I just  got a call demanding i call this guy Michael Carter I called the nuber back with no answer . I asked the guy how did he get my work number and would not answer me told me he wanted my lawers name I said i have no lawyer and what is this all about and he said  he could not tell me he did not  have my case file he said it had something to do with the irs . how can this be report  cause they called me on my work number where  did they get that and if they  have that what  ellse f=do they have on me ??

I got a call several times threatening me that I'm going to jail for a payday loan.  This is bull.  These people need to be found and prosecuted.

They call and threaten me with harm!! Is there no way to stop this? I worry about my children's safety. They have a screw loose and won't stop. Police cannot do anything until it is too late......

If you ever applied online for a payday loan, your personal identifying information is out there to be hacked and sold on the internet black market.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I just received a call at both home and work numbers they left voicemail at my home number and got me at work number. He was totally rude, thick accent, and very threatening. He told me that someone's filed a law suit against me and that I need to call their senior attorney to discuss. And when I said no just serve me with papers then he got mad and said "May you suffer the consequences of the LAW then Tracy!" He knew my social security number though and that part really bothers me , if I didn't have such bad credit it seems he has enough info to open accounts or get loans under my name . Does anyone know what we all have in common that would make us vulnerable to these scammers? Is it payday loans? Cause I recently did one. The worst part is he keeps calling me at work and I work in hospital that does not like us getting personal phone calls at all let alone like this.

I got this phone call 3 times on Friday and they called my work number as well. I had left for the day. The guys name was Michael Brown. When I tried to call from my work number on Monday, no one would answer, I work for Metro Government. When I called from cell number they did. I believe I saved the message that he left on my cell Friday stating I needed to call back or have my lawyer call. I told him today I didn't know what he was speaking of and ask that he speak slow so I could understand. That seemed to upset me and he told me someone from the sheriff department would be picking me up tomorrow. He had my home address

I've gotten several phone calls and voicemails from this number. The lady called me a f*cking idiot yesterday so I called my attorney to let them know about these phone calls. I called back several times, got no answer. This morning at 7:35 am I get another phone call from them, I said that I notified my attorney of there harassments and threats, that they have the information & will be contacting these scam artist back. I said "I'm not stupid, I know you're a scam! Go ahead and keep leaving messages on my voicemail, it only strengthens my case against you!" the man hung up. We'll see if they call me back!

OMG I am so glad I just Googled this number and I know it was not a real facility because I called back and bout 2 min into the conversation he put me on hold..SMH where they do that at...

Have gotten so many calls from this so called Michael Carter. Saying as of just a minute ago "if you don't call me your gonna be in big trouble" or have your lawyer call me.  So I looked up the number and what do us know scam. They don't even have a voice mail any important people or law firms have voice mail.  Report definately!

This company is a scam artist.  Does anyone know of a law enforcement agency that we can report them to?

got the same call.... several times a day for past couple days.... most times when you call back all i got was a beep... when i finally got through some guy with a heavy insian accent said his name was Harry Joseph and went through the whole speal about how i was going to be arrested tomorrow etc etc... im so glad my son goggled this number and found this site...

I recieved a call and voice mail on 12-11-12 stating that I was giving a loan and failed to pay the loan off. The person who left the message was Eric (his last name I forget but is on my message) and the person I spoke to when I called the number her name was Michelle, both times I called the people were from indian. The voice mail was threating as well and when I attepted to talk to the women she threatened me stating that I am being taken to court and that I will recieve something at 11:00 on 12-12-12. She had my last 4 numbers of my social security number, my cell phone number, and multiple work numbers and the name of my company.

I HAVE RECIEVIED 5 CALLS SINCE YESTERDAY AND SOME A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO ONE AT 2 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING,  MY DAUGHTER TOLD THEM OFF YESTERDAY AND TOLD THEM TO NEVER CALL AGAIN BUT THEY DID THIS MORNING.  I THINK THEY SHOULD BE ARRESTED.  I HAVE CALLED THE POLICE AND FILED A REPORT.  NO ONE IS COMING TO ARREST ME.  I THINK THEY ARE HORRIBLE LEACHES AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THIS.  HOW DO THEY GET OUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Just came home to a message that I could barely understand except for my name.  Called back and asked why they were looking for "him" the guy hung up on me.  I decided to call back to see if this was a scam and asked him his name.  He said his name was Michael and when I asked him how to spell it, he said are kidding you don't know how to spell it and he hung up.

her name is michelle she called me and i asked when the loan was taken out and she told me "a long long time ago" and i told her i never took a loan out and she started yelling and then hung up on me!

they keep calling me telling to contact michelle vwan if not i am going to go to jail that she is sueing me under my social security number. and that if i do not respond the local police department will arrest says his name is john smith. guy with an indian accent (NOT ENGLISH) the number says its from san francisco/north Bay!

Basically all the stories I see here is the same that happen to me. Saying I have gotten a loan from cash advance USA and I've never received one. They claim to be lawyers and that a officer is coming to my address. This number called me as well pretending to be a law firm. After I mentioned the police they hung the phone up and would not answer. My number is new so theres no way anybody woukd have it especially an attorney.Be aware. They are scam artists to will call you fromdifferent numbers. They are Pakistanis terrorists scanning to get you personal information to use.

This is a number that is calling with personal information.  They are advising that they are from a law firm in Canada and they are calling for attorney Michael Carter.  This is a scam to get money.  Anyone who has recieved this call do not respond with any of your information.  REPORT THIS CALL REPORT THIS CALL.  These are some low down dirty lazy people trying to get you hard earned money.  They need to get a real job and stop attempting to take advantage of people.  They are they are loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosers that are to lazy to get a real job.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS BS.

I called these people back and advised they I know its a scam.  The female on the phone became angry and started cursing and call me names.  I advised her that this scam would not work and that I would tell everyone I could about this scam.

I received a call from this number today at home and 2x on my cell. Someone with an Indian accent named Albert asking all the same things are previously stated. Stating I must call them back with my attorney and if I disregard the call that all he can do is "wish you luck". He was very difficult to understand and said something about an arrest and a loan. I have not called them back since I see this is a scam. I will report them to the authorities.

the same exact thing happened to me same way... but i recognized rite away...so i started harassing him and he got mad n was hanging up on me HAHAHAHAHA

This number called me this morning and the caller was a foreign sounding guy asking me to let my lawyer call them for a very urgent matter. I blocked the number...

this number called me within 5 times of each other. I had to keep hanging up because of the kids. When I answered one of the times, he asked me why i wouldn't talk to him. I told him I had to take care of the kids and didn't have time to talk to him. If you are a collection agency, why are you calling on a Saturday for? Never seen or heard of any place doing that.

I have been getting alla from this number and threats to be arrested some I know their scam because it happened to me before I told her that I was suing her for $10000 she didn't even know what to say an she hung the phone so as they did to me I repeatedly called them asking for their information an reminding them of how big of a scam they were and they are now very frustrated an wont even pick up the phone or if they do thy just listen and hand up lol this is too funny someone needs I find out who these people are she told me haha I am in india you can't do anything to me.
