This is a phising scam. They tell you they can lower your interest rate on your credit card then a supervisor calls back
and tells you he can save you X amount of dollars for a fee of $700 dollars.
They can not lower your interest rate and do not work for or with ANY credit card companies.

These people called an unlisted number this morning. After doing research and seeing that it is a scam call center I will be reporting.

LOL you truly and honestly think this insect is shaking in his boots right now because you work in a legal department? Virginia recipient my spouse works for the State Atty's Office and I am a law enforcement officer do you really think the maggots behind those scam phone numbers give a hoot? Only thing that scares these scum is when the door gets kicked in and that might not even scare them. Oh btw didn't answer call when received. Just don't know anyone from San Francisco LOL.

Missed call from this number, no voicemail, said it was from San Francisco. Based on these answers glad I "missed" it.

The call type isn't listed. They claimed to be a company that could reduce my credit card interest amount. I informed the foreign-sounding gentleman that this was my work number and I had never used it with any credit card company. I asked him to put this number on a do not call list - he refused. He said he couldn't and it was out of his hands. I then asked for the name of the company who was calling - he hung up PRONTO!!! When I tried to call back - I got a busy signal. I work in a legal department - he messed with the wrong person this time!!!

Did anyone just complete the Credit Karma application to see a credit score before receiving a call from this number. The app asks for a cell phone number and says that you won't be contacted without your consent, but judging from the comments above, sounds like people are being marketed for lowering APRs, etc... sounds like there could be a connection. This # called me and rang a few times, but hung up before I could answer. When I called back, it rang busy.

Alert!!! "Credit Card Services" it is not
Calls from 415-876-8484
When I get the pre recorded message about lowering interest rates, I know this might be a scam, so I pressed 1.
He wanted some information, but I wanted his information first.
Caller could not give me his corporate office address, said he did not know it.
Told him I would first need additional information before I would give him any credit card information. He had none. Told the caller I would be reporting this number to the Department of Justice and the Texas Office of Consumer Credit and TX AG.
Then proceeded to tell me he was just a poor guy working in a call center. He abruptly thanked me and hung up.
They are phishing for your credit card information under the ploy of giving you are a lower rate.
They said the represent Chase, BofA, Wells Fargo, Capitol One , etc.

Ignored, thanks to you all!
| Jenny 2014-05-29 20:56:48 Unknown |
Pre-recorded message from a nice womans voice, no overseas accent. Indicates that nothing is wrong with my account but I can lower my interst rate to %6.9 if I press 1 and give my accout number.

Prerecorded call from "Heather from account services" telling me that there's no problem with my credit card but that I can lower the interest rate to 6.9% ... press 1 for more information, etc.
The caller ID number is almost certainly spoofed so it's a waste of time to call it.
These people were running this scam a couple years ago with this exact message. It stopped but the cockroaches are at it again.
