This number called and when I picked up just hung up. I called them back and it said please hold for the next available representative.

I actually talked to someone from this number stating that I owed a Sprint PCS bill from a few months ago that I already paid off. It is some sort of "pre-collections" company to give you a chance to pay the bill before it actually goes on your credit report. They are very annoying and will call 2-3 times a day, even if you tell them they have the wrong number.

In all defense, I am just looking from both point of view. If someone else owes you money, you expect it back in a timely fashion, no one wants to push for money that's why we have collection agencies. A collection agency does not have customer services, if you want customer service then go to Burger King. The customer in their view is the client that they are collecting for, the consumers are the debtors. Do you see the difference? On occasions you have those who can't pay their bills and those who simply are bums and won't get off their buns to pay any bills but expects the food for free. You are given a time frame before being put in collection, don't you think it is fair that they are harsh at times? There are people who wait six months or one year to pay their bills, don't you think your electricity would have been cut off by that time? I personally don't feel sorry for anyone. A medical bill is different from all bills. It is unexpected and life sometimes has that but other than that then everyone deserves what's coming to them. You had time and bills, PAY THEM. And just FYI, whatever the debtors don't pay because their butts are too loaded paying their cell phone bills instead, I will have to pay for their debts with my taxes, so I say if you owe money, then pay it otherwise, you deserve what you get it. It's not a surprise, you got the service, pay the bill and find better things to do then complain your way out of bill instead of just getting it over and paying it!

Call 800-882-9624 to be placed on their do not call list. Select option 9, then 1 to confirm they have your number correct.

Just dialed the AACPFF number. Got a message stating they are the Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters (AACPFF). They are looking for donations. They should fire who they hired to do the telephone work for them, and instead opt for a more local presence in some way. This is not how I, nor mostly anyone these days, donate given all the fraud ongoing with telephone and computer donations.

Got a call from AACPFF at 7:40 pm on 17 March. No messeage, and never heard of them so I did not answer. Will let you know what I can run down that may add value to the other posts.

One important thing I forgot.
Maryland law requires (in order to be submissible in court) that persons recording a phone conversation must first inform the person they are conversing with that they are being recorded.
I suggest your initial statement be ?I must inform you that this call is being recorded?. Regardless of the fact that you are or are not recording the call, this statement alone could stop further calls.
| john 2008-01-05 03:10:20 Unknown |
My understanding is that charities are exempt from the ?Do not call? requirements, so you can?t solve the problem there. I think this a ?loophole? that for-profit donation- collection companies (which probably are, and should be sanctioned by a legitimate organization seeking donations) use. Think about it, what?s the real organization has to lose? At least they get something, no matter how small.
It may be best to contact the organization itself and request a stop to the calls.
If you do file a complicate, and want it make it stick, you should document (via a recording) that you have requested them to stop calling. Be sure to ask/record who is call, why they are calling and the date (i.e. ask ?can you tell me today?s date?) and inform them to stop calling. If the calls continue, you can use this recording and your phone records to prove the calls continued after your stop request.
I am sorry I don?t know how you would file the complaint with at this time.

Yes, I get these calls all the time. How do we file formal complaints on this? I never answer because I do not recognize the company name. But they call all the time.

I?m getting the same type of call from (410) 968-7985 / Call ID name AACPFF. I?m guessing it?s a charity front (i.e. they give a penny to the actual charity for each dollar collect) collecting for the Ann Arundel County (Md.) Police and Fire Fighter. The reason I think this, is the call is from Chester Md. , which is not in AA county.
Is anyone not in AA Co. getting these calls?

Phones are becoming more frequent. Each time when I am busy than ever. These phone calls are annoying, calls come in when I am on another line and when I answer they hang up. When I call this 410-968-7480 or 888-312-3593 number back to see what they wanted, it is from IC SYSTEMS. The ask me for my number, claim that it is not in their system and therefore can not remove me from their list. Today, I explained that I receive one more phone call, I would blast a complaint throughout the entire planet. Enough is enough. The young lady gave a sigh and a laugh and said she was going to let me speak to her supervisor. After 2 seconds she simply hung up. LISTEN IC SYSTEMS, STOP CALLING ME NOW OR I WILL HIRE SOMEONE JUST TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH MY PROMISE. ALSO, FILING YOUR NAME WITH THE FTC BECAUSE I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST WITH EVERY NUMBER I HAVE. ABIDE BY THE LAW OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. NO MORE CALLS
