I filed a complaint and also left them a very nasty message on April 2 stating that since they refuse to send me a letter (because they claim it's against the law) they need to stop calling me or else. Also told them that I reported them and if they call me again it will be traced. So far they have not called. I'm keeping my fingers cross on this one. D call them let them know to cut the crap out. I'm so pissed off with these con artist I hope they shut them down soon

I received a call from a man with a very thick Indian accent who called himself Steve Anderson.  He said that he was from the Financial Crimes Division of US National Bank and he had an arffidavit showing that I had received an internet cash loan in December 2005 in the amount of $550.  He informed me that he had the power to issue a warrant for my arrest if the matter was not resolved.

I called my bank and requested my statement and it showed no such deposit so I called Mr. Anderson back to inform him. He gave me a slew of excuses as to why it would not show in my bank statement -- the money was paid but I withdrew it, the bank deposited it but never included it in my statement -- RIDICULOUS!  I informed Mr. Anderson that any and all deposits or withdrawals must show on my statement and that I confirmed that no such transaction ever occurred.  He then read off all of my personal information, which really scared me, so I called my bank and had them put a fraud alert on my account.  I also requested my credit report for safe measure.

He then put me on with his "senior officer" Don Wilson, another man with a heavy Indian accent. I informed Don that once I spoke with my bank, they suggested that if I thought this was fraud, I should file a police report so that the matter could be documented in the event that an investigation was needed.  So I did just that -- I sat with an officer for over 30 minutes and provided him every detail I could, including names, phone numbers, etc.

I read on the FTC that collectors are required to present you with written documentation of any kind within five business days of your request.

I called the local FBI bureau once I realized that they were asking for money and here are the tips I received:

1) NEVER SEND MONEY VIA MONEYGRAM UNLESS YOU KNOW IT'S A LEGITIMATE     BUSINESS. MoneyGram gives the same warning on its site.
2) CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT, BANK STATEMENTS, ETC. FOR SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY.
3) IF YOU HAVE TAKEN INTERNET LOANS, CONFIRM THAT ALL OBLIGATIONS ARE MET.
4) CALL YOUR BANK TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY OR PLACE A SECURITY NOTATION ON YOUR ACCOUNT.
5) DON'T CONFIRM ANY INFORMATION THAT THEY READ OFF TO YOU.  That may be the entire point of their call - -to confirm your info and use it.
7) IF THEY CONTINUE TO CALL, LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU HAVE CONTACTED YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
8) FILE A POLICE REPORT IF THE HARASSMENT CONTINUES.

I did all of the above and when they called me back I let them know that they needed to deal directly with my lawyer and that I had been instructed by the authorities to not speak with them anymore.  All communication would need to be through my lawyer.  Mr. Anderson said that he would have his senior officer call me back.

HAVEN'T HEARD A PEEP!!!

STOP SCAMMERS!  REPORT THEM AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY CAN'T HURT ANYONE ELSE IN THE FUTURE!  WWW.IC3.GOV

D, please report them to the FTC consumer complaint. I did and hopefully if we can get enough complaints they will shut these people down. I told the guy who called to stop calling me and that I reported him but he called again today 3 times at work and 2 on my cell. The first call to my job he hung up then called my cell. I told him not to call this number anymore. Then he called my job I told him the same thing. He then called again and I answered and did what they do put him on hold until he got tired of waiting. They will continue if we don't take a stand. I hope someone else has another idea. If so please share. But here's the link to file your complaint.

These people are using tactics that are illegal. First thing you can't understand one word they say because they have such a heavy accent. Then they tend to hang up on you when you call them back. They wont give you the company name or they say it's illegal to send letters out. Please give me a break. They are con artist. Just watch your back. Do not cave in to them they are trying to scam you for money. Check your credit. Because I did I never took out a payday loan. Never knew about it. Watch out guys.

I received several phone messages from a woman with a very heavy accent...possibly Indian she said her name was Kelly Smith.  The message stated that either I or my attorney needed to contact her ASAP otherwise she wished me luck as the situation would unfold.  Tried to call her back from my home number, however it rings and someone picks up and no one answers to HELLO?

Anyone else receive a phone call?
