I was just talking to my mother and apparently a "Brad Williams" called with a very thick east indian accent. He's claiming my Dad's windows has been hacked and that he needs to call right away. Like the above poster said, it's interesting that someone with a very anglo sounding name calls with a heavy foreign accent. Due to the way my father operates, my mother also asked for "Brad's" ID number. I find it very suspicious that someone has an ID number like 00123WSC for an apparent MS representative. I'm going to assume this is a scam.

Mark Benson seems to be a rather anglophone name.  However, the use of english in this message is horrendous.  If anyone calls you claiming to be from "Windows" or "Microsoft", they are lying.  Microsoft gets MILLIONS of errors and messages from PCs every day.  They don't call us on these messages.  They use them to track potential bugs and fix them.  Mark Benson doesn't exist.

This was the number given by a scam artist who convinced one of my clients to install his virus software.

Do not believe the comments on this page saying their computer run faster, its probably the scammers trying to convince visitors that its a legit situation.

Received call from someone claiming to be from 'Windows 7' support centre. There was no number that appeared on call display, so I asked for a number to return the call to, to ensure they were legit.
This m.o. is a documented scam. Do not give them any personal information, or allow them to access your computer remotely.
