Poor police officer and firefighter they must use some other company to do fundraising with they will never get help the way this company treats people .

I just received a cal from statewide appeal they asked for my husband and when I asked for a name and number they hung up on me. I guess this is a telemarketing. Bad customer service who were they r. I hope they don't call back.

If they are a "professional fundraising" organization, they sure are not very sucessful. The non-profits they raise money for would be much better off to get local volunteers to make their calls for them. They would probably raise more money, we did, and they get to keep ALL the monies they raise. All these "fund raising" companies keep a percentage of what they collect, that is how they stay in business and makes them so annoying. No donations, no pay. Sorry Bryan, I have been there, used them, never again, you sound like you are one of them. We were a lot better off doing it on our own. Oh, the general public appreciated not being annoyed by some unknown idiots and we collected almost 3 times what they collected. Wonder why? You are wrong, most people do care and will give. My advise to the people is to go directly to the non-profit organization you want to donate to and give them a check personally if you get one of these calls,

This is probably a professional fundraiser for the State Troopers Association.  The charity typically gets only 18% of any monies collected.  Charities are exempt from DO NOT CAll lists. If you block the 1541 you will simply get called from another number.

I've received two calls from this number on two separate phone lines... Ren was furious!  Maybe its Verizon calling so you'll spend money on the *69 at $.75 a pop.???

Someone should call the phone company and complain that this number is harassing them, or maybe a lawyer out there with some time can just file a court complaint and cc: the Attorney General, the FTC, BBB, FBI, XYZPDQ ...anything to harass them as much as they seem to bother others.    

As for me I'm only a cartoon character, so I'm limited as to what I can do.

I've been receiving the same phone calls.  I just tried calling the number back from work and I received a recording that said it was "State Appeals" and to leave a message and someone would get back to me later.

I get called from this number and it is once, maybe twice a week. (always late evening) The line is dead. Then I get the "if you would like to make a call". I called the number because I just wanted to rip someone. Recording. UGH! Leave message. This has been going on for a couple of months. Tonight I was waiting for an ambulance for my house. And I got this call. That did it. I have promised myself tonight I will get to the bottom of it. It's some type of auto dial. Sales maybe? I just don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Around 8:41PM I get a call from a Turtle Creek PA phone Number of 412-245-1541 The Caller did not leave a message, tried calling it back with my number block, and the recording stated they dont talk with people with there numbers block or the caller ID info blocked. So I called with my number unblocked and it was a auto machine that it sounded like something was left to you, the machine stated this call was no ememrgency and they would try agian. This is a telemarkert or what? Any one Know

My husband picked up the phone when they called, they hung up.
They won't accept our blocked number when we tried to call them back.
Were on DO-Not-Call. I really don't think that matters anymore.

That's because not all state troopers are registered with the American Association of State Troopers. That is the group that  receives the money, and it goes to help the members both retired and active as well as their families. You'd think people would actually do some damn research before they complain and just make themselves look dumb

That is B.S. I have talked to troopers about this and They say when ever you get a call Let us know WE dont ask for money.    So Who ever the H*LL you are maybe you better go talk to a cop so they can take care of you and give ya bread and water....

But if you ask the police they say they will never ask for money!! So this is a joke. We being tax payers help the best we can!!!! i dont wanna hear crap about the public not caring.

I just got one of these calls, identified myself as the "same sex partner" of the person they were trying to reach and the man's response was, "Your same sex partner, that's VERY interesting." Interesting my a**, you homophobe. Why is it that when they think they're calling a female, and they get another female on the phone these callers automatically think a) there MUST be a Mr. in the house, b) I must have a husband who makes decisions (NO A**HOLE - *I* MAKE THE F***ING DECISIONS), or c) the woman they are looking for MUST be my mom.

I work for Statewide appeal and we call on behalf of the TSTA and I can insure you that it is a legit company. Around 20% of your donation IS going to the state troopers. Because we're a non-profit organization, your donations are paying for employee paychecks, office rent, electricity bills, etc. We're not scamming anyone. There's no way we can really get donations without relying on some of them to help pay for it all. We're all required to work 6 days a week or more and the pay is horrible. Your donations really are like a million for us and do help the troopers. We're trying to make a living just like anyone else.

These idiots called my house and my husband answered, a male voice asked for me by my first name only, and wouldn't tell him what the call was in reference to. So he chewed the guy out and he said he would just keep calling until he got me. when my husband hung up he called right back. When we called back we got the message for statewide appeals.
