number is located in a residential area. Hope this information is valuable to anyone who needs it!

received a call July 31st 8:39PM, Caller ID indicated "LOCAL CALL 410-782-3112" Did not recognize number so did not answer.  When I dialed the number to check out the source, the line was busy.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. Woman asked for my late grandmother (in a casual tone... as if she knew her). When I asked who was calling she said she was from "Healthcare Services" or something of the like.  I asked if my grandmother was a subscriber she laughted and said, "no".  Then she said, "If she's not there I'll just call back later. Bye." and hung up. Our number has been listed in the Do Not Call registry for over 31 days, so I'm going to file a complaint and see what happens.

Got a call from this number today ... voicemail was just noise ... sounded like someone was in a car.

Got a call on my home office line, answered as my employer. A few seconds later, heard a connect and a voice came on, and said "Hello?" (as is usual with multidialers). I repeated my greeting. He said "I'm sorry, did I reach a business?" When I answered yes, he apologized and said he had a wrong number.

Probably some non-profit organization, but they left no message.  Checking the voicemail, all I heard was static and a click.  I'm sure if it was really urgent they would have said something.  It's nice that these callers always decide to call at a time when they know people are going to be home, after the typical 5 PM work day so they'll be an even bigger nuisance.

yup people talking in the background. I didnt answer it, the guy didnt leave a message. Odd, it wasnt business hours.

Received a call from this number at 8:22 PM; a message was left--caller ID said Local Call--but message was dead air.

Got a call from this number,she said she was with "Childrens Cancer Coalition" and wanted a donation (of course she did!) When I stated that I could only give them $5 because I had already donated to other charities she said that they only start at $20 but I wouldn't have to pay today, that they would bill me. I said no, I only had $5 to spare, so she said goodbye. Upon "googling" this charity, I'm not coming up with any match. Must be a scam,take care with your donations. You want to be sure that most of their money goes to the cause, not "administrative costs".
