I agree with JimH concerning tougher regulations. Half of the calls I receive every day are from scammers using every excuse imaginable (and then some) to contact a corporate entity. Today's contestant was a man with an accent (is there any other?), claiming to be from Forbes magazine. He was allegedly returning the call of a high-ranking manager regarding a survey, the results of which would be published in the next issue. I explained that company policy dictated that any studies must be submitted via standard mail and not conducted over the phone or by email. He protested all the way through my speech, finally saying he'd call again next week and hung up. Sorry, Charlie, but you're not getting through then, either; am warning my back-ups. Happy Holidays!

Said he was from the Better Business Bureau. Wanted to know about our postage meter. Told him we were not interested and hung up. Called right back. Said he wasn't trying to sell anything and asked if we buy our stamps from post ofc.

Called asking me to confirm if I was the it manager for my organization. He had outdated information on my organizations name, and told my secretary he was from Microsoft. Caller ID said CHS. Very suspicious.

Comes up as "CHP" on Caller Id, not even California Highway Patrol wannabees. This is a scam, fraud call from a cell phone in the San Francisco area. Do not give them any personal or business related data at all. I think it is a scheme trying to get working numbers for more scam calling.
It is assumed that all improperly or incompletely identified numbers are from the increasing number of scams, frauds, tie-lines, etc. This is why everyone must contact their elected reps in DC to demand they significantly strengthen the DNC laws, providing extremely severe dollar and prison sentences for violators. This is an opportunity for Congress to actually do something useful for the country, not just pass gas and throw spitballs at each other. Any business must be properly identified on Caller Id, not hide behind Not Available, Private, Unavailable, etc. There must be a new scam and fraud being generated every second out there. We need call control, not gun control!

Pretending to be FedEx to send me a package or check?
Refenced my work address?
Would not give a reference/tracking number.

This guy is really annoying. He calls for people who no longer work here all the time. I like to mess with him a little every time and get him as frustrated as possible. It's awesome.
He will call back over 10 times in hopes of trying to get a hold of one person to sell his product to. He says he's calling about Microsoft Dynamics but won't talk into any more detail about what he's calling about.

Calls over and over for people that do NOT work here. Each and EVERY time she calls for a new name and I advise her of this she repeats the name slowly...REALLY ?!
We do have people that work in the field and contractors that I don't have on my employee list but that all main billing and such is handled out of the office she IS calling and I ask what she needs help with so that I may connect her to the right party.
She refuses to say what she is needs, what company she is calling from and then begins to ask for email addresses.
nope, not happening

"Frankie" trying to send a white paper. "I'm not trying to sell you anything". What a relief! LOL!
