got a calll from this number saying they want money for a bank of america credit card that i never even opened and now it somehow is on my credit report what do i do

Received a call from 213-261-0299 and returned the call.  The guy I spoke to stated that the firms name was O'Brien, Wexler and Associates, and that I was to be sued for a payday loan from Vince Enterprises or BMG.  He gave me the date of the loan as 12/3/2008, well outside of the SOL in California of 4 years.  Also I have never had a loan from this company and my bank records prove this never took place.  When I informed him of this he stated that I will have to prove it to the judge and that the SOL was ten years.  All a lie.  He would not give me their address and stated that they would not mail me anything, that I would get all the information I needed from the court.  He stated that they were not a collection agency, lie, and that they were a law firm.  I asked where the case was to be filed and he stated where ever you live.  All he wanted to do was get off the phone after he realized I was not giving him a dime.  These guys are junk debt buyers who prey on the uninformed and try to scare people.  They have an address in Lockport NY but it is a PO Box, if I could find a real address I would think about surfing them for violating the FDCPA.  It appears as that they have gone by many different names over the years and that they keep themselves we'll hidden.  Also they have been sued a few time under the FDCPA act.

This is not a scam actually, The person that called you was a carrier but the number they provide is just the number that's listed on the paperwork. They have no idea what it is for. The number that they provide will tell you what your being served with. I was a legal process server for many years. People always want to say it's a scam but then when they miss a court date or their credit gets ruined because they never answered it they want to complain.

had few calls and left message for my mother saying it was regarding some legal carrier service with documents seal, that she has her appointment for 12pm/5pm hour time plus they said if you she wants to put an stop to this to call this number plus the girl sound like she was about to go sleep or something because she was yawning in the meddle of the message, what can I do to stop this scam callers???

This is a debt collection scam. They are relentless.

Got a call from this number telling me Im' about to be served papers for court over a Discover card bill from 10 yrs.ago and that it would be $5002.00 if we go to court or I could pay 1/2 now to stay out of court and clear it up. The so called Attorney attached to this is George Benrstein. His # is 415)735-3905 ext.509.

I received the message for my maiden name that a package had been delivered to my work and home.  I'm retired and have not gone by my maiden name since 1959.
