You can't get something they don't have. Scammers like these guys don't have "money" to get.

This has been done by thousands of people or more. You need some information about the company to file a complaint, and these guys just hang up on you when you ask them anything.

Then what can be done about this company. I have been getting calls from them for years now. They refuse to tell you any information about their company and hang up when asked. Then call back from different numbers constantly. I would bet I've had at least 10-12 different numbers from the same "company". I've called just about everyone up to the state attorney general and have basically been told oh well.

I went to donotcall.gov about 2 months or more ago, but I still get some of these scam artists like the people from 213.207.8582 calling about lowering the interest rate on my credit card.  The interesting thing is I am one of the few people in this country that don't own a credit card.  So, right away I know it's some jerk con-artist calling to harass me.  I wish we could put demons like this in jail.

There is a National DO NOT CALL registry run by the Federal Government.  Go there and register complaint.  If enough people register the complaint, the scammer disappears.  And first put your phone number on the list.

I keep getting these calls at home and on my cell phone.  My latest calls are telling me they have blocked my credit card and to unblock it I need to enter my 16 digit credit card number.  I assume someone has been gullible enough to fall for these scams because they keep calling people. I sometimes answer and cuss them out, then I don't hear from them for a while.  There has to be a way to stop these annoying calls.

THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.

THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.

RETALIATE:

Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.

After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke.

REDUCE THE MISERY:

Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a free feature many providers offer, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, automatically hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.

Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.

HAVE FUN:

Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.

So I this blacklist application for my phone that works well, it initially blocked the number when it came across as (413) 207-8582 (all 413* numbers are blocked)..

So this number has called over the last couple of weeks and the calls were blocked. However, today after a series of calls I noticed they changed their caller ID to 1(413) 207-8582 .. which passed the filters I've setup and the phone rang. Clever, however sending 1-413-207-8582 in the caller ID tag is not the standard within the US. Because it isn't a standard it's easy to spot this fake number.

So now I've setup the blacklist to block anything with 1* . There are no US area codes that begin with 1 (or zero), and normal calls don't send the prefix of 1 with their caller ID tag. For good measure I and went ahead to block international calls with 0* just in case.

What is annoying is that all these calls originate from a telecom circuit which our carriers have logs for. While the number can be faked, you can't fake a connection. All the feds need to do is honey pot a number and trace it back to whom-ever is providing the service. Force the company to log their users activity and catch the b*****ds or shutdown the provider. Seems pretty strait forward.

I have gotten repeated calls from this number. First an automated voice comes on telling my credit card is in good standing and I am eligible for a reduced interest rate. Must dial 1 now to speak to an agent. I have asked nicely repeatedly for them to stop, they just hang up and call again.
