Unsolicited text thanking me for visiting their site and telling me to call a 1-800 number to claim a Walmart gift card. It's a scam, don't bother replying.

The message read: Thanks 4 visiting our website please call 877+883+2430 to claim your $100 WalMart gift card voucher! reply STOP 2  unsub

I have yet to visit WalMart's website on this new PC

They sent unwanted text msg.

have received multiple texts several times a week offering things that i have not signed up for. i reply stop to unsubscribe, but continue to get the texts.

Uhhh, no, this is a bad idea.  Read the post above yours it makes MUCH more sense!

What was the point of your post other than to show that you are a know-it-all moron who probably is working with these fools.

The "point", is to establish a history so that many posts can be compared which may (or may not) lead to a solution for this one particular caller.

He didn't use a new phone line!?  Really?   *** new flash ***   Thanks for the information!  I was truly concerned the spammer was ripping out his existing wiring each time he was about to make a new call!  Thanks for setting us all straight!

I spoke with customer service at Verizon and they informed me that if you get a message like this you should "ALWAYS text the word STOP back to the #" or you could be signing yourself up for a $9.99 a month service that they will continue to charge you for if you ignore it.  She also said Verizon has a number blocking service.

Got the $100 Walmart gift text this morning. I'm with Sprint. If you try to Unsubscribe then they know the number is live and rather going on a "Do Not Call" list you'll be placed on a "Bug To Death" list.

Got same message and we are on Verizon... just paid my bill and this is a text I had to pay for.. rediculous.

Got the same message as RB on the first page...cannot unsubscribe with STOP.....keeps saying unable to send.  Cannot block the text/sms either.....I'm with T-Mobile and rarely do I get unsolicited calls/texts.  I also have been on the DNC registry for a couple of years.

Got same as others. Researching to see if there is a way to deal with these jerks.

I have received numerous texts from this number, my husband and my two younger children have also - I pay for each of these on my kids phones.  I have listed all 4 phone on the do not call list about 3 months ago.  I havee replied stop and unsub as it tells me to but, I still keep getting them

The National Do Not CALL registry is not a National Do Not SMS Message Me registry.  I'll bet these jerks are using a loophole in the law to blast us with their garbage SMS text msgs.
