I'm with you! How do they get my cell number, yet when I call back the number on my caller ID the number has been disconnected or no longer in service?!? How can that be when I'm receiving a call from that very same phone number? Anyone have an answer?

I just rcv'd a phone call from this number from a female with a heavy accent and I can hear in the background that it sound like a calling center. She said bcs I filed my taxes on time, the government want to give me $7k. and asked my how I want it in a visa or another form of payment . then she gave me a confirmation number for XX3341. I need it to call someone name "Nelson Gable" and he can help me further on how to get this money. They want me to call 206-317-1390. I told her that the first thing is that the government do not give anything just because. and that she i needed to confirm that she really was with the government and then she did not ask any more question and said for me to call Nelson. I did not call. I am sure is a Scam....

Just received same call..Want $190 & you get 7000 GRANT PLUS THAT MONEY BACK...

I had the same phone call from a woman today (1/7/2012) she told me to  call 202-580-8543 to collect my 7k. I then called spoke with an Indian guy who was very rude when I asked about his official business with the company. He says "I can not help you with this info at this time go to grant.gov and check it out" Who in the hell can't provide any valuable information when they work for that company. SCAM

Called for the 4th time today they never leace a message and when you call the number back it says it's disconnected...Area code 414 in in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and it is a Telemarketer with LOTS of complaints about them...I found that info on Spokeo.com

I received a call on 1/06/2012 from 414-677-7137 I answered and the party hung up , there was no response at all.

Needs to STOP calling my phone!!

A women called me today and said the same thing to me. When I was asked how I wanted the money < I replyied mail me a check. I was told they do not mail checks , It can only be to bank account < debit card ect. I told the women that  I recorded the conversation and That this is a scam dont call back.they havent.

Let the answering machine pick up...woman say "hello...hellloooooo....."  then hung up.  They will go on my call block list.  No wonder I never pick up the phone if I don't recognize the number.

Received a call from this number today--showed up as unknown on caller id.  I do not answer calls I don't recognize.  Figured it might be scam, as we have received hundreds of these calls in the past 6 months, from various numbers, and various identities.

Been getting calls from this number as well.  The problem is, they are using a program to hide their actual number and that makes it impossible for anyone to do anything to stop them.  Really ticks me off.  My advice is don't answer or answer and mess with them, keeping them on the phone as long as you can.... just to waste their time.  lol

They called me saying they are from the government in Washington DC and that I won 7,000.00$ for free. They knew my name and full address. They asked me my age. They gave me another number to call in Washington DC (206-317-1390) with a code in order to receive the money. It looks like a SCAM. If this is true, I will loose 7 grans because there is no way I will call that number. If it truely was from the government, they would simply send me a check with a "congratulation" letter. Received a call from a heavily accented Indian woman also stating this was the US Govt dept of grants offering me $7000.  I told her I didn't believe her and asked again the name. She couldn't communicate well and stated my name again.  I asked for the number she was calling from.  I had to ask mult. times b/c she didn't know what I was asking. Finally she hung up.  Calling police to report.

I got the same call from the so called " U S Grant Department." This lady could hardly speak any english. She said I picked to receive $7000. I asked how and why am I getting this money, she said the same thing based on a survey, that I had no arrests on my record (first sign of a scam, I have a DUI) and that I haven't claimed bankruptcy. She asked to verify my address, no harm in that I did, and was told to call Michelle Smith, her manager to get information on how to receive my money.. cash. Ya, cash, no check, cash. I guess they are going to deliver it. Oh how the U S Government is nice to us... Do not answer this call or give them any information. It's some sort of scam duh

Rcvd a call from them this morning. The woman on the phone sounded like she was from over seas... maybe India or something AND there was a whole lot of noise in the background - like there were 30 other folks in a 10 x 10 room making the same phone calls to random people. Sd she was calling from the US government and that I was hand selected to receive $20,000. Whaaaaat, lady?!?! I quickly said "Uh... no thanks" and she hung up.

Person with accent asked for Wende, I answered, Yes? They said Merry Christmas and hung up.

Just hung up when I answered.

This is someone calling claiming to be from the US Government's Grant Dept. I was told that based on a survey of my state and area and that I had no bankruptcies or arrests on my record, that I had been selected to receive $7000 in government grants for school. I was given another number to call back to verify my information. That number was 202-621-0149. After talking to this person for a couple minutes, it came out that they required me to pay $190 security check fee in order to receive this money...obviously a scam. When I told him that I wouldn't pay any money, I was hung up on.

I received a phone call from this phone number 414-677-7137, saying that I received a grant from the US Government. I told them never to call me again and to take my name and number off their list.

Someone from this # just called my cell I answered and didnt say anything just to see if I could identify their voice. It was a woman and I heard alot of noise in the background.  She said hello a few times and then hung up. I called the # back and was told that the number was disconnected!

I just got this phone call and the woman was very hard to understand and she already had all my information and when I told her that Cash is how I wanted the money she started saying that I will have to call this number and talk to "Swagger" and then with my information they would release the money. So stupid. I wanted to confirm that is was a scam so glad I found this website. They have been calling like once a week till I finally answered. Thank you for your posts people!!!

I just received a call from man with heavy Indian accent stating the U.S. Government grant office selected individuals with good credit, who pay bills and taxes on time, and have never filed bankruptcy to receive $7K.  He said he was calling from Washington D.C., but had a Wisconsin phone number.  He wanted to know if I wanted to get the money in my bank account, Visa card or cash, and started asking personal information.  He refused to give call back number, website address, or supervisor's name to confirm anything.  I kept asking questions until he got so frustrated  that he said he has to call thousands of people and he will have a supervisor call back.  I won't hold my breath waiting...

Called said I was to be given a grant from the govt for 7000. Because I pay my taxes & bills. Just needed to give them my bank acct # or credit card. I hung up. Reported them to police.

They keep calling me and saying they are with the U.S. Government.  I won't give them any information and tell them not to call, but they keep calling back multiple times a day.

They have called me twice this week. I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message. Annoying, since I registered with the Do Not Call Registry months ago.

Philippine woman keeps calling my mothers phone asking for me. From the information that I've read, I have definitely never applied for a grant, and I know for sure the US government would send me an official letter in the mail. Block this number. Complete scam.
