Received a call from (415) 363-9552 at 1:23 p.m., 03/13/2014. I didn't answer the call and the caller didn't leave a message. I'm on the Federal Do Not Call List for telemarketers. Caller ID indicates call came from the San Francisco/North Bay Area.

I wish they would stop calling me. I didn't answer.

I never pick up unknown calls I always say if it's really that important they will leave a message.
And of course they never do.

I find the do not call list is working lately well in a year or so...filing on their complaint line is worthless so I went straight to the fcc not much better there

I received a call from this number and when I picked up the phone, it disconnected. Caller ID came up as XO. This call came immediately after a call from 360-322-6685 asking to lower my credit card interest. I told the lady off in no uncertain terms. Then I got the call from XO. Seems strange. The DNC list does no good for nusiance calls. I am on the list and get calls all day long.
I agree with you, Silent Ringer, Automatic Reject. I make them waste their time and get hopeful about closing a sale by making up all but the last four numbers of a credit card, then I tell them in a slow voice, "OO Baby in the Box" lol. They get so mad and I get so glad.
THis is such a nuisance and strain on so many people, I thought about a public service announcement to warn people just like they did to raise awareness about diseases, smoking, etc.

Scum telemarketing firm calling from a boiler room operation.

This was about my 250-300th solicitation to be first on Google. Automated call, had to push a number to be removed. I don't do that since it just confirms there is a live person at the other end.

Called my corporate cell phone (ILLEGAL). These twerps need to be strung up on a pole so that we can line up to kick them in the balls. Repeatedly.
karen 2014-03-11 23:06:13 Unknown
called my cell, i never answer unknown calls, plus only few trusted friends and fam have my cell number...
Anon-y-mouse 2014-03-11 19:07:33 Unknown
It seems they are invading cell phones now, too. I got a couple, but it revealed "No time duration" for the call. But, they did leave a message. (Those two were political calls which ARE permitted by No Call List.) The GOP is NOT my party, so I hope they're having fun. One more reason to VOTE BLUE in November! ;)
Anon-y-mouse 2014-03-11 19:05:11 Unknown
PS: I do use call blocking(*60) thru my phone company, so just added "415-363-9552" to auto-block, and also blocked it on my phone besides.

Call from 415-363-9552
Caller said (may have been a robot) "Do you have a drug or alcohol problem?"
I hung up immediately. I'm expecting some important business calls, and I almost HAVE to answer my phone right now. They are ruthless, and it is pathetic that "Do Not Call List" is NOT NOT NOT handling these low-lifers.

Here's one for the hacker books: my father-in-law txts me this morning this number called his cell (can't imagine how they got that number) claiming this number represents a Collection Agency handling my "defaulted" student loans...Federal Student Loans, which, by the way never use private agencies when they have the IRS at their disposal (indication it's a scam #2 ; #1 is not calling me as my loan servicor has all my info). My loans are all current, as verified by the source, and a little digging around finds apparently multiple scams coming from this same number. My response? I shall program an auto-dialer thru multiple lines BACK to the number with recordings of accountability and shame (LOL) and give them a taste of their own medicine. A complaint to the BBB never hurts either. It pays to stay on top of your accounts AND to always know who you're dealing with. Shame they didn't Google ME before messing with my Dad >:[

Robot said his name was Brian Williams and he had talked to me the other day about my student loan debt and credit debt. Dude just kept talking and talking and never took a breath. I just hung up.
Idiot 2014-03-11 15:26:49 Unknown
They don't read these pages so your number won't get taken off by telling them to stop calling. Besides, you didn't leave them your phone number...
Are you really so stupid that you think they'll read this and remove your unknown number from their calling list? Apparently so...

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
Nobody there, it hung up like most of them.

From what I' know, Do Not Call lists will not keep people from calling if you gave them your number. You agreed by that cruise form to have them call you, in a legal sense.
Bryan 2014-03-06 19:40:53 Unknown
Just got a call, recording it sounded like. Something about speaking the other day about stupid loan and unsecured line of credit. I hung up before they were finished since I knew I had no student loan debt.
Dawn 2014-03-06 18:57:57 Unknown
I'm not on any do not call lists! I answered one survey a year ago to win a cruise.. turned into about 60 telemarketers calling me. Card services, med supplies, security systems, ect. I don't think getting registed with the Do Not Call List helps after reading all these complaints. The government could help with these scammers... but they are too busy scamming the american people so I don't see that happening anytime soon!
Joseph 2014-03-06 16:57:04 Telemarketer
Called twice and no recording. Just disconnected so I'm reporting them to the "Do Not Call" registry.
