I have posted two different Craigslist ads, the first in July & the second in September & both times, Robert Wolff has contacted me, giving perfect places within my budget that I could move into. The number he gave me is 4086220817, his email is Robertwolffkw@gmail.com, & he even provided me with a DRE# 01053562, which I ran through the California Department of Real Estate system's website, verifying the number as valid. I am guessing it is stolen. The emails he sends me are too good to be true & his grammar within the emails along with the formatting of them are all screwed up as no professional would present themselves so illiterately. Be careful - no proper agent / homeowner / property manager will ever ask you to wire money. Ever.

The pixelated Keller Williams logo gave it away for me.

I also was contacted by Robert Wolff. What a joke. He sent me some units that looked exactly what I was looking for. I tried to get him on the phone and he flaked out. Also looked him up to see if he was legit, and found this. Thanks for posting, everyone. Very helpful.

This same person contacted me from an ad I placed. People, I know these are desperate times and we need help but always do your due diligence. If something doesnt feel or seem right it is your intuition speaking to you. Listen to it....I set him straight and I'm reporting him. I have his email and ISP. Gooduck to all of you and keep your eyes wide open. Peace-Namaste'

Yoooo... Robert Wolff is fun.
I mean... if the punctuation doesn't clue you in ... may be "individuals and family" will.

Hi All,
Robert Wolff is back again and this time his number is (408) 622-0817.
Thank you so much for warning me of this scam! I knew something seemed fishy about this individual.
Keep up the good work and stay vigilant everyone! Remember, always deal locally on craigslist.

Also got contacted through Craigslist by a "Robert Wolff" from Keller Williams. Looked him up and found this site. Will delete his email immediately!

Same thing here. Robert Wolff posing as a real estate agent for Keller Williams. Total scam. He is not the real Robert Wolff (The real one lives in Orange County), and he will take your money. Do not trust him!!! email he uses is Robertwolffkw@gmail.com.

Just had the same experience. unfortunately, i was desparate to find a place (had a friend coming in from japan on short notice & had to find them a place asap) & fell victim to him. this is in DC - my friend lost $1,500, & I lost $900. feel so stupid now for not researching ahead of time.....
Peter 2013-07-31 22:38:45 Unknown
I believe he now uses 408-622-0817 as everything mentioned in this thread applies to my current experience. I thought it strange that he would draft up a lease before we had even met in person or viewed the place.
The housing market in SF is very strict on personal meet ups before even doing anything, so when this happened, I started searching and found this thread. I just thought I'd contribute and put the new number up there for reference.

Thank you so much for this post - "Robert Wolff" 415-670-9659 Robertwolffkw@gmail.com contacted me because of my "housing wanted" ad in CL - I live in the bay area. I was scheduled to meet him in 1 hr to view an apartment in beautiful Temescal when I decided to respond to a shady vibe I was getting from him and run an internet search. Then got this link. This is a sadistic scam - when you are desperate for housing that allows pets at the right price, you really want to believe you are getting lucky. But i'm not the type that hands over 3000 to someone in CL. Don't you all be that person neither!! I just called his number above and it's disconnected.

Thanks for your post, it saved me from being a victim of this guy!! I also reported him to Keller Williams and the police. Apparently he never meets his victims, just has them wire money.

Robert Wolff of Keller Williams is a scam. He is not the real Robert Wolff. This fake Robert Wolff contracted me through Craigslist. He uses the email an phone number: (415)670-9659, Robertwolffkw@gmail.com, Please be aware. Every real estate agent/broker is to provide a DRE # whether you ask for it or not, which you can confirm at http://www.dre.ca.gov/, he did not provide a DRE number, and when I asked him, he provided a stolen DRE number. Be be aware.

So glad I did research on this guy before I started with him. We were emailing back and forth and I decided to go drive by the homes he gave to me to view. I thought it was too good to be true as well. The addresses weren't even the same and even though the homes looked abandoned there was no for rent or for sale signs out there. I wonder if we can report him somehow.

Same experience as the above poster, moving to San Fran from Chicago and he contacted me through Craigslist. Is a COMPLETE SCAM, demanded $$ upfront, for the entire lease, WROTE A BEAUTIFUL lease, however he doesn't work for Keller WIlliams, he has no license for real estate and will leave the country when you send him the $$ for the non existent apartment.

Now why would a real estate agent with Keller Williams have a free, web based, email account? Correct answer- he wouldn't. It is one of the signs of a scam. Free email address, Western Union, Over-amount checks, 3rd party shipping.

This person is now using San Francisco Bay Area craigslist, responding to Apt Wanted ads and claiming to be a real estate agent with Keller Williams. I checked and he is not. BEWARE of SCAM
Sent me email with pictures of places and deposit info. Used (415) 857-2387 as phone number and gmail email account
lacey 2012-12-31 20:34:33 Unknown
This person emailed me after finding a post that I posted on criagslist. I posted that I was looking for affordable housing and he sent me information on properties in my area. We made an appointment to view the listing and he never showed so I googled him to find out he is a scammer.

Same here, got the emails form usamuel7@gmail.com, same guy with thick accent.
Sarah 2012-12-13 10:38:56 Unknown
Who is the owner?
Dawn 2012-12-12 23:19:01 Unknown
one more thing his other name: Robert Keasley usamuel7@gmail.com
dawn 2012-12-12 23:18:01 Unknown
same here. I am in NYC...found me on craig's list...I even talked to him...and he had a spanish accent and it sounded like a child. He is also using this phone # 415 857 2387 - put this # in and you will see a much longer list of people he is trying to scam.
He has a face book acct; keller williams website and also linked in.
I wonder whose picture he is using.

Hi Monique,
Have you reported this to the police or Keller Williams? This Eduardo character is emailing me and it sounded tooo fishy so i started some research, cause what broker would ask for money before you even see the place.
Jonathan 2012-11-28 15:25:44 Unknown
I received and email from Eduardo Joel Abadia just as Laura described. Thanks for the heads up Laura. Lots of Karma going your way.

So.. what happens if you fall victim? I'm a Sandy surivior and he did this to me! I'm displaced and can't believe everything i worked hard for is gone.. what do i do? help me?
Laura 2012-11-20 04:30:33 Unknown
Eduardo Joel Abadia is a scammer who says he works for Keller Williams. eduardojoelabadia@gmail.com
What he does is he finds people looking for a house/apt etc and then emails them pictures of exactly what you are looking for...and actually it is too good to be true. He then asks you for money and shows people apts that have not been rented yet however, it is not his to rent.
I found out he is using other names and other phone numbers: usamuel7@gmail.com, Robert Keasley 605-549-5343
I decided to google him
He also set up an InLinked account and also a Facebook Acct all with his profile picture and then he also has he own website that he obviously set up himself with Keller Williams.
SO BEWARE!
