i have been receiving calls from this phone# for a few weeks now. At first my caller ID just said Wisconsin County now its coming up on my CallerID as WI County Pol  they think they're slick by adding Pol at the end to make people think its a real call from police---Didn't fool me cause I remembered the phone# and didn't answer.

This number is from the WI police association. They are exempt from the do not call list. They are calling to try to get support for certain legislation they are trying to get passed in Madison in order to help the police forces in Wi better do their jobs. Also seek charitable donations. They have annoyingly called my home daily when I answer it hangs up. Return calls get no where. I had to google it because my caller Id showed WI city police, which makes you think there is a problem. Just wanted to let everyone know who it is actually calling.

Repeated daily calls, hang up after I let it go to answering machine, Got the multiple daily calls about a month ago, starting up again.  Blocked my own number and called, answering message does not identify the 'business', just says 'no one at the Association is available to take your call."
Most likely an annoying scam soliciting money using the name of 'police' to encourage answer/donation.

Sick of them calling and looking for donations! We are on the do not call list and they call after we go to bed! Way too late!

I get phone calls from number. On Do Not Call List. Don't telemarketers know people need so much sleep? People should put themselves in your place. I turned phone off and will be missing valuable calls because of them!

Buy a Digitone. I went from 3 calls a day to 1 every 3 months. I also have a Panasonic phone with DECT which also allows me to block numbers. Spend the money, or deal with it cause the gubbmint dont care!

Calls started about October 1, 2013.  Left no message.  When my wife answered on 10-8-13 the caller asked for a different named person, but would not identify himself except he was from "the association."  When my wife pressed him about the name he was asking for, he said, "well, you already know what this is about." When she pressed about who he was calling for, he hung up.  Calling back just gets a voice mail that seems not to be checked.

You can block calls from any unwanted parties by going on your phone carrier's website and looking up Blocking Calls.  I think you can block up to 30 numbers - your carrier will give you detailed instructions how to do this, so you won't be bothered by these idiots.

May be a legitimate company, but is NOT the MPD or any other actual police department in Wisconsin.  Donate direct, since most of these companies take HUGE percentages of the donations.

PS: Charitable companies are exempt from "do not call", but this place is far from a "good charity".

I got a call from this number, 414-877-5700.  No one there and no message.  After reading some of the notes below I had a funny thought.  In WI, Cities have Police Departments and Counties have Sheriff Departments.  How can this be a call from a WI County Police Department group?  Ask for info to be sent out.  Don't give them your address...they got your phone number, so they should have your address as well.  I would suggest giving them a 2 word or single finger salute!

Answered the call and nothing was said.  On the do not call list, why these calls keep coming in.

These scammers must be some of the most stupid! When they call they only let it ring 2 or 3 times--not enough time for most folks to even get to the phone to answer it. How do they hope to pull off a scam if they don't even get their pitch to people! STUPID  SCAMMERS!!!!!!!

Anyone should be able to tell that this is a scam----they call repeatedly, but never leave a message!

Here they come again for another round ----the paid telemarketers, pretending to be police officers, soliciting for the "Wisconsin County Police Association" I don't know if it's a legitimate charity or not, but I DO know where the vast majority of the contributed money goes---right into the pockets of the paid telemarketers! They can call me every day until next Christmas if they like, but they will not get one cent.They have been known to also use other various 414 877 numbers in their efforts to fool people into donating.

On 3/2/13 caller ID said Wi County Police, Rang three times. I missed the call and called it back.
Never rang just went to message that said mailbox is full. We have two teenage children and my
worst fear is that they may have been in an accident. I do NOT find this call funny! These thugs
need to be stopped. Any reputable number does NOT let their mailbox get full.

I quit getting calls from this number about a month ago,and they have started again. I am disabled and it is hard for me to get to the phone sometimes. Can I sue these yo yo's or something, to end this?

I have been receiving calls from this number (it's always 414-877-5xxx, last 4 digits change).  The reverse look-up says it is Peerless Network of Wisconsin LLC.  When I answer the phone, there is never anyone there.  When I try to call back I get a "mailbox is full" message.  I have been getting at least 3 calls a day for months.  I'm not sure what I can do about this, but I am getting really tired of them calling.  I never answer when I see their number on caller ID, but the phone still rings, sometimes as late at 10:00 pm.  Very annoying.  I'd like to legally report, but I'm sure how to go about that.  Any suggestions?

I asked them to take me off their calling list and he said "why don't you take me off your pick up list"  WHAT THE HECK!

I just got a call from the number also. The caller didn't say anything

I'm pretty certain that we are not the only people getting this annoying call. Has anyone found anything tangible like what phone company or who the source is so they can be turned over to the authorities?  If so, please post and we can start taking some action.

Never give donations to a stranger who calls you. Might be a scammer. Might be a legit independent fund raiser who keeps 99% for themselves and sends 1% to the charity. Best to donate directly to the charity so they will get 100% of your donation.

Its easy to suggest to not answer the call if you don't recognize the number, when it comes through on the caller ID as from a police department in the area code of 414, and you happen to have family that lives in that area code, it would seem foolish to ignore it.  If one of my kids have been in an accident, I'd like to know about it.  

That being said, I did answer the call, and it was disconnected after about10 seconds.  I redialed the number on the ID, and the message said the voice mail box was full.  Which lead me to this website...I agree, the call is apparently a scam.

I know it is a nuisance to get these calls, but if people don't recognize the number why do they answer the call?  Seems to me that if it is someone who you really need to speak with they will leave a message.  The only "junk" call I've gotten that left a message was a recorded Seniors' Medical Alert call.  It takes some discipline to not answer a ringing phone, even if it is a number you do not know.  Took me about a week to learn to ignore them.
