Same thing as Mark, I got another number almost exactly like it on Tuesday, and this number above on Wednesday. I refuse to answer any numbers I dont recognize but it's obviously a Toronto number.

Same as Mark and Kris.  I did not answer as I had never heard of a 000 area code.

I had the same number, but now I have noticed that other 416-000 numbers have been calling me as well.  Has anyone else noticed this?  For example I had 416-000-7954, 416-000-3146, 416-000-5876, I finally picked up today, but no one said anything.

Caution: I answered this call and a recording states that your car warranty is running out and it's very important,it's your last chance. Then a guy comes on and asks for your name. So I asked for his name and the Company name and who the hell is he. When he asked a question I ask a question and He would not answer. He finally said "I'll just put you on a don't call list".  Since then we've had a few other calls from them. Always on the cell phone. Be very cautions, it appears they're digging for personal information. Someone should call the Cops.

got the same call, saying your car warranty will be void if you don't answer...I pressed 1 and someone answered the phone. But after a few seconds, it just said "you phone number is 416-xxxxxxx" and then disconnected.

Anyway, don't answer this phone.

A bunch of us using company-provided Blackberries have been getting a number of 416-000-xxxx calls.  I did the same as "nick" and asked the person answering which car this supposed warranty pertained to. "The last car purchased in the household".  I said, "This number is for business only; remove it from your list."  That was on 19-Feb-09 - nothing since.

so far today i received 4160001357 and 4160001396. I read a posting on another forum site. This is what he says:
"There was a piece done on this company by CTV last week.  They are using a very aggressive style of marketing.  The company is based in the US and they use this message to entice people to buy their warranties.  Don't bother responding.  While the calls are annoying, they are supposedly not doing anything illegal.  I would advise that if you do decide to answer the call, you make it known that you are not interested in any of their products, and that they are to stop calling you.  That's about all you can do at this point."

Hey guys, i Just got this phone call like 2 mins ago. I also recieved it last friday. I didn't answer because i've never seen 000 before. It's obviously from Toronto, but i'm glad i didnt answer it

I'm getting numbers like that calling my home phone and my cell phone and it's really creepy and feels like someone's stalking me.

go call from 000-1936 yesterday and two calls from 000-1134 today. oh and i'm in southwest Ont.

get your number removed from any list by picking up the call,
and pressing  #  twice.  It will automaticaly hang up too and they wont call back.  It was given to me by my provider and sure works.

I have been receiving an average of two of these calls per day..I haven't answered them and they have gone straight to my voice mail...but never leave a message...It is really an inconvient annoyance...so today I decided to answer and no-one spoke on the other end of the call so I wasn't even able to say "take me off your listing".  I am going to try #twice..and hope for the best..Otherwise if anyone knows of any legal action that is being taken, please post it.

We have four cel phones in my house...mom, dad and two teenagers.. and these idiots call our phones several times a week for a couple of months now, sometimes six times or more times a week. While having a visit with relatives it was discussed and about 6 people in the room are getting the same phone calls on their cel phones too..It's a recorded message trying to sell a warranty of some sort.  Three of our phones in my house are on a contract but my sons phone is on pay-as-you-go and with these idiots calling  several times a week, this is costing my son money and airtime minutes on his pay-as-you-go card.  They called my phone today so I decided to listen to the message instead of hanging up into the first sentence or two, and I was asked to hold if I was interested in a warranty...I held and someone finally came on the line....I went nuts on the person...OMG...I couldn't even repeat what I said to them...I'll just say that it wasn't very nice...LOL...I was told that they would take my number off of their calling list but they hung up pretty quickly at that point so I didn't get a chance to ask her to take the other cel phone numbers off of the calling list too.  I guess I'll have to wait for them to call the other  cel phones in my family so I can go nuts on them again.

I guess I wait and see if they call back on the cel number that they called today.

I received this call on my cell. I did not answer it. More than likely a telemarketer.

Got many calls from 1-416-000-3179 and 1-416-000-7954 on my cell phone that I never gave the number to anyone.
My cell is pay per use and I only use it for family calls. I've had the number for 5 years and these are the first calls from someone other than my family.
I'm thinking of answering and telling them I will track them down and blow them up, that way they can send the police to my house and I'll be able to find out who they are and really track them down and blow them up.

Received calls from 416-000-8812, 416-000-3196, and 916-209-4598. Never answered them ( have call display on my cell ) but there has to be a way to stop this from happening. Wonder if the police agencies have a task force in place to deal with this kind of harassment.

Got a call from 416-000-3196 yesterday at around noon.  Did not answer, as supicious of 000 as part of the number.  No message was left.

I've gotten this call too, but I don't think you can blame your provider. With so many people getting this call they're probably just dialing at random........

They called BOTH my cell phones which have different numbers! Obviously Rogers (my service provider) is "selling" cell #s to these annoying telemarketers.One left a message about expiring car warranty.The other call didn't leave a message.Both phone's call display showed 416 000-3196.

I don't think you can blame RBC.  I am getting these calls, too, and I had no dealings with any insurance companies whatsoever ... er, except rental car insurance a few times...  I get calls from all sorts of area codes, all seem to be insurance scams when I google the numbers.  never had a single cell phone spam call before 2009!

Hello All, these calls started for me immediately after applying for Home Insurance through RBC. For years, I've had my cell number and NEVER EVER received any calls like this or any telemarketers soliciting me. My suggestion is if you recently applied or acquired Home/Auto or whatever insurance, and this started, then, they are the culprit!!! I'm going to call RBC Insurance (www.rbcinsurance.com) later this week to CHEW THEM OUT!

called my cell and did not leave message, white/yellow pages no results for that number

416-000-3196 called my cellphone number just now (2:52 pm EST on February 19, 2008). I did not pick up. Whitepages.com yields nothing on this number. Telemarketer calls on my homephone is one thing, but on my cell?

416 000 3196 called a private cell number and told me my warranty is about to expire i said 1 how did you get my number they told me from variouse sourses 2i told her  i dont own a car how is it my warranty is going to expire however i know exactly where you are and im on my way with the police to charge you with thef of my phone number she said i will place your number on the do not call list and hung up i believe her name was holy note they have called 10 times .

Unwanted calls to cell phone costing money...customer should have all associated phone numbers under their name suspended. This should be considered theft as I did not authorize them to call my cell.

The factory warranty on your vehicle is expiring..  right....
