This is one of a series of related numbers that calls. I suspect that the free magazine offer is to acquire information.

I still put our business numbers on the do not call list. It's cut way down on the calls.
Receptionist9 2014-04-24 17:59:12 Unknown

Spam.

Are you a business owner? There is no do not call list for businesses, which is frustrating because we get more calls than consumers do.

These idiots call several times a day. My # used to be a business #. I've told them that many times & told them to take me off their list but STILL they call. I have elderly (in their 90,s) parents who live with me & who know not to answer that number but they shouldn't have to bother with checking the phone. I'm afraid they might get hurt trying to get to the phone. I'm tracking the number of times they call then will see if I can get an attorney to handle it & force them to stop.

my husband and I 2014-04-11 13:32:02 Telemarketer
both got a call on our cells 20 minutes apart wanting to verify some personal info from us .
One was for a free subscription to a magazine the other for a free blood sugar moniter.
Are they kidding me?
They both started the conversation with "we would like to verify your information"Terrible way to trap some elderly people into thinking that this is a real call

A very professional telemarketing company renewing my subscription to an industry magazine. I'm happy they connect with me for publications that help me so much in my job. Reading magazines gives me a competitive edge over those who don't or won't read about the industry.

I have subscriptions to numerous trade magazines. Once a year I am contacted by someone seeking to update the information so that I can continue to receive the publication. If you don't want to continue receiving the publication they will probably try to retain you as they sell advertising based on circulation. Likewise they need to update your information to be sure you are qualified to receive the publication for free, AND, I would assume, to be able to provide demographic information to their advertisers.
This is the situation for the call I received from this number. They may also solicit for paid publications, I cannot speak to that, but being contacted for the purpose I described above is innocent although admittedly still annoying.

Caller ID was "VOIP CALLER." Presumed telemarketer.
Ed 2014-03-20 21:17:15 Unknown
It's one of those free technical/professional magazine subscription things. The person I talked to kept saying "okay, last question" after every answer I would give, so I just hung up. She tried calling back, but I just let it go into voicemail. I have neither the time nor the patience for this foolishness over a publication that I would rather not receive. The caller ID comes up "VOIP CALLER".
David 2014-03-20 20:45:19 Unknown
Who and why do you keep calling and never leave a message?
FunnyGuy 2014-03-19 21:59:18 Unknown
Post a picture of male model in craigslist M4M personals, provide their number for method of contact..
(For extra fun request the callers to start talking dirty right away)

Do what I do! Take a long black piece of paper, 4 feet long by 11 inches. Run through you fax machine and tape at the end to form a loop. After hours, fax it to them and hope they have an older fax machine. They will come to their office with 100+ black sheets, no toner and a burned up machine :D

Been receiving calls from this number the last couple of days. Caller ID says" VOIP Caller". Never left a message.

This number is now making political calls on behalf of a sore court case loser who has admitted to campaign finance violations against a candidate whom he has a personal vendetta against this person who is a person of integrity.

They kept calling me. Came up San Francisco/North Bay Area. Never answered till just now. Told me they wanted to renew my magazine subscription. Told them I don't have any magazine subscriptions and she said they were going to send it to me. I told her no and she said" Yes, good bye." I said no again and she said "Yes, goodbye." I told her not to send me anything and she said "yes. goodbye" then she hung up on me.

Caller ID showed VOIP caller. Male with accent asked for one of our engineers by first name. (I guess he called prior and receptionist hung up on him, so he called back and I got him. LOL) I said: "One moment, please", and hung up on him.
