I just received a call from this number, she said something about my credit card...did not understand very much,,,

Sounded like a SCAM to me.  Once they got rude with me on the phone I told them to stop calling and they hung up on me to.  Checked them out at http://www.phonesearchreview.com and proved they were lying by telling me they were local.  Would like to think that is the end?

They keep changing numbers too. They will use one for about two days, then the third day it will be a new number and so on and so forth. I believe the numbers are spoofed. I have noticed that they only call Monday-Friday. I have gotten to the point that my answering machine is always on and when I see a strange number calling, I don't answer. Why should we keep having to monitor our own phones? Why do we keep having to file millions of complaints? They will just keep doing what they are doing and get away with it. They are getting around call blocking and anonymous call rejection too. It's a sad state of affairs when people have to constantly monitor their phones all because crooks apparently are allowed to call us.

I let my voicemail get it and of course they didn't leave a message. So when I tried to call the number back to see who it was. Sorry this is not a correct number is what I got!

If you have either a voice(best) or non voice modem in your PC that can read the callerID info that's sent during the first ring then you can do what I do to put them in their place.  You'll still get one ring but no more; this way you'll know not to answer.  Or if you can turn off all the phones ringers in your home and leave your computer on, you'll hear no rings except those you want to hear over your computers speakers.  With this program you'll also get to assign distinctive rings with .wav files.  Anyone that's on your ZAP list gets answered, then your modem either screeches in their ear and hangs up (in the case of a non voice capable modem), or plays a recording of your choice and then screeches in their ear and hangs up (Voice Modem). Either way you only get calls that you decide to ALLOW through and no others.   After months of this, only one or two callers have persisted.  No I am in no way affiliated with this program other than using it myself.  I love it, I just wish I had a voice modem because the program comes with that standard bell telephone message that starts with those three tones and then says: "we're sorry, the number you have reached is not in service, please check the number and dial again."  It also comes with a few other pre-recordings but of course you can create your own.  Anyway here's the link if you want it:  http://www.phonetray.com/

Don't worry about the $29.99 price on the home page, if you click on the downloads link at the top of the page you'll be able to download the FREE version, which is the one I use.  Of course I plan on buying the full version once I'm back on my feet again to support the authors generosity in providing a free version for all us "hit by the recession people."

The culprit is Account Services.  (There is a legimate company with that name but they are not the callers).  They seem to be based in Florida regardless of what your caller ID says.  Guess they gather up disposable cell phones from all over.  Since there are so many numbers involved the complaint registry is not likely to easily nab these scammers.  Other numbers that have called me from the same outit are 951-750-3980, 678-499-2999, 763-370-9716, 402-982-0468, 626-273-8212.  I usually lead them on in thier spiel and just when they get really into it, I tell them to hang on-- someone is at the door and lay down the phone and never return to it.  So far the record amount of their time has been a full ten minutes.  THis makes them angry and thenj they try to call back (from a different number) which wastes a little more oftheir time.  Others have used an ear splittine police whistle or air horn.
    Would be interested in any other strategies in dealing with these guys.

I received a similar call like this as well, wanting to lower the interest rates on my credit cards to at least 6% and have at least $4000.00 of credit card debt. The guy wanted my account #, my zip code, and my credit card customer service # to verify the amount on my card. He stated he was calling from Florida but when I googled his phone # on from my caller id, it came back with Wisconsin. Definitely a Scam.

received a call from this number at ten to nine.  Did not answer and they hung up.  Called the number back and the message said that number does not recieve phone calls.  This is a scam.

Same as above. Sais they hade mailed things, which is not true. Said they were with credit card services which is a scam. They have been calling here from different numbers for a few years. They usually hang up or swear at me when I say I'm not interested so tonight I just swore at them first and hung up. I always report these calls to the appropriate authorities but they change the number frequently. For some reason they haven't been able to stop these dishonest people.

I just filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov on these phishing scammers!

1/11/11  I too just got a call from this number, regarding my "final notice" etc. When I asked for the name of the company so I could Google them, the caller "Ayisha" asked if I wanted to speak to her floor supervisor. When I got the sup on the line I asked again the name of the company (leaving out the Google part) and I was told Consumer Account Services.  He said my name and number came from the credit bureaus, Equifax and ? Then I mysteriously got disconnected! Funny!! Then I called their number as seen on my caller ID, and Funny again! I got a recording saying " the number you are trying to call is not reachable PPS 6180". What a bunch of jerks!! Hopefully nobody takes their scummy bait!!  Thank you to the post-er Erin for posting the reverse lookup showing their location in Milwaukee WI.

Received a call at 6:36 p.m. Ohio time from 414 526 8862. Caller ID said call was a cell phone call from Wisconsin.  Recorded message from a credit card services business which said they had called and tried to reach  me several times (they have...avoided it before, but tired of the phone ringing) and this was my last opportunity to get a reduced rate on my credit cards with a balance of at least $3,000.  To speak to a representative I had to press "1".  I did so to ask to be taken off of their stupid call list even tho I'm already on the National "Do Not Call List" which seems to have become worthless starting back during the election process....as calls from all sorts of people are being received!  Anyway, when I pressed "1", i was disconnected!  So aggravating!

Just received a call today, when asked who is calling, what company, etc.  She said I was being rude and kept interrupting that she was trying to tell me.  I told her I wasn't interrupting her, that businesses usually identify themselves......just wanted to see what she would say.  Then she put me on hold, I heard music.  Day before received a call from same number, husband asked same questions, when he questioned the person she swore at him with f _________________.  So why won't the National do not call list do anything about this if you are on the list??????  They need to be sued!

Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer (because I didn't recognize the number) and they left no message. My caller ID listed it as "Cell Phone WI" which I assumed meant the call came from Wisconsin. A quick Google search on the area code confirmed this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_code_414

I too received a call from this number. They I believe are a bunch of scammers, do not give them any information atall. I want to report them ,but have no particulars on a address or city, name!

Received call on 1/12/2011.  After trying to solicit more details about the company and how my information was obtained, was told my name would be removed from their listing.  The person was very rude  -- indicating I was wasting his time.

I got the same call a few minutes ago.  When I hung up, I immediately got another call from a different phone number (720-454-8913 CO) with the same message.

Got a robo-call from that number just a few minutes ago. Hung up on them. I hope I didn't hurt the bot's feelings...

I received the same call today @ 9:55am on 01/12/2011 *SCAM* Of course I didn't press one, because credit card companies do not call you like that!

The company is called "Cardholder Services".

A simple Google search will show you that they have been scamming people since at LEAST 2007 and have had numerous lawsuits brought against them. I believe they are based out of Virginia Beach.

Anyway, the Do Not Call List does not work, no matter how many times you report them. I found the best way to deal with them is to press the designated button to speak with an operator and when they answer, to blow a whistle directly into the receiver for as long as possible, then hang up.

I continually get these kinds of calls.  We are on a no call list.  This is an annoyance.  This is not the reason why we have phones.  Phone Number 414-526-8862

I got a call, but didn't answer. I NEVER answer calls that I don't recognize. Decent companies leave voicemails.
