NAACP against death penalty in MD. Probably legit, since they are having a large phone campaign in the state.

someone called me from this number and didn't respond when I answered the phone.
why do they bother to dial the number at all if they don't plan on speaking? I am white so if it was the NAACP maybe they clued in from my voice my ethnicity and thought I wouldn't want to speak to them???? lol

Yep!!! Same thing...claims they are from the NAACP, will ask for a particular person in the house; usually the name on the phone...and they keep calling...so I just ignore the call when it comes in...they won't leave a message..we don't really know who these folks are and why would the NAACP be calling re: the death penalty in Maryland???? Just don't answer..they will eventually get tired and move on..

someone called and asked to speak to a particular person in my household and they could not leave a message pertaining to the nature of the call; caller only said he was calling for the naacp; i want this verified by the naacp and want my telehone number removed from any future caN7Y8lls

Daily calls from this number.  I made the mistake of answering it ONCE.  It was supposedly the NAACP, they wanted me to call my reps about overturning the death penalty.  No way, I keep hoping they will make ignoring the Do Not Call List a punishable offense.

Ditto guys. On the Do Not call list but jerks keep calling so now I reach over crank up the sterio place the phone right in front of a speaker, then hit answer. Doesn't help they keep calling. So eventually guess someone will need to report them to what ever the proper place is.

If this were in fact the NAACP, they would be Exempt from the DNC.

Pickup and there was silence then a creepy guy said he was from NAACP. Told him no thanks and hung up. WTF.

they call me too about once/day, today 11:27am and I'm on do not call list as well. They hang up when I/machine answers.

Called said nothing for 10 - 15 sec's, then hung up ... They wanted my name... To scam me with on a future call know doubt... Point-less and potential disaster for them/him/her... Could be they finally called the wrong "guy"... ;-)

caller claimed to be NAACP to get rid of death penalty in Maryland;  I told him to put me on do not call list.  He said they will call back anyway to talk to other members of the family.  I could hear laughing in background, repeated put me on do no call list.  told him caller ID shows unavailable, put me do not call list, hung op on him

I got call from number, it was NAACP campaigning to get rid of death penalty in Maryland.

Ditto - did not pick up as I did not recognize the number and they hung up when the answering machine took the call.  FN spammers.

This is a VOIP number, called ID says "Out of Area" yet it is a local area code
When I let my machine answer, they hang up.
I hate spammers
