I reminded this telemarketer that I am on two 'do not call' lists to stop spies and virus plague.

The Police Assn. has called me for years for fundraising ticket/s to the police ball and they do send a tax stub and sticker.  It is a real thing here.  Whether or not this # is the one that goes with it, I am not sure as I never seen this one before.

This number called just now, no one said anything although I heard background noise as if there was some type of event or party. The person calling just breathed heavily into the phone and then hung up as though it were some 12 year old kid prank calling for fun.

I've received several calls from this number in the last week.  They don't leave a message.  My phone number is on the no-call list.

They called me  yesterday.   We're on do not call.  The guy wanted a donation for the Police Association.  I said we're on do not call. Take this number off your list.  Do not call again. Thank You. Then hung up.

At 6:54pm 10-4-2010, I received a cold call from this number soliciting money, even though I am on the do not call list. The caller did not know my name or address. I would like to know where he got my phone number. His organization has allowed slum landlords to roof flood apartment tenants out of their rooms, have leaky dirty plumbing into tenants rooms, have huge uncollected garbage dumpsters making a health mess at slum landlord's apartment building alleys, etc. The landlords are related to Thomas B Powers, Virginia B Pierce LLC, Peter Moede, Atlas Tannery Maintenance, etc, in Milwaukee.
The organization members are probably named Jennifer Monte and Mario Hernandez of the City of Milwaukee. His organization has sent criminals to occupy some of the slum landlord's buildings, thereby providing income to the landlords, but high risk to the older tenants, forcing many older tenants to leave their homes.

They call then hang up without saying anything.

I too received the call asking for donation.

They are a telemarketing group who is working for a union of the Milwaukee Police Association to get 'donation's.  However, they are NOT allowed to call anyone on the DNC list as they are NOT an actual NON profit (as some of their UN-informed employees try claiming - then I tell them, I'll be filing a complaint again today, want to give me your name? AND it's against the law to give out a FAKE name as well, just so you are aware - phone logs WILL be pulled when the FTC begins a complete investigation into the illegal activities of the company)

I called a number that is given out when using the call back number shown on my CID unit, and you are directed to a 'customer care 800 378 0353' number that tells you HOW to get off their call list if you do not wish to be contacted by them anymore.  HOWEVER.. a local news company found out they may remove you BUT sell off your number to another company - so they still find a way to get money off you.  

Also, most people are NOT aware that when you donate money to these orgs when they call, they KEEP the money, so always ask for the address of the ACTUAL group they are raising for.  They will fight you on this, so be prepared to keep asking for it.  I've received stories of 'we are not allowed to give that information out' to 'we are the only ones that can accept money for them' which is ALL false.  To be fair, the employees have to get you to give them the 'donation' at all costs, including lying because the company encourages it by giving them a ratio to follow for more $$ to them.  Again, be aware, most charities who need the money and do not have the manpower to make these calls have begin farming out the contacts to these TM groups and all they see are at most .10 on the dollar.  It's fact.  Google them.

Why not call the cops and report calls from this number as nuisance calls?

hmmm.... They called me and went through their script, after some questioning they told me that if I donated 40.00 I would recieve 4 ticket vouchers for an Admirals game.  Funny thing is that I was actually thinking about taking the fam to an Ads game sometime soon, so I bit.  We'll see what these vouchers are all about, I did give my cc info, but will not hesitate to dispute the charges if these vouchers turn out to be a scam.

This number has been calling me at least once if not twice a day for the past two weeks. I too am sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OOPS!  sorry - the above 'customer care' phone number is off by one number.  It should read:  1 800 378 0353.  They are available between 9am and 7pm EST.  

When calling after that, you get a recording with prompts.  For DoNotCall service you need to hit 9 without blocking your number.  It reads your number and you select 1 if it has it correct.  It then gives you a recording stating that it will remove you BUT will take up to several days and it may not be from ALL of their lists, or from anyone you have a 'business working relationship with'.  

I made it clear when reporting them on the FTC site that they ARE breaking the law, and everyone do it.  Report every occurence, the FTC does work.  Might be slow, but at least it's something.  

Also, if you talk to someone and they tell you that they are NOT breaking the law since they are contacting you for a non profit - tell them to read the laws again:  the ONLY one that can contact you is the ACTUAL group, not a company calling on behalf of one.  The FTC is VERY clear on it.  Tell them it's a llK fine for each occurence so they might want to start looking for a new job as well since your reporting each and every phone call, and so are others.  They must record the convo, so make sure you instruct them you are on the DNC list and they are NOT to contact you again, and demand to speak with a supervisor.  They will hang up of course.

I've repeatedly asked the various people who have answered (it's all auto dialing on their end, and when someone picks up, whomever becomes available gets a 'beep' on their headset and the call is transferred to them - hence the sometimes long delay in answering when you do pick up) my :who is this and why do you keep calling me?  They do not answer, and immediately kick into their 'sales pitch' - the MPA is looking for your support at this time, as they continue to work on your behalf to keep your neighborhood safe (uh.  no they do not, I do not live in MKE and my local PD does NOT call us for $$.  Ever.)

When you call the number back, it 'recognizes your number' and places you back INTO the call mix for later that day, or the next.  The answering mumbo jumbo states that you have reached the information line for the Milwaukee Police Association and they contacting people in the neighborhood to ask for their support (MONEY) as well as keep them updated with important announcements and this is the most 'cost effective' way to contact you.  If you have any questions, please call their customer care department at 1 800 378 3053 between the hours of 9am and 7pm.  Thank you.

yeah.. I've tried calling several times, mostly to let them know that I am on the NO CALL LIST (evidently, they are 'immune' to this federal law since Wisconsin has their own 'much more detailed' law, and on behalf of the police associations, waived them on in as 'excepted'.  BS.  It's my phone and I didn't give them my number or ask them to call me.  So I've wrote TV6 and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about it and hopefully they put some fire under those that want to be 're-elected'.  The law states:  I have the right to use MY phone as I wish, so long as I do not break any laws while doing this.  So how come, we can't report the police for breaking the laws.. hmm...? obviously it is a telemarketing company doing the harassing, but it makes no difference in my opinion.  I don't want anyone contacting me for anything.  And I've repeatedly told them to STOP calling my house.  They keep right on doing so, sometimes up to 4 times a day.

My caller ID says "Local Call Back Number" 414-208-4435 but they never say anything when I answer or leave a message.  Are they using some kind of auto-dialer that is not working properly? It is very annoying since I have been stalked in the recent past and I do not need any more scary crap in my life. Thanks for listening.
