Also received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. Had a near indecipherable accent, the only other things I understood were a vague threat not to... something, and a telephone number. Didn't bother calling back.

A guy who says his name is Robert Franklin and he is from the IRS. His accent sounds like he is from India or some place like that. He then tells me I have to call this same number right back and speak with Edward Maxwell .  when you call back the line is either busy or a recording for magic jack phone information.

I just got another phone call from the same guy with the same speal and i said that i know that this is a scam and we called the FBI  and they will be meeting up with them in San Francisco- this is where the number was from on my phone

I just had this and lady struggled to spell her name!!! Anna Watson is the name she gave me. She said it a few times and I told her to spell it and she hesitates and then struggled.

These people ended up calling my husband a total of 8 times today.  He reported it to our local police department who informed him that they have had several complaints regarding this phone number and it is indeed a SCAM.  They advised him to just not answer when they call and ignore the voice mails.  Duh.  

the same guy just called me from that EXACT SAME NUMBER!  i called him on the fact that the IRS is in Kansas NOT CALIFORNIA!  he hung up on me :)

I just got a call from this guy too!! I was freaking out till I googled it thank god for this web site !!!

My minor son received 4 messages today on his cell phone stating they were from the IRS and he needed to call back ASAP.  Thank goodness he called me to tell me before he called.  I called and spoke to what appeared to be an Indian or Pakistani accent. Said his name was "Agent something with the IRS."  He told me it was a misunderstanding as their records showed my son owed back taxes but obviously could not be due to his age and that we can ignore any further phone calls.  Thought that was weird so I decided to google the phone number and found this.  Beware!

My husband just called from work...he said a guy with a heavy accent called him and said he was from the IRS and that he owed over 3 thousand dollars from back taxes and if he didn't pay over the phone right then the police would be waiting for him when he got home.  The guy claimed a letter was sent last week...we received no such letter and do not owe any back taxes.  My husband could barely understand this man.  I came on here and found all these comments about this being a scam...which is the first thing I said to my husband.  He will be stopping by our local police station on his way home from work to report this incident and give them the phone number. The number was 415 251 1590.  THIS IS A SCAM.

Received a call from this number claiming to be the IRS to collect debt because I was "audited" they told me it's been an outstanding number for the past seven years and that my bank account would be linked if no action was taken and that I would be arrested within 3 hours by my local police deptarment. I contacted my local police department they said this is a scam and not to give any information. The people are hoping they have people call them back and give out their social security numbers. They will wipe out our account and all your information in a few quick minutes! Be careful of this fraud!!! It is a scam!!

Phone numbers were 415-251-1590 and 415-251-4089. They are what seems to be Indian speaking people broken English. Two men have called and one woman. One of the men was Chris the woman claims to be an Anna Watson.

Same number, heavy accent. Left two messages so I called back to complain and tell him to stop calling. He mumbled something about IRS and knew my name (from caller ID, I assume.) He said we owed back taxes, I said stop calling me, we don't owe taxes, and he said I would end up in court. Before I could say anything else he hung up.

415-251-1590 called 3 times on 4/26/2014.

Today (April 26, 2014), I received same phone call from someone named "Robert Luis" claiming to be from IRS.  He said to call him back because it is a "TIME SENSITIVE" matter.  He gave the call back # 415-251-1590 but the caller ID # that showed up on my cell phone is 415-251-4089.  I think it is a SCAM also.  Please post if you encounter same experience or phone call.  BE CAREFUL & DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFO when someone CALLS YOU.

Same number 415-251-1590...same South Asian (Indian or Pakistani) accent. Couldn't keep his story straight...FBI...IRS...both?

Same Indian guy pertending to be from IRS.  Says to call his supervisor about a lawsuit.  Scam!!!

Phone rang, asked for my husband by name. Claimed to be from the IRS and they were warning him that the police would show up in 45 minutes. Got a similar call from a DC number a few weeks ago, same story. Caller had an Indian accent. Last time he put his "supervisor" on the line, but the voice was no different, just more abusive. This time, my husband just hung up on him.
