This is one of the companies that took advantage of the new call blocking site the government set up. Apparently if you answer the call you are given the option to stop them from calling.
I haven't tried it because I don't want to pay any charges on my cell.
The Canadian gov't should pay to change all our numbers. They screwed up.

I got this too along with two other 416-000-****...they called me daily around 1 pm, when I am in school so I missed them all. But one left me a voice message that "my vehicle" is gonna expire. That is funny that I don't have any vehicle, so I just ignore them altogether

Yet another annoying call telling me that the factory warranty on my vehicle has expired. I get one of these calls a day and It's always from a different number. God how I hate it.

I keep getting these calls on my cell phone. I am not with Rogers, but Virgin, so they either have all cell phone lists or somehow are getting access to random cell numbers. They call at least once a day and often from different numbers. Recent calls have all been from 416 area code but they started out coming from California (several different cities). They keep calling about vehicle warranties but I don't even have a driver's licence, let alone a car! How do I stop these calls?

Simply DO NOT ANSWER ANY 416-000-????. Period.

Do you know what the name of the agent, or number of the agent you spoke to was? I am filing a complain online on the Do Not Call website with the Canadian Government. I'm getting the call too, and I'm sick of it.

I get calls on my cell phone almost daily from this number, or one like it. I don't answer. Today they left a hang up message. How do we stop these people? It's highly annoying, and what's worse, it's a violation of privacy.

Car insurance scam, I don't even own a 'vehicle' so how can my warranty be almost up. They call me daily, I'd hung up the first time as soon as I heard that opening line and haven't answered since.

If you listen through the entire message, there are two options: "1" to speak to their operator to get the pitch, or "2" to be added to their do not call list. Whether or not they actually abide by the list is another matter. I've been getting these calls every other day for the last week, we'll see if this does anything.

RECEIVING A CALL FROM THEM ONCE A DAY FOR ABOUT A WEEK.
THERE IS NEVER A MSG LEFT, AND AFTER ANSWERING THE FIRST TIME (AND HANGING-UP BEFORE LISTENING TO THE WHOLE SALES PITCH), I HAVE LEARNED AND AM PERMANENTLY SCREENING ALL CALLS FROM UNKNOWN NUMBERS.
CHF 2009-03-03 21:12:55 Unknown
I'm also using Fido, and I'm the only person that I know or is in my family getting these calls. I've read its a car company? I don't even have a LICENSE let alone a car... who's giving our numbers away?!
CHF 2009-03-03 21:11:24 Unknown
I get home every day and get a WhoCalled text message saying I have 2 new voicemails. I check the messages and I get the hang up. Just today I hit the call back button and it gave me this number, and I have to say, Google is my friend. Anyone know how to stop it yet? Its starting to p**s me off.

haha... warranties out of Compton?!
I asked the woman the name of the company, she said they were called "warranty services". I asked her if it was a scam and she countered that they were simply a company offering warranties. "No you're not. You're trying to frighten people!" She laughed and asked if there was anyone in my home who owned a car.
When i asked where they were based; in the states or Canada, she told me she'd take me off the list and hung up on me.
complaining to the FCC hasn't seemed to work in getting rid of these folks, or getting them to change their tactic. What to do..
K 2009-03-03 20:58:26 Unknown
Dont call back the number, someone told me they heard that they charge you long distances charges of like thousands of dollars or something if you do, thats the whole point of them calling to try and SCAM you.
John 2009-03-03 20:49:53 Unknown
Just called me again too... several times now. I'm with Telus.
I want to know where these scammers get these numbers from? Who's selling our numbers to companies like this???
Brad 2009-03-03 20:43:20 Unknown

PW 2009-03-03 20:39:21 Unknown
I have been getting calls like this for some time now, 2 or more times a day, and now I have been recieving similar calls from a "collections" about a credit card. I don't have a credit card and my car is in my husbands name. This is all a scam. Does anyone knows how to stop this???? I'd love to know.
juksing 2009-03-03 20:32:28 Unknown
yes, car warrenty telemarkiting- although I have never listened to the enitire voice mail. We are thinking that it is from a rogers phone list as it is hitting all my friends who use rogers. Any thoughts?
I get it several times a week and it sometime leaves a voicemail, somtimes it hangs up. Just irritating.
