If this is connected to the WWF, I have donated to National Wildlife and Defenders of Wildlife, when I can. I do not want anymore calls from WWF, or any telemarketers connected to this. I won't answer them anyway. thank goodness for caller ID.
These people are a nuisance. AND if I did want to donate I wouldn't now after all the nuisance calls.

Caller ID showed it as "Public Int Comm". My home telephone number is registered on the National DO NOT CALL list, but for some reason I still got a call from this company looking for money.

What You Need to Know:
*The Do Not Call registry doesn't actually apply to non-profit organizations and this company calls exclusively on behalf of non-profits.
*This company also calls on behalf of many non-profits. If you're getting multiple calls per day from this company, they may not necessarily be on behalf of the same organization -- either you've given to different organizations in the past or an organization you gave to rented your name to another organization.
*When an organization acquires your name through a rented list, they only buy the right to call or mail it 1 time. However, if you respond favorably to their call or mailing (either by making a donation or by in a survey or taking some other sort of action like requesting more info), that organization has then legally acquired your name and it's theirs to use as often as they want.
*The best way to keep yourself off of mailing and telemarketing lists is to tell the organizations you do wish to support not to rent or exchange your name. They are ethically bound to honor that request. Calling the telemarketing firm directly will ensure that you will also be put on the firm's do not call list, which means that you will NEVER get a call from that firm, regardless of which organization's list you show up on.

These people have been calling me daily for a week - I haven't picked up their calls.
Went on their website and told them never to call me again. Besides, I'm on the Donotcall.gov registry.

These people must be stopped. They are a pain in the a**.

Recieve almost daily calls. Have signed up on national DNC list, but PIC does not stop

Remove my name. In other words, Stop Calling Me!!!!
annoyed 2013-04-25 00:38:08 Unknown
I tried to take my name off their list and just kept being told that the # and letters I put in were wrong.

They call many times a day at all hours 412-622-7387

Thanks for the website. They asked for last name and phone number and nothing else. I hope this stops the daily calls.

Public Interest Communications Inc is hired by non-profits/charities to call you. They have a list of the non-profits on their website http://www.pubintcom.com. Go to the right hand column of their website and click onto Clients/Markets We Serve. A partial list of the non-profits will come up. If you support or have ever supported any of those non-profits then email the non-profit telling them you are dropping monetary support due to the harassment by Public Interest Communications caused by that non-profit giving Public Interest Communications your personal information. Tell them that the tactics Pub.Int.Comm. uses is a reflection of the non-profit and request to be removed from all their mailist and email lists and to not give, lease or rent your personal information to any more third party companies. Public Interest Comm also has a section in their website, click onto "Did We Call You" where you can enter your phone number which tells them not to call you any longer.

I'm so tired of these calls. Called ID says "Pub Int" Finally I answered the call today. The lady knew my first and last name, but before she could tell me what she wanted, I told her I wasn't interested and to please remove me from their call list. She was polite and said they would remove me. We'll see. I hate to be mean to the worker who calls; he or she is just trying to make a living and any job is hard to get, so I try to be nice to that person, but I'd sure like to give whoever their boss is a piece of my mind. They call every day several times a day.

I have never supported them and have myself on do not call lists yet this number bothers me every day and sometimes more than once a day.

My wife donates to a lot of deserving non profits, but those nonprofits that call a lot, especially through the robot callers like Public Interest Communications, get dropped from her donation list. That is a simple fact.

I'M ON A DO NOT CALL LIST AND STILL RECEIVED THIS FROM A TRLEMARKETER.

I just called 412-622-7368 and got a recorded message that if I didn't want to be on their call list any more, I should leave my phone number including area code, and they would remove me within 3 business days. I'm crossing my fingers...

i found out that the do not call registry is for only solicitation calls....this is not. I was happy I answered the phone as it was one of my favorite non profits. the person i spoke with was delightful and i did tll them the phone calls are a bit much and i rec too much mail and they fixed that for me! sometimes its wise to answer your phone, it can be a true delight.

I regularly update our phone number under the 'Do Not Call List' but it just goes to show the ineptitude of
any agency to help the consumer.
hbowen 2012-08-07 00:18:57 Unknown
I want this number to stop calling. They call frequently and at all times of the day. We have a person with a serious illness who does not need this annoyance. The calls are not and will never be answered. They will never be given money because we do not have disposable income and because they bother us. Do not call list is of no value. We want this stoppped.
Jane Doe 2012-07-28 19:50:21 Unknown
Swearing into the receiver will probably get you calls CONSISTENTLY. Remember, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Allow them to identify the company and say "I'm not interested", they will prod three times, because that's their job--they could get fired if they don't do so. Just say "Take me off your list, I'm not interested" in a polite tone and SHABAM! You won't be overwhelmed with phone calls. Keep in mind that you have college kids working for minimum wage, applying for food stamps to get by. I know you that think you're unique by acting rude, but these are human beings that are constantly inundated by mental abuse all through their shift. You might think to yourself, "well, they deserve it for choosing such a terrible job," but is it always that easy for everyone? Are jobs in America bountiful and easy to obtain? Keep in mind that you're talking with someone'a struggling daughter or son.
Bob Smith 2012-07-28 19:39:15 Unknown
The National Do Not Call list does NOT apply to non-profits, just so you're aware. They aren't selling you a product, just asking your for your donation to contribute to a political/educational/humanitarian/ environmental cause you supported in the past. Grow some balls and tell them you're not interested, keep in mind they have to push numerous times because of what their job entails. Passive agressive tactics won't get you anywhere, trust me.

I keep getting "dead" calls from 412-622-7387. The caller ID comes up as "Public Interest CM." I am on the do not call list so I shouldn't be getting these at all. I want them to stop.

Thanks for posting. I've tried filling out the form on their sight, and now I've left a voicemail message for that Ken person. My number is ON the federal DO NOT CALL registry; so if I get another call, I'm calling our state attorney general's office and also filing a complain with the Better Business Bureau.
I am formerly an Ex. Dir. of a public benefit org, and know all too well how difficult it is to raise money, but we never used telemarketers. GRRRRRR!!!
Sandra 2012-07-03 17:02:47 Unknown
Me, too. WWF, etc. I tried returning the call and was told the number was out-of-service. Will try answering and the do not call list. I've invoked the threat of reporting to the BBB, State Attorney General, and local TV stations. One of these tactics often works! Good luck, out there!

Thank you for the suggestion to call Whitiker and to make a harassing complaint to RCN my provider. Let's see if the twice daily calls stop. Been on the do not call registry for years yet annoyance calls increased once I switched to voice over Internet. My landline never had this issue - same number mind you.
