I just got a call today from this numer on my cell phone (how the got it I don't know) but when I pressed redial with-in seconds later, I was told by the operator that the number has been disconected and or out of service. I went on line and found out this info, so if someone would call or get in touch with this person give him hell from me

i didn't answer it..but i've been getting the "extended car warranty" calls for a little under a year, now..and it's REALLY annoying..sometimes they call 3 or 4 times a day.

My new take on all these "extend your car's warranty" jerks is to turn it into a sex call:

* press 1
* the agent eventually comes on the line
Her:  Would you like more information about our warranty program?
Me:  No, I'd like more information about the kind of panties you're wearing.
Her:  I'm sorry, I can't give you that information.
Me:  Awe... come on!
Her:  hangs up

::laughing::

So either these jerks are somehow faking their phone number (unlikely) or they've record a "this number is disconnected or no longer in service" *answering message*.  When I dialed them back, I got the standard familiar message but I just pressed lots of keys and it *didn't* do the classic response.  They're faking a disconnected phone number in other words.

Called 10/15/08, 4:18pm PST... I'm in Glendale, CA, so looks like they're sweeping through California now.  *sigh*

Picked up and there was dead silence, it sounded like somebody was on the other end but they refused to say anything. I called back and I heard some annoying weird beeping followed by a message saying that the number had been disconnected along with a lot more noise and busy tones.

In in Murrieta, CA, but my number is registered to Palmdale, CA. Not too far from Glendale.

Called my cell phone today... yesterday... day before... day before... day before...... isn't this harrassment???

There is usually a message about extended car warrenty, but sometimes (like today) there was a silent voice mail.

My cell phone bill shows 18 calls from this number last month.  There have been at LEAST 10 calls so far this month.

thse f***s keep calling me and trying to scam me. everybody report them to FCC please.

Didnt recognize the number and know no one in MI...just didnt answer

Got a call from this number around 11:00 a.m. Texas time. Seems like I've been getting lots of these since putting my vehicle up for sale on Autotrader.com. If anyone ever does put a vehicle in there I would highly suggest not putting your phone number, use an email address for responses only. I've received lots of bogus calls from car companies since the add went out.

I just received the dreaded call!  I did not answer and do not plan to answer in the future.  Thanks for the heads up!

Just got a call on my work cell phone from the same # and looked it up on the internet and it was for a Robert Ostoich.  I did not even bother calling it back.

I just received this call on my cell phone.  They irritate the hell out of me.  Anyhow, I pressed "1" to speak to someone, and actually got a human on the phone.  He asked if he could help me purchase an extended warranty, and I asked him for a business name and address.  After some fumbling around, he told me the name was "Warranty Help Desk", but would not give me an address.  He then said if I have a car model between 1995 and 2007, I would qualify for an extended warranty, and their "courtesy call service" informed them I have said car.  I told him I don't have any cars between 1995 and 2007.  He then apologized and said I'd be removed from their call list in 24 to 48hrs.

I doubt that'll happen, but it was worth a try!

More of the same BS from scammers and the ilk that goes with 'em.  I have been called by this number before, and used this site as a reference.  I don't answer  unknown numbers to my cell. Because it costs me money! :D  Of course No VM left.  Wish there was a way to put a stop to it.

My wife got this call on her cell. it was a recorded message and she pressed 1 to get a rep. He said, after some pressing, the company was called WARRANTY HELP DESK.   He said they are contracted by car warranty companies to get additional warranties. She asked who contracted them and he said he does not have access to that info. He said he only needed non personal info to proceed. She told him she thought he was not legit and he seemed offended. She said to remove her number and never call back.
I previously worked in the 'compliance' field and they are breaking several TCPA regulations; 1. they cannot solicit on cell phones and 2. cannot push a non toll free number (especially a pirated bogus number) 3. the caller ID number must connect you to a live agent or give you the option to speak with a live agent.
If you get this call answer it, press 1 and find out who they say they are. Press them on the violations noted above and generally waste their time like they have done to all of us.

I got the call on my work number, didn't pick up.  Car-related theories sound credible b/c I recently leased and gave the # to the dealership.

They've changed numbers. Now the number showing up is 773-665-4227. The computer comes on and says the warranty on my car is about to expire. I pressed "1" BOTH TIMES that they called. The first time the a*hole hung up on me when I informed him that I had a 1990 model. The second time the A*HOLE told me that I had called him! The calls are transferred to a call center in Atlanta. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred by the A*hole to a Whole
A*, who told me that he could not tell me where he was located. Having worked at a reputable calling center myself, I can tell you that a reputable calling center is not afraid to tell whose name is on the top of the paycheck.

I'M TIRED OF IT! -- It is 1:45am and I just got yet another call from this number. ONE FOURTY FIVE IN THE MORNING!! <B> WHAT CAN WE DO TO STOP THIS?</b>

I have been getting calls from the "Warranty Help Desk" and it is getting rediculous!! Its not from this number, but it sounds like the same company. I've asked them to put me on their do not call list about 20 times and they keep calling. I tried reporting it to the better business beurau but they need all kinds of information that the company won't give you. The lady from the Warranty Help Desk told me that they dont even have a phone number there. Does anyone know what we can do to stop this???

Received a call on 10/13 at 2:48PM, did not answer because I did not recognize the phone number but from what I read I am glad I did not answer.

someone called me on my cell during my 5th period geometry class but luckily my phone was on silent. they left a message and i checked it, car warranty crap. so i registered my cell phone for the do not call registry.

caller from this number called me on 10/16 at 8:37 pm pacific time, and I did not answer, immediately called back and the recording stated number was out of service.

I get calls from this number often, on all three of my work lines, on my cell phone, and even at home.  Sometimes it hits all five in a day!  It's that stupid recording about "Second Notice" of my warranty expiring (gosh, go you think they really want to extend the warranty on a twelve year old Jeep Wrangler?

Of course, this same stupid recording also comes in under other numbers!

It's been calling me on and off for a couple weeks, an automated message about car warranty but I don't have a car!!!

Just got the call on my cell phone. No message thugh.
