I just activated a PC Mobile cell phone - I reside in Ottawa and selected a local area code 613 number
Within one day I received 2 calls from 414-242-7448 - and did not answer nor did I open the voice messages (which I'd be charged for unless I called myself from a land phone and retrieved messages.)

Am wondering if Bell or PC Mobile sells the numbers they allocate - to marketers of "free" cruises, etc.
I post this just in case anyone reading this also recently activated a PC Mobile or Bell Mobility cell phone - and received the same "free" offers - which are of course scams - to get your credit card info to pay for taxes, etc!!

Funny how people in Montreal/Quebec are being called all at the same time. Thy must be calling every 514 and 438 number automatically.

From a Saskatchewan location.  also had the phone call; on my cell never or less.  Located the number from a Michigan location.  Name of the person not found.  Guessing the need for money.  DO NOT give out any important information people.

Got a call from this number today. No message. Don't know anyone from there.

I got the same phone call this morning but I did'nt pick it up. The funny thing is I got my cell phone since 2 weeks, only my close friends have my phone number and I'm from Quebec in Canada, so I wonder where they got my phone number. It's a proof that everything is computerized. Be careful!

I ask wind if they are selling my number to a third party and they deny that of course, But seeing my number is unlisted how else would someone in the U.S get it. It is not even a toll free number they are calling from

I have been reporting SPAM phone calls to the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov) in the United States. If we all start to do the same, maybe something will be done about it.

Just received a call on my cell from this #. I do not know any one from the area code so I did not answer it and looked it up. I know very few people in the USA. Turns out it is from WI and apparently from researching this issue it is a call that I suspect is a form of telemarketing and had something to do with winning a trip or cruise.

Don't answer.

The 'won a cruise' call use to come from detroit, now it is coming Wisconsin.  So annoying and costs me money if I accidently answer it.  Any way of getting rid of them?  My phone provider can't seem to do anything about it.

Just got a call from this number, rejected the call as unfamiliar number. This is a telemarketer with an autodialer calling everyone, I'm in Canada and my number is on the Do Not Call List! Bust these people someone!
