As others have mentioned, this turned out to be from the AT&T Privacy Manager feature.  

I had two messages on my phone after first getting a call from "Privacy Manager" at 415-545-0073,  then one minute later from "Take a message" at 415-545-0009

The first message was dead air, but the second was from my bank letting me know the outcome of a problem I'd had.  

Nothing nefarious about these calls for me.  

I received this call a 2:00M. this person made no sens and refused to tell us what they wanted. I finally hung up on them. I want this to stop!!

I've had the same experiences with most of the above. Today, I got a privacy manager call 415-545-0073 which I didn't answer, then it called me again within 5 minutes from the same number. This second time, it left a message number 415-545-0009. I called this number but it's not longer in service. I suspect it's just another scam.

I have a home office, and I finally had to switch from having a business line with ATT to a residential number. Why? Because every day, I received endless phone recordings pitching me. ATT lackies deny that ATT gives out or sells listed and unlisted business phone numbers, but after my being in biz over 20 years, I noticed that virtually every year, when ATT made me "upgrade" my phone plan, within 2 weeks, the number of phone solicitations from all these scam companies would increase. Given the blatant timing of each time the number of phone solicitations coming in escalated, pitching me things, the more it is obvious that even with just upgrading phone services, ATT sells these numbers as being new businesses to pitch. ATT PENALIZED me for giving up my biz line by charging me a fee for UN-becoming a business line, and by also charging me a fee for making it RESIDENTIAL. So NO, you can't get off the merry-go-round, without changing your number to a residential one. And for the companies that already have this number from when it was listed as a biz with the phone company, it will likely take 3 years to get the present clowns pitching me to stop calling.

I keep getting calls from 415-545-0009 and then 415-545-0073.  It ranges from lowering a creit card rate to someone speaking in a language I don't understand.  I am on the do not call list.

Call and  then hang up. Do not have any idea who is calling.

get this call and the last digit 73, on an ongoing basis, this is ATT? I am geting very tired of these calls, I have an unlisted phone

Called three times one call after another, the first two times hung, finally third time they left a message. It was a call I was expecting but not from this number. The call was from the City of Simi Valley. That's in California area code should have been 805 and the number is completely different than what The City of Simi Valley CA should be. I asked the person why does my privacy manager show her number is 415-545-0009 and she just said; really!!?.

Same thing here.  Didn't pick up first call when my phone ID came up "Privacy Mgr."  Picked up when the second call came in immediately afterwards and was a "live" person asking for a Martha Rojas.  Indicating they were calling from the Better Business Bureau.  This time I picked up, indicated there was "no Martha here", the caller acknowledged my answer and we hung up.  If any further calls come in, I'll ignore.  How ironic that it is we AT&T customers who are dealing with this scam.  Hmmmmm.....pause for thought.

Threatened somebody who didn't live here with a court order.  Sounded like a real person rather than a recording.

Same problem others are having...and thus far, AT&T has been unable to assit us in blocking future calls from this number.

This is part of AT&Ts 'Privacy Manager' service. If a caller (eg, someone who calls you) blocks their number from showing, and you have opted not to accept calls without caller id, then the caller can choose to record their name and/or the company he/she represents and then these numbers (owned by AT&T but not assigned, if you call them yourself, you'll get a 'disconnected' message) call you. If you pick up, you can press 1 to listen to the recorded name/company and choose to accept or reject.

This only works when you actually pick up the phone when it rings, and not with voicemail/answering machines (which is kind of lame, why not detect this (which they easily can) and have it record the name/company they got from the caller (of course, then they'd also have to record a number that the caller can be reached on).

Either way, these numbers are not real, just part of a service, and can represent ANYONE calling you.

Don't bother reporting to donotcall.gov and other such things, since the numbers aren't assigned and in use for a service, they can't do a thing about it.

Annoying as hell AT&T, this is NOT the way to 'manage privacy', just adds more unwanted calls that are entirely unidentifiable.

Getting calls from this as well as random # in FL...leaving messages re: credit card reduction lower interest rates.

No message was left on machine. Just shows up that someone called with the above number.

Got a call from 0073 and 0009 at midnight this morning.  Let them both go to voice mail.  I wish they left their name and such so I would be able to slam them.

you know what 0073 is a computer 0009 is a person.

0009 is what you have to worry about 073 is on your side.

After a while the person called at 12:33 and said, get to bed, then he/she said, look out the window, i looked but nothing was there, then he/she said he/she is in my fort outback, so i asked whats in it then, he/she said blankets and stuff, he/she was correct! And he/she also new all of my family members, then he/she said come out to the fort, ive got a couple of knives waiting for you, after that i coud'nt sleep!
