If the second rep didn't want your money, why bother with the jail threat? Sadly few in your husband's profession are trained in dead easy facts of consumer law, the critical one here being that personal loan debt is *never* a criminal matter to American citizens.

This in truth is extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

The South Asian fake debt collectors traffic, share, and resell our personal information. People who get these extortionist phone calls have often given away their data to some creep with a payday loan website. That's all it takes, even if a loan is never granted.

I have been getting these phone calls also. The idiot keeps telling me to shut up every time I try to ask him a question. If I don't answer the phone, he leaves nasty messages. I called my Police department. The deputy called this number. He told the guy why he was calling, and the man hung up on him . The deputy told me that it was a scam, and that I should not worry about it.

Thanks for the input.. I have noticed over the years on this website that the SCAMMERS like to use other company names as a shield making people think they are legit. Did you put a notification on your website to alert people.. you may also want to contact BBB to have them make a note..

Got several phone calls from  this #, stating they will send a warrant and arrest me they had my last 4 digits of my SSN. This is a MAjor Scam

I got a threating call at my work at the Matthew and cox law firm.  The men sound like they were from india.c
I said I will not give you any info until I get the paper work in the mail.  He screamed I do not need your money I will sue you.

Got a call today from this number saying he was Mark Smith from Mark smith and associates. He saif that the case was going to court this friday where i live. I check it out...and NOTHING. I looked up this mark smith ....and Nothing again. Then I called the cops and sheriffs office....no warrants or civil litigation. This scared the crap outta me. My fiance called and the tried to get him to pay 800 to settle. How outrageous?!?!?!?!

Just got a call from this same indian guy. I told him that his call is being recorded as well by me then he hung up. I called back asking what day am i going to jail, he hung up on me again. Our local news station did a report on this scam. NO ONE CAN BE ARRESTED FOR A LOAN THEY DIDNT PAY BACK. you can be sued but not arrested. Ignore these calls!

Get a police report like i did and contact level three communications because they provide them with their servers. I got my police report 2 days ago.

I got a call from apparently two pakistanian guys that i owe a loan the i applied for online and that i never paid it but when i asked what this loan was from he had no idea also they work with matthew and cohen associates. Well I hung up the phone and he had the nerve to leave me a message stating that he was gonna sue me and have me arrested and that i was gonna get fired from my job for the fraud that i have apparently commited they also have my employer information so this is pretty scary.
