Clean Water Action, a legit non-profit looking for donations.

I was receiving calls from this number, what I did was blocked it on my cell.

If you're going to call and it goes to voicemail---LEAVE A MESSAGE. I received a call from this number after 9 p.m. last night. I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number and expect that the caller would leave a voicemail. It is frustrating that a non-profit would be so bothersome. I'm not intersted in donating.

I have never donated to thbe Clean Water Act, and I got my call last night around 10:30? Do no answer calls from this # ~ who knows what they are doing?

Oh, I wondered who called from that number.  I too have been a donation giver in the past.  THE PAST.

Caller ID says Pennsylvania Call and the number is an obvious spoofed number. That immediately warns me to NOT cooperate with whoever is calling. The woman online identified the organization as Clean Water Action.

I have NOT donated to Clean Water Action but they asked for me by first name and had my address. They were soliciting funds. Other voices in background, sounded like a telemarketer or boiler room operation.

Thanks, Doreen.  I was able to pick up when they called and they were very nice.  In fact, I renewed my membership with them.  They told me they only call people who have given to them in the past.  I remembered talking to a young lady who came to my door from Clean Water Action.  Of course I don't advocate answering calls you don't know, but when I heard it was Clean Water Action I figured it'd be ok.

I found the Home Office of Clean Water Action in Pittsburg, Pa.   Thet told me they would put me on the 'do not call list'

That number is from Clean Water Action.  They call me a couple times a year.  Been a member for about 20 years.  They are legitimate -- a good group but why they use that number is a mystery.  They are not automated calls, only manual telephone calls from past donor lists.  I would suggest just picking up the phone and telling them not to call you anymore.

Call is from Clean Water Action.  I asked them to put me on their do not call list.  The man was very polite and apologized.  I have donated to them in the past, but had specifically asked them to use mail when contacting me.  I never do anything over the phone.

To the gentleman that said it wasn't Clean Water Action.....I think it would be too much of a coincidence that so many of the people getting these calls have contributed to them in the past. I, too, have donated to them in CT and am now receiving calls as well.

I just received a call last night (1/11/12) at 6:55 from this number on a brand new cell phone; didn't answer because it is a strange number.
Having briefly worked in a call center few times, I find it hard to believe that anyone trying to do telemarketing would have calls automatically generated to say nothing.  I think it's more likely being used by someone else's auto-call program, with more malicious intent, but that's just a guess.  I see I'm the first person to complain about it in a year, though.

I received a call last night from this number and believe totally that it from the Clean Warer Action Committee.  I've given to them in the past.  They called last week but a man's name showed up--I googled him, discovered he's connected to CWAC.

They'll never get another dime from me either.

It's Clean Water Action looking to take money from people

Clean water Action sounds right, i made a donation a few years ago and they call me once or twice a year.

This number has called me now 3 nights in a row, 2 times each night. How do I get them to stop? I do not answer numbers that aren't programed into my phone. Can anyone do something?

If it's Clean Water Action why would they not i.d. themselves, at least when someone picks up? Seems like an odd way to seek donations, don't you think?

Whoever it is just called me. The name came up as "Name Unavailable." I don't pick those up. Period.

My husabdn has donated to Clean Water Action in the past, so I agree with the person who posted that as a likely source of the phone number....
