They violate Do Not Call all the time, and they also place calls from spoofed or fake phone numbers. They asked me for the 800 number on the back of my credit card which makes me suspect they are credit card thieves. Since they can fake the origin of their call, they can call your bank and make the bank's computer think the call is from YOU. Then (they may need the last 4 digits of the credit card) they can access the account. In another case, though, they asked for my credit card outright which suggests to me that they are phishing for credit card numbers to steal.

My new approach is to pretend interest and, when they ask for my credit card information, tell them I have to go find the credit card. Then I let them sit and wait while I work on the computer or do something else. In a couple of cases (after they've waited several minutes) I tell them I am on the Do Not Call list and never had any interest in their so-called service.

File a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies and also get your credit card number changed. I think these people are credit card thieves. Received a call from this number on August 22.  My phone has a program that blocks calls from people not in my contact list, so I never spoke to anyone, and they did not leave a message.

Same company as last week, but they changed their number.  Seems like this is a violation on interstate laws.

How do I stop  calls from this number.

I've gotten several calls from them, but I have Mr. Number hang up on them.  I just noticed they called at 9:09 pm which pisses me off.  They're not allowed to call after 9 pm, right?  Losers!

I got the call too, am curious so I answered.  It was a recording claiming to improve my credit card interest rates. I don't have a credit card...... I can't remember the name, but it was some generic company name, not a real backing institution. It asked to press one to speak to someone, so I did.  Some lady answered and I asked what the company name was and the phone number.  She immediately hung up.

Received call on my cell phone - Recorded message said it was about my credit card account, but there was not a problem with the account.  Said it was URGENT that I call them.  I've gotten similar phone calls many times on my work phone as well.

How do they get away with this when I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY???

These guys have called on three different occasions, even though I do not assert and will not answer in the future.

I don't have a credit card of any kind. I'm at the adult age or whatever to have one. I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.

I continuously get calls from this number and I don't even have a credit card.  It's very frustrating!!!

Well, I TOOK the call, pressed 1, spoke with the representative at length, and when I questioned the validity of the caller and asked him to bear with me and give me some proof of the organization through which they were calling, he put me on the line with his supervisor, who put my mind at ease.  I GAVE my credit card number and last 4 of my social!!!!  While she went on and on about this great program to lower all my interest rates, I went online and started searching, and found out I'm being scammed.  NOW WHAT TO DO???  Called my credit card company and reported the card "lost or stolen."  Hope that protects me.

I've received over a dozen calls from "Rachel" this year alone. Not to mention another half dozen with a slightly different spiel. I've reported every one to the FTC. Yes, robocalls are illegal. I've also filled a formal complaint about "Rachel" and the FTC with my Senator. Every time you get a call, file these complaints and keep a record to backup the complaints. BTW, if you have a Republican Representative (as I do) or Senator, don't bother to complain to them. Republicans are pro-business, even illegal business.

Absolutely! I am on the list and filed a complaint. Everyone on the list that got a call needs to report them!

If you call the number back, it asks for your number and a voicemail then proceeds to tell you the voicemail box is full.

Got the same call. Pressed 1 for an operator. She, I guess, said the name of the 'company' (I wasn't listening) and then asked if I had debt with a credit card. I said "Yeah, you called me and..." CLICK. They hung up before I even had the chance to ask to be taken off the list.

Just got a call on my cell phone.  It is on the DNC list, but I guess it doesn't apply to these folks.  Is there any way to make them stop.

The same thing just happened to me. I was carrying low debt so they hung up on me too. I didn't give them any numbers or information but did all your cards stay safe after they hung up on you?

I got a call from this # just a min ago and I didn't answer.  If i don't know the # I don't answer. If it is that important they would leave a voice mail.  Sounds like a scam to me.  If it is then they would just call random people and they have nothing to do with the Do Not Call List.  Those people don't care. I would just hang up on those people.  If you report them they will just change their # and keep trying just don't answer or just hang up.  Tired of people scamming other people.  Freakin get a real job jerks.  My husband busts his butt in the military to save your butt and this is how you treat us.  I don't think so.

I have had the same call on my cell and on my landline.  The end of the prerecorded message says to press 3 for no further notification, or press 1 to talk to a service person. I had done the "press 3" thing before without success, so I pressed 1.  The agent asked if my credit card balance was over $3000," When I responded, "No, but I'm being harrassed by calls from this number," the person immediately hung up.
