So why would CVS call me when Expresscripts is my insurance PBM and mail order pharmacy?  sniff, sniff, I smell a scam!

Once again CVS has no idea what they are talking about! I get a receipt every month in the mail from 'SDC' for my  CVS Caremark delivered prescription. So of course they are connected to CVS.

I received a call about a recent prescription ordered for me by my doctor.  The Voice Mail message I received from this number gave me an 877 number to call back.  I didn't get all of it written down.  Do you happen to know the 877 phone number so I can return the call?

Caller ID said SDC but message on answering machine said CVS/Caremark. I checked with my local pharmacy because I was issued a new prescription on Wednesday, they said they did not receive it. I called, was placed on hold for 10 minutes (all people are busy) with all sorts of CVS/Caremark messages.

It was a legitimate call, the particular medication is handled via the mail service and they were confirming the new prescription.

Ryan is partly correct and, if you have your prescription program with CVS Caremark, it could really be them calling.  That doesn't  mean you should do anything.  First, I have noticed (in my case) that CVS DOES NOT APPEAR ON MY CALLER ID.  To me, that's a RED FLAG, and I never answer or return calls from callers whose ID is shown as "Unavailable".  If it is a legitimate call, why the heck would the caller ID not say it's CVS ?  Second, I would never give out personal, private ID info (such as DOB) over the phone unless I place the call myself to a number that I have first personally & independently researched  & verified (i.e., not a call back number they provided). Third, I don't want these people calling me, even if it really is CVS,  because chances are great that this type of robo call is more about collecting marketing info, or some other stupid initiative of theirs, than about a specific prescription.  Fourth, if it is about a specific problem with a specific prescription, a human (not a robo) can leave a message with the details explaining that & maybe then I would consider contacting them.  Finally, they cannot legally withhold a prescription because you did not respond to a robo call  (unless they want to be sued for millions).  Note that some respondents are receiving these calls even when they do  NO BUSINESS with CVS.  That makes the whole thing very suspicious.

Fax Machine
I am receiving data or fax attempts to my home phone line.  I received about 10 yesterday and 2 already today (before 8:10 AM),
I called their number back, and they said they don't take calls.
How am I supposed to tell them to stop sending faxes to my voice line if they won't identify themselves?

No I do not agree that it is because money is owed, because they would have said so, and I do
not owe CVS Caremark money!!!! And these people called me, and asked if I wanted to have my
script ordered through CVS Caremark and when I told them I already did, I was told that they
are a different CVS Caremark,  Sorry it is a scam.

Yes they told me that they are CVS Caremark too. and I called Caremark and asked them if this is
another department, or another Caremark in a different state, she told me that  call was not affliated with
Caremark and no record of the call from that number came up, Now CVS Caremark has called my
home in the past, and always came up on caller ID as CVS Caremark, and a 800 number. Never
the heading of SDC. makes me nervous, a scam.

I too received this call about a script, NO it is not from CVS Caremark as I called them, and no record
that they called me also If this company was legit then the number 412-825-8852 would not be a recorded
message, So I do not believe anyone is an idiot here, just people who are trying to protect their rights,
And if by some chance they are legit, then they need a course on being a better business attitude, and
the proper procedures on how to deal with future customers.

Yes, CVS Caremark is a real company, yes they will call you from time to time if you have prescription coming, but there is a scammer using their caller ID info for phishing!  They called me, asking to speak to my two year old son.  They mispronounced his common name, with common spelling.  They said they were calling from his doctor's office and needed to verify his address and date of birth.  I told her I don't give out any information to incoming calls.  She told me to write down her number and call her back (it ended in 1481).  I asked her if I could log into my account and verify it and she said no, I had to call the number she gave me.  I hung up and called THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF MY CARD, this is important, DON'T call the number they gave you.  When I spoke with the woman at CVS Caremark (from the number on my card) she told me that there was no note on the account, no records of any doctors calling anything in for him (he has NEVER had anything mail ordered to him), and they had the correct name and DOB. She also told me I could verify all that online, and said she looked up the number I gave her and said she does not see any department with that number.  SCAM SCAM SCAM!  NEVER give anyone who calls you ANY information.  Even if it is a company you deal with.  Called IDs can be spoofed.  Fake numbers can be purchased.  And scam companies can masquerade as legitimate businesses.

I receive several calls per week from this number with a caller ID of "SDC" claiming that they are the Pharmacist for CVS Caremark and that they are calling about a "Note" on a prescription. They then ask for your telephone number, full name, date of birth, prescription member identification number, etc. When you question the fact that they called you and apparently already have your telephone number they cannot explain how they called you to begin with

I have contacted CVS Caremark at 877-737-7726 and spoke to a woman named "Brenda" who stated that they have no idea who "SDC" is.

Before you give any personal information to anyone on the telephone call your provider to verify that a call is legitimate, or ask them to send any informational requests in writing.

YES, the call is a SCAM.

This is a CVS Caremark specialty prescription program telephone number.  If you get a call out of the blue from them it is because your insurance company switched to their program from another.  The first thing they do is call everyone that uses your insurance company.

The reason you cannot call the 412 number back is because it is from a telephone bank is it is very common for them not to accept incoming calls except from its 800 number.

If you don't have a specialty prescription tell them to quit calling you.  Other then that it is legitimate.

This is really a SCAM!!  If you do not start the call from your number to the real CVS, Walgreens or Doctor, then it is a scam for information about your brithday, address and credit card information!!  Scammers use robo-callers to call numbers and if you answer you will be put on the list of good numbers and sold to every crook in the world!!  Block the number from your phones and report it!!

This is a legitimate pharmacy. My doctor told me at my last visit to be expecting a call for them so they can verify my insurance benefits and mail the device to my doctor. She has all my medical information available so I can verify the order that I placed thru my doctor. So no it's not a scam.
