Hung up

I've gotten calls today from this number and 413-785-5358.  First one beeped and disconnected, second one someone said something, burst into laughter, then beep/disconnect.

If it's BB/BS, they are losing me as a donator.  I don't think it is, though, as all the times they've called in the past *usually every other month), they DO leave a professional message on my voicemail.  I suspect this is something else altogether, but the numbers are blocked now.

Keep getting calls and cannot call back - wh obe this?

I called the 413-732-7111 and it is indeed the number for BBBS - Hartsprings.  Got answering machine which states that it is open from 8a-7p, but cannot get to your call.  Also states that if you want to leave a message, you have to leave:  name, address, phone number city, town, and zip code.  Seems like an awful lot of information that you are giving them if you just want your number taken off their call list.  They are a non-profit so I believe they are exempt from the "no call list."  I think that you can request to have your number taken off their list.  Thank you though for the information it was helpful to know where this number is from.  Seems like if they don't abide by your wishes you could complain to the Atty General?

Want these people to stop harrassing me.  It's a difficult time with a family death; don't need to deal with this.  I am on the "No Call" list

It is Big Brothers Big Sisters auto dialer to find valid phone #s within their pick up area and to determine when you are home so a rep can contact you. It is legit but annoying. Also if you call back (I did) it rings once then goes silent then logs you # (I think that is what it did it sounded like my # on touch tone). This also lets them know it is a valid # and that you are home. You can call 413-785-5306 or the Hartsprings center at 413.732.7111 (toll-free 1.888.413.2227). Depending on your phone service provider you may be able to block the call if they are annoying or offending you that much.

Same stories all the time! They call and I don't pick up. They say nothing when they leave a message. Now it's getting real annoying! Last time they called was last night.(July 24, 2010) If you see this number-1-413-785-5507, don't pick up!

Get calls all the time from this number. When I answer, no one is there. Most recent call was last night preceded by two calls both of which had background noise and I heard a man grunt before hanging up. This is getting scary! Why don't the police get involved?

Hmmm, I did put items curbside for Big Brothers to pick up on 12/30/09, but am not sure why they're calling if 413-785-5507 is their number. I dialed that number and it was busy. Funny thing is that the slip you attach to your items for pick-up tells you to cut off the section with their TIN information to retain for your records for tax purposes/receipt.

I also gave to them during the summer (back in June I believe) and I didn't get a call back, so I'm not sure why they'd be calling.

I am worried because I told them they can pick up items but, I'm thinking its a buglary scam?

Got a call from this and it was a bunch of people yelling in the background before someone hung up.  Though it was my nutty sister having a domestic disturbance so I tried calling it back, rings once and then stops; no machine or anything.  Searches led me here -

call and no answer--ever!  report this to whom????

We get a call from this number every day sometimes more than once a day. Very annoying. They never leave a message.

It is a Big Brothrt Big Sister SCAM  They say they pick up household items and take them then not leave a receipt  They need to be caught....
