I just got a call from a guy called Michael Baugan who told me he was from Microsoft and I multiple error messages being sent from PC to Microsoft. I asked what kind of error messages as I hadn't sent any error reports to Microsoft recently.  You're not aware of these messages he said, but hackers are getting to your personal information and I want you to go to your computer and I will guide you through a process to sort everything out. I told him I did not believe him and hung up and he phoned me back immediately. I then asked him to tell me what messages Microsoft were receiving and he couldn't tell me and once more I accused him he was trying to "con" me and asked him for a number I could contact Microsoft  he gave me - 415 800 3766.  I tried and his number appears to be constantly engaged or out of order.

Austin, you must be from the same area as the guy that called. When I read what you wrote, it sounds just like the guy that talked to me. He gave me the 415-800-3766 number and when I tried to call it back, the little beep beep beep comes on and says that the number is no longer in service. I have software that prevents all this garbage that he said was on my computer.

Prank Call
Called to say they were from Window Service Center and someone is attempting to hack into our computer.  I called back to "Peter" and asked to speak with a supervisor.  He said there are hundreds of them.  I challenged him further and he became belligerent.  I told him I would contact the police if I could find out where they were from.

SCAM!!! They claim to be with Microsoft Service Center. Telling you that your computer is infected with viruses and they will fix it. They just need you to turn it on and they will guide you through the steps. DON'T do it. Call your local authorities and report them. I asked them for name and phone number so my son could call them back because he was the computer expert. I gave that information to the police. Do a search of "Windows Service Center" and you will see all the reports.
