This is actually from PNC bank.  I changed some information online and they were calling to verify it.

Got a voicemail from this number saying it was my health insurance company offering a new program...thought it was very strange since my husband is the primary contact why would they call me first and not him. Sounds like a scam.

I got this call and couldn't answer because I was at work.  It was from PNC, the gentlman left a message.  It was the same person/name I had been speaking with on PNC live chat regarding opening an account for my daughter.  He left his call back number and a voicemailbox number.

I got a call from this number but did not answer.  I called it back and a message said it was no longer in service?  Very strange and I do have an account with PNC.

This number is the number that shows up when someone from PNC's call area makes an outbound call - its routed through a "PBX" system so that's why when you call back it says its not a valid number.

I called 888-PNC-BANK regarding this number and they confirmed that it is one of their fax numbers.

I set up an account via the phone at PNC and called back in a couple days asking whi I hadn't even received an email from them. I had called the number on their main web site. The man who amswered said they needed proof of residency and asked me to fax a copy of my drivers license to this number which I did. I still haven't heard back from them so I googled the number and see I am not the only one experiencing weirdness from PNC. I am now becoming concerned about identity theft and am wondering if this is not some sales site that PNC subcontracts to set up accounts.

This is definitely PNC bank. They were returning my call.

I recently put an application through online for PNC bank and they called me from that number to verify some information and tell me what paperwork to bring into the bank. While frustrating that companies ahve call centers and their outgoing numbers can most often not be called back it is indeed not always fraud.

I received a call from this number 3x today, 1-8-10.  When I tried to call it back it said it was no longer in service, so I researched it to this page of complaints about this number. I then called PNC bank and they checked and said that this specific number is NOT in their data base. (I spoke with a PNC supervisor.) This supervisor called their security people today and was turning it over to their security department.  IT IS A SCAM ...do NOT give out any information to someone from this number or your identity could be easily stolen.

I received a call from 412-803-0100 the person said he was with pnc bank and he had all my banking information and tried to get me to add some additional services from pnc. He even gave me some numbers to call if I changed my mind. After hanging up I called PNC and spoke to a representative and gave them the name of the person that called me, she checked and told me he was indeed a sales rep for PNC bank.

It's not inside fraud it's called a watts or hunt line. These numbers are associated within the main number for out going calls of a large corporation. The majority of these numbers dial out but cannot be called back directly that is why you get the not in service or disconnect message.

Before you go bombarding your senator make sure you know what you are talking about.

Whenever you get a call from this number, record it and send a copy to your US SENATOR. I understand they plan to address these issues soon. The more you complain, the quicker you will see results. Number has been disconnected today.

called me from  412-803-0100. Said they were looking for someone. When i called the  number back they said thay had a business named Basys in Linthicum, Maryland. When I called back again from a different phone she told me she did not know why the business calls were coming to her personal phone because she is in New York. After calling a different day, her answering machine  kicked in and said her name was Donna Nelson. The  calls are coming out of Pittsburg, and there is a  Donna Nelson with a line number with that number. When I called back today, it had been disconnected. i feel that this is an inside fraud by more than one person.

Yes, this is a legit number. I got a call from it maybe 2 or 3 minutes after I called PNC to replace a stolen check card. It was simply a confirmation call and is actually in place to protect your account from misappropriations. I get similar calls from my credit cards when I make a large transaction from a merchant I hadn't bought from before. They'll just ask if a charge in the amount of $X.XX is legitmate or not.

I've also ignored this number before and that seemed to make no negative impact or delay on my requests or accounts, so feel safe to not pick it up if you do get a call.

how can a # not be in service when someone calls from it and u call back there is nothing? using scamblers ? i wish i knew

My husband got a call from this number and he missed the call. When he called back it said the number is not in service.

So I also got a call from this number. I did not answer but they left a voice mail. It was over a minute of a song being played. I tried to call it back and it is no longer in service.

Lady called stating she was from PNC and said one of their customers had a charge on their account and my number was associated with the charge. She then said "do you have any idea what I'm talking about?" I said no and she said "okay thank you" and hung up. Very odd call? I would not answer if you get this number.

Got a miss call from this number too 412-803-0100.. they didn't leave a message. When i tried calling it back got msg stating this number is not available. Glad to see we have posting like this to help stop scammers

I also have received a call from this phone# regarding a VAN I bought from a guy, a lady with a name "Sheri Brewer or Sherry Brewer" called and left me a message, but when I tried calling the number back I got a message that the number is out of service.

I just got the same phone call, and they asked me to verify my account information. I thought I read something before saying that PNC wouldn't call and ask for my information, so I told them I didn't have my card or information on me. The lady told me she could verify my account based on the last deposit, so I told her the dollar amount and didn't know the change, but it was apparently sufficent. It just seemed to strange, so I just claimed not to have my information on me and that I'd set everything up online.

I received a call from this number on my chil'd phone, and when I called back, it was a number that is not in service.

This person called and said he was with PNC and wanted to know why I hadn't set up online banking, and asked if he could help.
I told him I didnt have an account with PNC and didn't know waht he was talking about.
