I received a call from this number about a minute ago, and it sounded like he was saying he was calling from a department store that I had placed an order from. I had to ask him about 10 times to name the store, and finally asked to speak to his supervisor. I asked him where he was calling from, to which he responded Japan. He then started getting very rude with me as he took it quite personally that his english wasn't very good. He then very slowly asked me if I had a middle finger, at which point I just hung up.

I got the same thing but the caller ID is simply 2345

i had the same kinda call 2 nights ago around supper time 5-5:30 maybe... he said i want to lower your interest rates on your mastercard. I said which one?
he said the one thats your bank is with.. i kept asking him over and over.. he spoke with a heavy indian accent. He finally said CIBC .. i said sorry we dont deal with that company and then i hung up.

These people have called twice in the last few days.  Both times I have filled complaints with the Canadian government do not call registry.  I suggest you consider the same.

We just got a call from this number.  He asked my fiance about his Visa and then told him he could lower his interest rate but needed his card information over the line to verify who he was talking to.  My fiance told him he wasn't going to get that information as they should have it on their records.  Asked about how many cards he had and at what banks and at that point, my fiance said he wasn't going to give him any more information and hung up on him after saying GOODBYE! really loudly cause this guy wasn't taking NO more information over the phone seriously!

got a call telling me only 3.5 interest on my mastercard  dont even have a mastercard this is the third call i got in 5 months...thanks for caller i.d  i wont even answer anymore.

I am on the NO PHONE LIST and am being harrassed many times by this number.  How do I get them to stop
I have call display and do not answer this and block the call but they still phone and it makes me very angry.  I thought there was afine for harrassment on the phone.

I got a call from an east-indian sounding guy earlier today.   I checked the number (via google) and it says that's it's from the Toronto area.   Liberty Financial Services.   I lied & told him that the person he was asking for was away for the week.   He said he'd call back in two weeks.   I was suspicious from the start.   Sounds like a scam artist.

I got a hang up, I think maybe they just like girls.

Got a call from this a minute ago,

"Patrick" calling about my Visa account.  I indicated I don't answer calls about credit cards over the phone, and he said OK and hung up.

Likely a scam.

I would like to know why you are calling us if calling why you are not talking. it means you are plan to abuse us.

I know exactly how to stop them.Go to Canadian tire and purchase an airhorn.
Blow it into phone when they call-they will NOT call back.(probably cause their eardrums are burst)

This number shows up on my call display as having called on April 12 at 8:30 p.m.  The caller didn't reach anyone here, and didn't leave a message.  I was just going through the call display records to return calls, and noticed the number; given we've received so many telemarketer and other unwanted calls (despite supposedly signing up -- twice! -- for the "do not call" database), I decided to Google the number after the reverse directory turned up nothing.  

So much for the bullsh*t "do not call" service; we continue to get lots of calls at all hours from scammers and various pests.

It *might not* be a scam (though I suspect those here who have seen miraculous results with lowering their interest rates are ringers for the company), but it's shady at best.  And against the Canada Do No Call rules for those who are signed up, including myself.  I reported them.

I got a call from this number... lately I find, i get alot of marketing calls... I figure that if they can't even say my name properly which is a very easy bilingual name... hang up!

An Indian sounding gentleman said he was calling on behalf of my existing Visa and Mastercard.  He didn't seem to understand when I said, "Both?" and just repeated himself.  Was offering a 3.9% interest rate on any card not already under 10%.  Obvious phishing attempt since almost every credit card in existence just shot up in rate.  I told him I had the best credit rating in Canada and that my rate was already lower than that.  He asked if it was permanent and I said, "Yes."  He ended the call at that point.  He was polite but people stealing your money tend to be.

I also received a call from this number.  As soon as I responded they hung up.

Just rang with this number displayed.  I didn't pick up, the number alone looked like an obvious scam.

This 416 number is probably not where the call is originating.

Just had a call from the 416-001-2345, luckily I was online with <gasp> dial-up  but my Call Manager saw the number. Of course I did not answer it....now since I read the other reports, I am glad I was online....or it would have gotten my answering machine. So scarey online and with phones nowdays. Just never give out ANY personal info to strangers....even if they say they are from a local company and will not give you a call-back number !!!

7 Jan 2001 @ 845PM. East Indian type accent, male, very haulting speech. I hung up and tried call back but phone co responded unable to dial #.Cannot find listing on other sites. Logged and will be reported to RCMP  should it recall.

A call came at 2:33 P.M. MST on January 8 while I was out.  The call display said 416 001 2345 but no message was left on my answering service.  Thanks to those who wrote about this scammer, I know what this is about.  If the cassette recorder works and is cued while a call such as this comes in, I'll save the message and report it to the RCMP
