Yes same number texted us as well same as below, all texts no verbal because his work, etc.  Trying to buy an old RV sounds familiar!!!!

After announcing my car on a canadian site named '' Autohebdo'', i received a txt from a guy who was interesting. He create a nice story of kind: ''I'm a marine biologist, i'm on a boat, we can only texting each other...'' I realized that the 415 is a Californian phone code and that it was a scam. Hope the guy will getting it by a car!

I had a text from the same number and sure enough its harry smith. Scamming me to pay full price! Yeah alright then!

If you're dumb enough to go through with a transaction with this Nigerian scammer, whom I received a text from as well, and sign your title over to some dude in lieu of a seemingly secure and painless PayPal payment, you should expect the following email from PayPal within about a week or two of the transaction:

"PayPal is committed to maintaining a safe environment for its community of buyers and sellers. Our team employs the most advanced systems in the world to protect the security of your account.
During a recent review of our system, we determined that you received funds from an account with reports of fraudulent bank account use. In accordance with PayPal's Seller Protection Policy, the following transaction involving unauthorized funds has been reversed..."

In the possible but unlikely situation that you've already successfully transferred the money to your personal bank account at the time that you receive this message, PayPal will give you the options of either paying them back or placing a collections account on your credit report, therein leveling your credit history and f****n you up in all sorts of unforseeable ways.

I certainly wouldn't ever fall for it, but Economics 101 tells me that enough people do bite that these hustlaz keep doin their thang.

He tried to buy my motorcycle in Toronto, saying he was a Marine biologist out on a boat in the "seas area". Terrible English. So I texted him back telling him I know all about 419 scams.

He never responded.

Got a text responding to my add for a motorcycle for sale, said he would pay full price, also claiming he was a marine biologist, lotsa things wrong with what he said, scammer for sure, waste of my time.

This fool tested me saying he was a marine biologist and wanted to buy my truck on carsforsale.com.  I am so glad I check phone numbers out. The phone number is through Vonage out of San Francisco California.

Always look up the number before responding. This guy changes his number frequently. But always has the same old scam line.

My friend got a response text from him saying he was overseas and wanted her paypal account information! I'm glad this information was out there for us to see!  Thanks soooo much!

Got the same bs.   Poor grammar 3 part message that got sent toooo fast after I said "still for sale"

The scammers target the new ad, as they are competing with other scammers, for the same W U wire money.  

There can only be so many successful scammers, with the limited #, of total idiots  "selling" , out there.

The early bird gets the worm.  Expect your first half dozen calls to be scammers who TEXT you..... instead of EMAILING.  
Why? you put in a PHONE NUMBER to call you.........But you got a TEXT message from Nigeria instead.
So I will pull the phone number from my ad......to stop phone message alerts ......... in the middle of the night.  Damn those Marine Biologists.

Thye tried to buy a Truck I have for sale on Carsforsale.com, same story on a ship and they can't use a phone.4 Messages, first did you sell it contact me ASAP, now they say they are on a ship.....yea right

I sent him a link showing him that everyone knows he is a scam artist. He never responded since. I always look up phone numbers before I sell them my car.

I just got a text message from this number about a car I am selling On EBay. I guess they are not only targeting Craigslist ads. I didn't get a response back from them after I told them to call me. Scammers are always at work!!!!!

I got the following message from this person today after i responded back to his message unknowingly.. Can anybody suggest me how can i protect my paypal account from this guy

received a text on my car listed on Craiglist wanting to purchase my car for his son who just graduated from college in New Zealand.  Wanted to congratulate him with a car!  Text came in 3 broken segments and was requesting my paypal address so he could send me the money.  Would arrange for pick up by his shipping agent.  Thought I would check this number out because I had never heard of this college and who graduates in last September?  Glad I looked, I was thinking this was a scam!

i got a text from this same person wanting to purchase my arcticat snowmobile for his son in new zealand and he was working off shore and would have to pay me by paypal. thought something sounded fishey and i haven't returned any more texts to this person

These scammers won't talk to you because they don't want you to hear their non-native-English accents.

Craigs list responder to my add for sale. wanted me to send $750 via western union to shipping company that would be picking up my item as purchaser said he was from overseas. Then he would paypal my money for shipping costs and for item. All via text from above number. I asked them to call me directly to discuss and they replied that they couldnt because they were deaf. Ya right. Scammers!!
